  1. I feel nostaglic all the time, but I know in my heart nothing was really as good as I remember it.
  2. IMO no such thing. I think it's the same as Utopia, a place everyone wants to be, but will never find. I've never known "normal". Every day is different, so how could they be "normal"? I'll accept that what we do every day can be the same, till they are not, so that could be a sort of normal.
  3. IMO thought is something beyond reality shown to us BY electrical impulses in the brain, but not CREATED by the electrical impulses. Ie we "see" images in our brain much the same way we "see" images on a tv. A tv shows us a picture by means of electrical impulses, but it doesn't create the pictures itself. They come from elsewhere. Far as I'm concerned our bodies just carry "us" around, but it isn't "us". For all I know we might be like a computer using the "cloud" and our brains are just a receptor for "us" beyond this planet.
  4. Supernatural ( beyond the natural ) is anything that can't be explained by science but is real to those experiencing such. Eg thinking of someone far away at same time as they think of you, or deja vu. Given my dreams are so weird, perhaps they are supernatural.
  5. LOL. That's the problem with religion, as some make stuff up, or pretend to be religious, or use religion for some other purpose. The three religions believe in Jehovah God, are good at their basis, but corrupted by men.
  6. Wrong. God to me is not a theory, ergo faith is a thing, not something to wondered about, or changed. The only place I discuss faith is on here. Nobody I know is religious or cares about faith enough to have a conversation about it.
  7. Agreed and I have always said that farangs should never ever buy ( by giving their wives money to do so- I know they can't buy it themselves ) land or houses in LOS. The tales of woe from those that have show that they are themselves to blame for doing so. I'm happy to say that despite many hints from my wife to build her a house I resisted till we got divorced. When I walked away I had given her far too much already, but at least I hadn't given her that.
  8. LOL. Just because western governments are IMO stupid enough to allow foreign "investors" buy land it doesn't follow that the Thai government should stop Thais taking advantage of IMO western stupidity.
  9. was to attend a demonstration. You think the FBI wouldn't have known if the intention was as you claim?
  10. If they get the expected majority in the house, and incredibly also win enough seats in the senate they could simply impeach Biden ( and Harris ), so no need to overturn an election to get rid of him. I assume an election for POTUS would then have to happen. However I doubt they will have enough senate seats to do that. Anyway, why would they overturn the election now if Biden's agenda has been stopped by a GOP majority? That's the main things to do IMO. 4 Days and counting!
  11. Indeed. However, it's difficult to reason with those that think all the rioters had to do to take over the country was to hang Mike Pence, and the army would obey them. Think there is something in the oath they took about the constitution, and not swearing to obey whoever is in the White House even if they are clearly illegitimate.
  12. I watched the entire thing on tv, live. It was mainly a bunch of people wandering around without even trying to disguise themselves. If it was a coup it had to be the worst coup attempt in history. I'm sure real coup makers laugh hysterically every time the western media describes it as a "coup" attempt. To carry out a coup one needs a means to force the country to submit and quash opposition- did you see tanks in your streets, armed soldiers erecting barricades? Don't think so. A coup is more than sitting someone in the big chair.
  13. No, just elect someone that does what you want.
  14. IMO hasn't been a decent US federal government since Kennedy, and both sides rotten, but that's pretty universal IMO. I'd like the whole lot of them restricted to 2 terms, Presidents and PMs to one and every spin doctor and lobbyist banned.
  15. The demonstration was indeed planned, but I doubt breaking into the Capitol was on the planner's agenda. I assume no more than you, unless I specifically say so.
  16. I'm pretty sure some posters have been crowing about Trump's apparent inability to get good lawyers for his court cases. I wasn't suggesting that that was the only reason for the cases to fail.
  17. Obviously I'm not Thai, but I hope they do cancel it. Allowing foreign "investors" to buy in NZ has IMO and that of many been a disaster, and I think the Thais are right to not allow such in LOS.
  18. I didn't see anything in the article to say that the Drs referred the case to hospital managers, in which case they may be at risk of losing their licence to practice. If they did so, and were ordered not to proceed, the management would IMO be the ones at fault, if indeed fault can be established. An investigation may find that her situation was not life threatening, and she was safe to travel to a state where an abortion could be performed. I think we should allow the inevitable court case to end before casting stones at the Drs.
  19. As I understand it, you are saying that the protestors became a mob threatening politicians because of the crowd dynamics. I'll agree to that as it makes a mockery of the claim that the invasion was "planned".
  20. The evidence they were given wasn't sufficient to convince the judge(s) that the case was proven. That doesn't mean that they were not rigged. Could be just second rate lawyers. Either way it's too late to change POTUS now, but I'd really like to know if it was rigged or not, which could only be decided by a proper bipartisan committee empowered to look at EVERYTHING.
  21. Good one, and we know they are true believers in "democracy" for all, LOL.
  22. Sooooo, 8 people claim to know everything about the election- yeah right! Given some conservatives and GOP politicians apparently hate Trump as much as any anti Trumper, I'd be interested in knowing their political bias.
  23. True. IMO the result may have been the same, but questions remain unanswered about some of the things that apparently went on. IMO the only way to lay the situation to rest is to convene a genuine bipartisan committee to investigate all the facts. Just saying it wasn't rigged isn't enough.
  24. I had to read the headline twice as thought misread it. Having grown up earning 3% interest on a Post Office savings account and mortgage rates of ( if I remember correctly ) 9%, 3% is not much at all, unless one borrowed half a million $ to buy a house they can't actually afford.
