  1. I test my blood sugar every Monday morning before I drink or eat anything using my Accu Check Active Glucometer. I bought it on Lazada for 1,130 thb last May plus 50 extra test strips and 50 extra lancets for 487 thb. Only during this month, April 2024 has it gone past 7.0 since I started testing in June last year. That has given me an average of 7.7 and it is going back down again. Whilst it is not perfect, it does give me a fair idea of my blood sugar glucose and it only takes 2 or 3 minutes at home once a week.
  2. Rubbish. Nobody forces you to read any post.
  3. Setting things straight would be a good idea. How about you make a start by telling us all how you know all about it, and provide the links to back it up?
  4. "Will no one rid me of this turbulent priest person?" (spoken aloudⓘ; also expressed as "troublesome priest person" or "meddlesome priest") is a quote attributed to Henry II of England preceding the death of Thomas Becket, the Archbishop of Canterbury, in 1170. I suspect that whilst Putin may not have issued a direct order he may have spoken out loud and that would have had the same effect.
  5. Best not to repost that on the EV threads or the baying posters will be after you.
  6. What will happen then? Do you truly think that Israel and the IDF will stop the war, go back into their own lands and never again fire another shot at the Palestinians. Netanyahu has vowed to completely destroy Hamas. If Hamas gives up, do you truly believe that Netanyahu will also? Will he ever stop stealing Palestinian lands and giving it to illegal Israeli "settlers"? Even if he has to kill every man, woman and child in Gaza to do so. Will he also stop attacking the Palestinians in the West Bank and in Lebanon? Will he stop attacking Iran? Netanyahu ignores the rest of the world including the USA. Israel had a lot of countries as friends until he, personally ordered the destruction of Hamas and Gaza. Now his "friends" are much fewer and he cannot afford to keep upsetting them, but he will, simply because he thinks he can.
  7. quote "Do we have to wait for FFP? Or accept the status quo?" Unfortunately that is a question that I am unable to answer. AFAIR the provincial government will beg the national government for more money to pay the bill. Effectively meaning all the taxpayers in the country will have to pay for something that most of them will never be able to use. Possibly the best solution might be a desalination plant, but they are not cheap to build, run or maintain. Where I live in rural Kamphaeng Phet most of the water supply comes down the klong from the Mae Wong national park and is rain fed. At the moment it is possible to walk across the klong in most places without even getting the soles of your shoes wet. The alternative supply comes from Klong Lan Pattana, 6 km away, and only for several hours a day. The real problem is a national, if not an international problem with a lack of rainfall across SE Asia.
  8. If the TAT and the government want more money, then they need more tourists. To get more tourists, they HAVE to fix the infrastructure. Back to the chicken and the egg question.
  9. But but that would mean less money and less profits, and they can NEVER allow that.
  10. The lowest it has been out here in rural Kamphaeng Phet this April, has been 23.6C and the highest so far is 40.7 at 2 pm tis afternoon. Indoors, it is now 30.8C with the a/c on since 12:30.
  11. Even more fortunate was my mate I had dropped him a home 10 minutes earlier. If he had still been on the bike, one of us would have lost a left leg from the kneecap down.. I was in first gear with the throttle wide open and here was nowhere else to go and I couldn't go any faster. If I had tried to stop, the Mercedes behind me would have hit me. Since that time I am never the first one away from the lights.
  12. Thank you for your excellent interpretation. Many of the posters have blamed the biker, but nobody has tried to explain how and why they assert the blame. Simply that he was riding too fast, or he was on his mobile phone, or he wasn't paying attention. I used to ride a motorbike, but as I am 79, I quit a few years ago as I knew that if I dropped the bike, I could never have picked it up again. If I was underneath it, one or two people would have to lift it off me. I got T-boned a few years ago at a set of lights by a pickup truck who ran the red light and ploughed straight into me. I was thrown off, my left wrist was damaged and the repairs to my bike cost 10,000 baht. Fortunately I didn't need hospital treatment. Also where the accident happened was outside a police box and there was a policeman who saw it all happen and took my side. The only person who helped me was the policeman than saw it happen. That is why I get angry and defensive about car/motorcycle accidents. I doubt if any of the posters blaming the biker had seen that accident but they all seem to know it was his fault.
  13. How do you KNOW he was not paying the slightest bit of attention? Were you there, and did you actually see what happened?
  14. How do you KNOW he was driving too fast? How fast was he driving?
  15. I agree with you The problem is, I suppose it depends on who mostly wants the power and who is actually running the game. Whether the army is using the PTP to run the country, or the PTP is using the army. The army has the guns but less of the judiciary, and PTP possibly has the Thai people (and perhaps the RTP). I think it is up to he who cannot be named to make his mind up. he has a fairly large part of the army under his direct control, but not all of it.
  16. Sadly, I think that all the army radio and tv stations are still up and running.
  17. Or did the despised army sell out to the PTP, to retain some vestiges of power?
  18. How do you KNOW that the bike rider was travelling too fast? Were you there with a radar speed gun? Perhaps you managed to read the speedometer on the bike? Perhaps you have no idea, and are simply making an assumption or a guess?
  19. Looking at your post the car driver ALSO had plenty of time to indicate (which he didn't) and plenty of time to stop (he didn't stop either). So why should the bike rider be at fault?
  20. IIRC you claim that your Mum was bombed out during WW2. That means that YOU share the RAF responsibility with ALL Brits. If you really want to know the current policy, I suggest that YOU contact the MOD in the UK, and stop wasting your silly posts on me, especially as I left the RAF in 1984, some 40 years ago. The MOD and the government make policy, NOT serving airmen.
  21. I do hope not. That would be a cruel and unusual punishment to those poor innocent jurors, and I am sure that it would be against the Geneva conventions.
  22. Why do you persist in trying to drag up ancient history time and time again. The world has moved on from the 1940s. You, it seems have not. To my knowledge from 1960 to 1984 the answer is no.
  23. What confuses me is people like you who believe that every Palestinian is a Hamas supporter. Probably most Hamas people are Palestinians but NOT every Palestinian is a Hamas supporter. That would be akin to saying that every Jewish person is a Zionist which is clearly not true.
