I have an Atto....a vehicle position selection does not appear on my BYD app. For Android the app was just updated to ver 2.0.8 on 9 May 2024 which is the version on my phone. Is the screenshot of that Dolphin owner based in Thailand? Maybe, repeat maybe, the vehicle position selection is for Dolphins in other countries...it may not be model related at all....but country location related.

Please be more specific regarding the post within this topic of "LTR Visa is Now Available for Long Term Residency" which talks an annual re-qualification requirement (which does not exist). Provide a link to the post or at least the date/time of the post so we can review as to what has you so confused/misinformed. Now if you find the post(s) and they turn out to be your own post or Sigmund's then that explains why you are so confused on this issue. And once again, the only annual requirement is the reporting of your address on a simple TM95 form which is almost identical to the TM47 form used by folks who must do 90 day address reports on their 1 year visa. P.S. I did my LTR visa annual address report back in Dec 2023 at the BOI Chamchuri Sq Immigration Office here in Bangkok since I live in Bangkok....took about five minutes from entering to exiting the office. Oh wait, I forgot to mention the approx 2 minutes it took me to fill-out the TM95 form which I did at home and is nothing more than entering your name, address, and some passport data plus your signature.

Just to quote some more from the links within JBChiangRai's post above. https://www.autoinsuranceez.com/gas-vs-electric-car-fires/ -
You must be confusing the LTR visa with some other visa (maybe the Non OX 10 year visa?) And where you say "harassment" what in the world are you talking about!? The only annual requirement of an LTR visa is the annual address report (TM95)....a simple form where you basically enter your name, address, and passport data. An address report just like the simple 90 day address report (TM47) required for 1 year visas. And there is no harassment during LTR application/submission...you simply upload the visa application documentation to the BOI LTR website...and then if they happen to ask for some additional documentation you just upload the requested documentation. No face-to-face encounters with an immigration officer during the application process. Hopefully you meet the requirements and then you can complete the final step by paying the Bt50K fee (if having it issued in Bangkok) within 60 days to have the LTR visa issued...and you don't have to pay this fee until approved...you don't have to pay the fee to have the LTR issued if something in your world expectantly occurred preventing you from being able to pay the fee within 60 days. The application process is all done from behind the comfort of your keyboard. There is a mid-term extension process during the 5th year of the 10 year visa which will probably be a mini-version of the initial application such as show you still meet the income requirement and health coverage (policy or self-insure) requirement....then you are issued the 2nd 5 years of the 10 year visa at "no cost" as the Bt50K initial fee covers the entire 10 year period. Yeap...either you are confusing the LTR visa with another type of visa, someone has given you bigtime wrong information, and/or you are just trolling.

Did they? According to Wikipedia (1st snapshot below) the bx4X uses lithium ion batteries from CATL or PPES (PPES is a joint venue between Panasonic and Toyota). I know a very recent announcement about Toyota using BYD blade LFP batteries in a pending/next year release of Toyota's new bz3 sedan in China will come with BYD batteries....see snapshot/link at bottom. Funny how Toyota and its followers (not implying you are a follower) have released articles/videos "for years and years" about Toyota's new, game-changing EV battery technology being released soon but Toyota EV's still use some other manufacturers' batteries such as CATL, Panasonic, BYD, etc., traction batteries. If Toyota ever does release an EV traction battery they "developed and made" it will probably be a variation of a lead acid battery.😁 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_bZ4X https://www.topspeed.com/toyota-bz3-everything-confirmed/

Works for me also. -
Toyota removing the bZ4X from their website would scream the vehicle is not selling well (or at all)....loss of face...reopen their EV wound...etc. The bZ4X was basically a prototype EV that Toyota rushed to market and it flopped. When it comes to Toyota they are way behind in EV technology....still an ICEV company at heart sprinkled with a little bit of hybrid.

See this articles which explains the various (numerous) vehicle segments. https://www.carsome.co.th/news/item/car-tips-car-segment

Those vehicles are in different segments.

EV & ICEV Jan-Mar 2024 sales/registrations for the ECO/Hatchback/Wagon segment. Please note the article says the ICEV numbers represent "Sales" and the EV numbers are "registrations." Sales could represent nothing more than a "booking/reservation" that possibly does not follow-thru to a completed sale where the vehicle is registered (i..e, sale complete and govt issued a vehicle blue book/tags). Don't know why the author of article is mixing apples with oranges....I expect the final sales numbers for the ICEVs will be lower as financing will fall-thru for X-amount and will not reach the registration stage. But regardless, notice in the chart below how EVs in this segment are out selling ICEVs for the quarter. This is pretty noticeable here in the greater Bangkok area where EVs are as thick as fleas on a soi dog. In the image below those vehicles with an asterisk (*) after the model name is an EV...and the chart below the image does break-out the ICEV and EV into separate sections. https://autolifethailand.tv/sales-report-eco-b-seg-hatchback-mar-2024/

Unfortunate indeed. Wouldn't surprise me for it to be blamed on an parked EV catching fire which then spread to the tank farm. Standby for an AI enhanced Youtube video on some EV Hating channel (sponsored by Toyota) blaming it on an EV. https://www.thaipbsworld.com/gas-tank-fire-in-map-ta-phut-kills-at-least-one/

That's my understanding of the LTR Royal Decree partially quoted below. I read below as saying when it's tax filing time this come Jan-Mar 2025 which is for the 2024 tax year (the previous year)....any funds you remitted in 2024 such as pension which the TRD seems to lump under the tax category of employment would be tax free. Another example, say you remitted some funds in 2025, well, you don't file tax for 2025 until Jan-Mar 2026 which is for the "previous" tax year of 2025.

liddeljohn has watched too many Toyota-sponsored hydrogen powered propaganda videos. But if liddeljohn does buy a HYSE vehicle he needs to live close to "the one and only hydrogen filling station in Thailand"...in the Chonburi area....a prototype station setup by PTT and Toyota in late 2022. Don't know the pricing of the hydrogen fuel but I'm sure it's HIGH! https://www.pttplc.com/en/Media/News/Content-31497.aspx -
I don't own a Seal but an Atto since Oct 2023 and it had the Navigation range function then and now.

