Fluorescent LED strip light upgrade ARRRR!!!!!!
billd766 replied to Daffy D's topic in The Electrical Forum
According to Google 28.3 mm is equal to 1.114173 imperial inches in length/diameter. The 0.114173 doesn't seem to come out as a fraction I don't think that I have ever seen any socket or spanner that size Perhaps A/F or Whitworth or as an alternative, the trusty adjustable "Mole" grips would do. -
Fluorescent LED strip light upgrade ARRRR!!!!!!

It is spring cleaning time and I was bored. One advantage of a clean and tidy workshop is that I have found many items that I have been buying as I had none left. I found in among all the rubbish a big plastic box full of nails of various sizes that I don't even remember buying in the 19 years we have lived here. I have found various sizes and types of blue plumbing fittings that to buy new would be around 1,500 to 2,000 baht. Nails, screws. nuts, bolts, washers, jubilee clips, 3 cement trowels, electrical plugs, sockets, fuses ( I cant remember the last time I changed a fuse). Odd broken or maybe not electric fans, taps of various sizes and types, an old water pump, water filters, and I am not even finished clearing the third bench yet, let alone underneath. The trash men will be happy as they sell on stuff that I consider junk and not worth repairing. -
Submarine Deal Won’t Be Scrapped At Expense Of Other Agreements: Suthin

They could probably get a crane to lower him though the torpedo loading hatch. They would have to offload a fair amount of ballast first though. -
We live in a village in rural Kamphaeng Phet and the PEA meter reader always comes on the 23rd of the month, no matter what the day is. My wife goes to the Amphur village to the PEA office and pays in cash. We have paid the bill the same way for 19 years now. No scams here.

But can be armed is not quite the same is is armed as standard. No regular pick up truck is armed as standard, but...

I have just looked it up on a search and from what I could see, its weakest point seems to be its tracks. Take one track out and it becomes a very expensive road block, and hard to repair or remove whilst a battle is raging around it. In addition whilst it is very well armoured, it also seems to be unarmed and will require a large number of heavily armed and armoured troops to support it.

He is making good sense to me. He is correct as tanks are great in some areas, but not so good in street fighting when they have to slow to get over mounds of rubble. As they reach the top of the heap the thinner armour underneath is exposed. Another problem is that if a tank is disabled in the street it tends to block the street and is hard to remove and recover.

As far as I can see the US military is the strongest force in the area at this time, and the Israeli forces would probably be more careful about biting the hands that feed them. As for the Palestinian forces I am not so sure, but I don't think that the Iranians would want to get too involved.

Fluorescent LED strip light upgrade ARRRR!!!!!!

I am replacing the one in my workshop with an LED strip light. It has taken me a couple of hours to plan the job, decide where to move the new one to, find some wood to back it. The old one is at the back of the workshop and about 3 metres up, so It can stay. Today started out by by shifting the workbench, lashing the steps to the concrete post for safety., drilling holes in the back board, finding the rawlplugs and then finding screws that were long enough, drill bits for concrete of the right diameter. Finding the correct screws was not so easy as I am also spring cleaning my workshop. Now did I find them already, and if so where did I put them. I finally got my act together and mounted the board and the light, so tomorrow I will wire it up, having checked that the switch works. Where did those 2 hours go to today? -
It is not so unusual for me as I generally read most of your posts though I don't agree with them all. IMO IF the USA does actually physically support Israel with boots on the ground, then President Biden will be attacked by both sides and will be in a lose/lose situation especially when the US body bags start coming home to the USA. Trump alone will take every opportunity to make problems larger, even if only to divert away from his own problems. As for the major parties, I thing that the Democrats will reluctantly back Biden, and the GOP will make as much of it as they can to cover their own internal problems. Again IMHO possibly the best the US could do would to put their own forces between both sides and tell each side that there IS a cease fire in place, like it or not. And that either side attempts to break that cease fire, then the US forces will retaliate against the attackers. The same rule will apply if the US troops are attacked by either side.

quote Link link link...is that all that cranks you? Not at all, links lead to proof. Now if you can prove what you are merely alleging I may start to believe you. As it is, all I have is your word which is biased from the start. To me, and perhaps to other posters, though I cannot speak for them, your word is not worth anything without links or proof, unless it is only your biased opinion. You keep alleging that President Biden has done this or that but you never offer any substantial, proof, links or evidence. A bit like the thread header "Comer-there’s-‘overwhelming-evidence’-biden’s-involved-in-hunter’s-business-dealings". If either Comer or you have the evidence, then show it publicly. After months of investigation it seems that Comer doesn't actually have overwhelming evidence against President Biden. If he doesn't have it with the hundreds of hours and enormous manpower resources, why should anybody believe you, who cannot even provide a link?

The Guardian is outraged by companies only part owned by Rishi Sunak's wife receiving over 2 million GBP. What I couldn't find find in the article was actually how much was dispersed from the fund. After an internet search I found this article. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-grant-funding-local-authority-payments-to-small-and-medium-businesses/covid-19-business-grants-schemes-insights-august-2022#:~:text=The Restart Grant was announced, scheme closed in July 2021.&text=Cohort 1 grants. . Key learnings These insights show: almost £27 billion was allocated through the COVID-19 Business Grants scheme to local authorities in England, which delivered over 4.5 million payments totalling £22.6 billion, to businesses impacted by the pandemic micro, small, and medium sized businesses received 94% of the funding by value, totalling £21.3 billion. It seems as though those four separate companies received less than 1% of the funding between them. The guardian, as usual only publish the parts of a story that favours them and their readership and not the whole story. As a slightly off topic point, when I accessed the Guardian story on the end of it they mentioned that as I live in Thailand, would I like to contribute to help pay for their news. Just above that they also asked if I would like to sign up for their "Free" newsletter.

Heated Dispute Erupts at Phala Beach Rayong Over Parking Space
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Eastern Thailand News
Does the vendor pay the government a rental fee to reserve the parking spot, plus get a receipt for the same? If not, then tough. It is a PUBLIC parking space, free for anyone to park, as the police should very well know. -
Thailand-Russia relations remain strong, but at what cost?

That would rule you out then, wouldn't it? What a wonderful thing links and references are. Do you have any on this subject you would like to share with us all? -
Unfortunately, by moving troops and aircraft carrier battle groups into the region, plus supporting Israel, the US has already escalated the problem. The Israeli government led by the warmonger, Netanyahu will take it as a discreet sign of support, and Hamas will do the same, looking at it as support for Israel against the Palestinians. Sadly, President Biden is in a cleft stick situation. Damned if he does something. and damned by the other side if he doesn't. That is only in the region. In the other battlefield of USA politics he will face the same situation. I am really glad that I am not a US citizen, and not in his position. All US citizens worldwide are slowly becoming targets, and quickly becoming targets in the region.

Government to promote production and use of EVs in Thailand
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The nearest one to me is about 17 km away and the next nearest is on the main highway route 1/2 in Kamphaeng Phet 60km away. PTT has a great collection of petrol stations IF you live in a city or on a highway but not in rural Thailand yet. Before the government pushes RVs they need to quickly upgrade the PEA network, then install as many charging points as they can and only then push EV vehicles. They also need to develop along with vehicle manufacturers a range of transport trucks and agricultural vehicles, with special attention to farming equipment and make 100% sure that the batteries are completely watertight for the rice paddies. Whichever country wins that race will make large sums of money. It may be a good idea to set up training courses to teach EV servicing and repairs asap.
