Critics reject changes to Roald Dahl books as censorship

Would Dahl agree to his stories being mutilated by PC warriors? -
Oh dear, is this yet another farang that thinks they can tell Thais how to run their country. To repeat the oft used phrase- if you don't like living in LOS, you know where the exit is. Those slow songtheaws are providing a service for people, unlike the impatient morons that do risky overtaking and put pedestrians at risk.
-
BS. I'm as safety conscious as any, but I've traveled dozens of times standing on the back step of a songtheaw and been happy to do so as otherwise it would take twice as long waiting to get on one. If they make it sitting only, they are not going to double the number of songtheaws, as earning less per trip. They'll probably put up the fare to compensate. PS I enjoyed standing on the back step giving a virtual finger salute to those health and safety wonks back home that are crushing everything fun to do in western countries.

10 minutes isn't long. Did you read the OP?

The State Railway of Thailand is testing out the first battery-powered locomotive LOL. There have been been battery powered locos since 1905 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Underground_battery-electric_locomotives London Underground battery-electric locomotives are battery locomotives used for hauling engineers' trains on the London Underground network where they can operate when the electric traction current is switched off. The first two locomotives were built in 1905.

Two presidents, two speeches, two different world views

I'm sure he muttered a caveat after "till we don't want to anymore". Your list is excellent, but I'm sure you missed a few. -
Just heard on Al Jazeera that Russia has suspended participation in the New Start treaty. The world edges closer to nuclear winter- madness. https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2023/02/21/what-is-new-start-treaty/ The announcement sparked alarm among Western officials, who warned about the disintegration of the global arms-control architecture. Time to rethink western strategy in Ukraine?

I agree 100%. Children are not mature enough to make those decisions IMO, and parents are not always "good", to be trusted to make those decisions for them. If anyone wants to change gender, outwardly, they can still do so when they become adults. Not so long ago, no one had that option at any age, and society survived.

Israel declares temporary pause on new West Bank settlements

Situation normal, America "warns" or issues some meaningless statement, and does nothing to stop Israel doing whatever it wants. Shameful. -
Israel declares temporary pause on new West Bank settlements

The tragedy of the Palestinians continues, and the end will IMO be unpleasant all round. -
Working in Saudi, I was about to make my first visit to Thailand and asked a colleague that had been there where to stay. He said Nana Plaza hotel in Bkk and a place in Patong. Arrived at Don Mueang airport and found the counter that booked hotels including transport, looked for Nana Plaza hotel, but only Nana hotel, so ended up somewhere else along Sukhumvit. The guy had told me the wrong name by adding Plaza, so I missed out on an hotel right opposite the paradise on earth that was Nana Plaza, and went to the notorious Patpong instead. Arrived in Patong and told taxi driver where to go. He couldn't find it and asked a policeman who also "didn't know", but suggested another place, so went there, but it was miles away from the bar area. Later on, whom would I see visiting reception but the cop that suggested the place. I was not well pleased!

Was visiting Jeddah, and my travel companion wanted to go to a particular restaurant in an hotel. Told taxi driver name of hotel and we drove around a bit. Despite asking some people he always ended up at a different hotel. Eventually gave up and returned to our hotel only to see the hotel we wanted down the street a ways! Reminds me of first time I visited Chiang Mai when a Thailand newbie. I had read the Lonely Planet warnings that taxi driver would say "that place closed" to get customers to go to hotel where he got commission, so when I arrived and told taxi driver to go to place recommended in the book, and he said "that place closed" I insisted he take me there anyway. Got there paid fare and got out. As he drove away he must have been laughing like a drain as the place was indeed closed!

Agree 1,000,000%. Even though I knew all about that, I willingly allowed my "little brain" to take over every time I came near an available woman, to my everlasting regret as I enter the last phase of my life. The sad thing about it all, is that though it seemed wonderful at the time, and I know I had some great times, I remember almost nothing about "being there". If not for the photos, I wouldn't even remember their faces or what we did together. On the other hand, I remember vividly the two bad women in my life that took me for everything they could get and then discarded me as if I were nothing. Had I been using my "big brain", I'd never have got involved with them, as all the warning signs were there, but "little brain" was in control.

I'm sure I could ask a hundred and get 100 different replies. One of those political, plump, unattractive women with mancuts is no more similar to a beautiful woman that likes "partying" than a horse is to a dog, other than both walk on 4 legs. IMO you are just fooling yourself that you understand women.

Has the "Ukrainien-Fewer" reached Thailand?

I take it that is sarcasm. BTW, the USA is built on Native American land invaded by colonists. -

IMO only if they have lots of money and can pay.