Since the sh&t does not hit the fan until Nov 2033 that means our elected representatives (Democrat, Republican, Independent, Congress, President, etc) can continue to beat their chest & flap their lips on how to fix the problem until after the Nov 2032 election...then all the chest beating, lips flapping will turn into real action. But I'm optimistic....I think this will become a serious major issue for the 2028 election which will drive real action, shoring up the SS retirement program in 2029 which is still kinda at the eleventh hour to fix things.

This six and half minute video gives a overview/summary of the UBS report. -
At around 1:13 of the video you can see flame shooting down....see above snapshot. At first I thought this might be the LFP 12V auxiliary battery but from some googling I guess the 12v battery is under the rear seat. If the Seal was upright on its wheels that location would be on the right rear next to the charging port. I'm just trying to figure out what would cause the flames to shootout/shoot straight down like under pressure from this location in the trunk?

If you are talking this post there is nothing special there....standard stuff of the TM95 1 year address reporting form, a TM6 "if" you have one, the 1 year notification card/slip you get when initially receiving your LTR or doing a 1 year report, and if having someone else doing the reporting for you an authorization form from you saying it OK. Standard issue stuff....pretty much the same stuff for people doing an in person 90 day address report in Bangkok. And I've already done my first 1 year LTR address report in-person and have done 90 day address reports in person when I was on a Non O type visa/extension. Yeap...nothing special here....just standard forms immigration wants.

Anything is possible but I would think that might only become an issue at mid point renewal time where they would look back 1 year and possibly be hard core on showing $100K over the past 12 months.. Having an actual policy would prevent such but when self-insuring I guess there is that possibility come renewal time.

I expect "all" businesses do some creative accounting and transactions for sales, business, profit, tax, etc., purposes. I expect that is what Toyota did for their Bz4x EV model which for "all 12 months" of 2023 only a total of 60 registrations occurred. Then for Jan 2024 there were 66 registrations (more than for all of 2023) with zero registrations since then for Feb, Mar, and Apr 2024. That implies to me Toyota took action in Dec 2023 or Jan 2024 to offload their Bz4x stock which involved registration....maybe a mass sell at wholesale price to an out of country buyer, transfer to their preowned vehicle division (Toyota Sure), or some other creative sell off.
-
From looking at the DLT registration data 66 Bz4x's were registered in Jan and then for months Feb thru Apr there have been zero sales. And even in 2023 they had very few sales. I bet those 66 Bz4X registrations in Jan was just some type of Toyota creative accounting like maybe selling/transferring all remaining Bz4x in their new car inventory to maybe Toyota Sure (preowned car division) who in turn would try to sell them. Or maybe an wholesale sale to some company in another country and they Bz4s's where then shipped out of country. Yeap, my gut feel is Toyota just need some type of creative booking keeping which involved registration.
-
Nope...I can't explain why car250.com's reported registration amounts does not match the DLT registration data that DLT posts on their website. https://web.dlt.go.th/statistics/ I checked the DLT website again this morning...and it still reports the same thing as shown in above snapshot from a day or so ago when DLT posted their updated data for April registrations.

Not sure what posts you are talking about other than maybe my earlier post of a BOI webpage notice basically saying your LTR visa can be cancelled if you fail to maintain visa requirements. Really zero news there as that immigration policy applies to "any" type of visa issued even Non O/OA type visas. It's not like you can qualify for a visa and once it's stamped into your passport that you can discard all/any of the requirements the next day such as not having the required income, not having medical coverage, etc., if the visa had such requirements. HOWEVER, BUT, if a person was dumb enough to fail to maintain visa compliance requirements, it's not like Immigration is constantly watching/checking to ensure you maintain visa requirements....like checking once a year to ensure you still have medical coverage for your LTR visa, whether you still meeting the income requirements, etc. Just like Immigration don't run checks like maybe every 3 months that person still meets 1 year Non O/OA visa requirements for income, etc. Now if a person ended-up running up a hospital bill say for $50K USD, couldn't pay it due to no health insurance polciy or self-insure capability (i.e., didn't have $100K USD in a bank) and Immigration Police got involved in trying to assist the hospital in getting you to pay your bill, well, Immigration now has justification to cancel your visa since obviously you didn't maintain one of the LTR visa requirements. Now how many years BOI/Immigration will want to look back come the mid term 5 year renewal/extension point is really an unknown as the first batch of LTR issued visa will not come due their midterm extension until Sep 2027. My gut feel is they will only look back one or two years maximum which is identical to the lookback period for some visa requirements when initially applying for an LTR visa. However, just like when initially applying BOI/immigration can ask for additional documentation if they have concerns about your application....that is, want some additional proof beyond what is typically required. No real news there either as that pretty much standard Immigration procedures. The only annual requirement for an LTR visa is the annual address reporting where no checks of income/medical/etc., are done....you are only reporting your current address....identical to how people on a 1 year Non-O/OA type visa must do 90 days address reports. If you have creditable posts saying otherwise please provide some links to them.
