New challenges facing Thai workers evacuated from Israel

And with no job and a family to support, they cannot even repay that amount. They left Thailand to get a good job and more money than they could earn in Thailand. -
New challenges facing Thai workers evacuated from Israel
billd766 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
NOT having a job in Thailand to pay off their debts. NOT being able to provide for their family which is why they went in the first place. I did read in the other EL newspaper that the government is trying to arrange loans from the GSB or the BAAC for some of them to repay their debts. All that will achieve is swapping one debt for another. The only good thing that has come from it, is that they are safe and as well as can be expected. quote from the OP. " In interviews with Thai PBS World, many of those evacuated said they are relieved to be back in their home country. They also made it clear that, even when the situation calms down, they have no desire to go back to work in Israel. “I’m not going back anymore. I mean, I would consider it, but I’m afraid the conflict might escalate again. I won’t survive if I go there again. The attacks were very close to where I was,” according to one Thai evacuee. I don't blame them in the slightest. They were caught up in something that was not of their doing and unable to defend themselves or do anything about it. THOSE are their new challenges. -
Really? Perhaps YOU should do some fact checking yourself. Many guys in Asia have paid NI contributions for 44 years or more, as I did. I am 79 but because I chose to live in Thailand my "reward" for paying NI contribution wasnto get my State pension, which is NOT a benefit, frozen at the rate it was first paid at 14 years ago. If I had stayed in the UK I would have had my pension updated every year. I would have been ENTITLED to many extra benefits which would have cost me nothing as I had paid my NI contributions and I would be paying even more income tax in the UK than I do now.

Worst Joke Ever 2025
billd766 replied to warfie's topic in Jokes - Puzzles and Riddles - Make My Day!
To quote a brilliant actor "Not a lot of people know that". born Maurice Joseph Micklewhite -
My wife is similar to yours. We have known each other for 30 years and been married for 23 of them. The big and the small house are hers, as is the land free and clear of any debt. She had one plot of land before we married and I willingly paid for the rest of the land and houses. When I die she will get my military pension and most of my company pension until she dies. My state pension sadly dies with me. quote from your post. "Not all of us are cynics". And not all Thai wives are the same. There are some real gems out there and both you and I have found one each, I am VERY glad to say.

Paetongtarn on course to becoming third Shinawatra to lead Thailand
billd766 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Part of the problem is that they had no idea how much money was available nor how much debt has to be repaid and when, as the previous government made it classified and secret. As for not paying every Thai over 16, why would you give it to a multi billionaire who probably makes more than that per day in interest alone, compared to a jobless Thai with a family to support . What should happen is that every Thai taxpayer earning over, for example, 100,000 per month should be excluded and their share either put back in the pot and shared with non tax payers, or put back in the pot so that less money needs to be borrowed. -

Far far better than yet another military coup where they simply steal the entire country. -
DEYE hybrid 10kw 3phase system install - questions
billd766 replied to McTavish's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
Thank you for that information. -
I agree. I am finding it harder to find decent topics worth reading and responding to. I have simply got bored with. in no particular order Trump/Biden Israel/Hamas USA/EU/Ukraine EV's Thai politics Grammar nasty's There seems to be too much one sidedness where if you have one opinion, some posters accuse you of being a terrorist supporter at best. I still enjoy Jokes and funnies What TVF started out as which was mostly about Visa and Immigration When I joined TVF nearly 20 years ago you could have a discussion on a thread and even if you disagreed with a poster, neither of you insulted the other and you agreed to disagree. It must be an age thing, as I am old and ANN/TVF is getting to the stage, for me at least of becoming not really worth bothering with any more.

Are we supposed to be impressed by that?

DEYE hybrid 10kw 3phase system install - questions
billd766 replied to McTavish's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
I hope that you don't mind me asking some questions How much did it cost you to reach this position and how much have you actually saved on your electricity bills during the same period? Will your system cope with the power requirements in April and May during the hot system? Did you install it yourself or get installed by a professional? How many years do you expect before you get your money back. -
I can understand that. Can you explain why the government has been willing to stop me voting, yet is always available to tax my pensions, yet has since 1948 refused consistently to increase my state pension in line with UK pensioners? If you can remember, America seceded from the UK simply because they demanded representation from the UK. The sad bit is, that if I lived in the USA, my state pension would be increased every year, but if I lived in Canada it would be frozen. NO taxation without representation.

I must remember that next May when I reach my 89th birthday

It also shows where you are at in your mind. Hamas is fighting with what it has against heavily armed troops, armoured bulldozers, tanks, ground attack aircraft, helicopter gunships who lay waste Gaza and ALL the Palestinians, not just Hamas. Israel has a total land, sea and air blockade around Gaza, They have cut off ALL food, water, electricity and communications in Gaza. That in itself is a war crime, never mind the number of innocent Palestinians killed murdered every single day by the IDF. https://www.bbc.com/news/live/world-middle-east-67258466 https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-middle-east-67257333 https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-67226957 https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-67252107 https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-middle-east-67254766 https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-middle-east-67211248

In my last 15 working years I averaged between 60 and 70 hours working a week, and the longest was 96 hours in Sri Lanka. Breakfast around 4pm then off to work, lunch around 9 pm and dinner about 7 am for 3 weeks, 7 days a week.

Trump in Iowa says indictments allow him to retaliate against Biden
billd766 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I really think that Trump has lost the plot completely, and sadly believes what he himself says. -
You are claiming all sorts of things without anything to back your words up. At least I gave you some links which you obviously didn't like. Is this the best response that you have? Do you truly believe that every body who has a different point of view to you is wrong and only the people that agree with you are right?

I get an SMS from the banks telling me the OTP I need to enter to complete a transaction. It is a 2 stage check. I do the bank work on my pc and I have to enter the OTP that goes to my smart phone to confirm that it is from me before the bank will complete the action. Wrong OTP, and the transaction is cancelled. .

The font I normally use is Comic Sans MS with a font size of 14 (the size is variable from 8 to 36) and the automatic colour is black. It can be made Bold with a single click and has other colours as well. It is of course from MS Windows. and is probably free for use as well.

Could that have been due to Prayuth's government raising the cost before they were kicked out and also because the PTP have only recently taken control.

But you will be able to save the money not spent on petrol or diesel to help pay your electricity bill.
