  1. So well known I have no clue who he is, LOL. Perhaps you could give us a hint.
  2. Yes, and let's remember what happened to the Greeks. They got defeated by the Romans. IMO we are in the same era and our civilization is in it's end times. Most civilizations rot from within before they end.
  3. Were the girls Asian? When I lived in Singapore way back in the 70s the locals used to take loads of photos of themselves in places, eg I'd go to the botanical gardens and the locals were taking photos of each other, but none of the gardens and flowers. I never got what that was about. That of course was when film cost to develop and print. Since digital, the selfie and such as you wrote about has increased. My wife took loads of photos of herself and the food when we ate in a restaurant and posted them on facethingy.
  4. LOL. Vinyl never went away. Many stores still sell proper audio equipment including record players. I have about 200 vinyl records in store, but the only time I play them now is to convert them to digital so I can carry them on a flash drive.
  5. and can anyone prove he wasn't burning personal papers? Hardly proof a court of law would accept, but as pointed out, the committee isn't wasn't a court of law and has had no power to convict.
  6. I never said she had to provide proof, but without proof she could say anything she likes and it won't mean a thing.
  7. Isn't China already sanctioned, and isn't India an ally of the US?
  8. I saw that on Al Jazeera news this morning. Many missiles were intercepted ( at least one intercepted missile destroyed a Ukrainian house and damaged more ), but some got through to destroy more electrical infrastructure.
  9. No one doubts the bravery or the desire of Ukrainian soldiers to defeat the Russians, but IMO the outcome depends on whether the GOP will continue to give a blank cheque to supporting them. Next year will tell us about that.
  10. I don't get the point of anti tank mines, though anything is helpful. What they need are anti air and anti ship missile systems to prevent the Chinese actually landing tanks on Taiwan.
  11. They do like us to have to do their work for them!
  12. Ain't that the truth!
  13. Given that removing EU tyranny and freeing the British people from the shackles of faceless bureaucrats is the positive of Brexit, it's entirely relevant to the discussion. It will take time to be "better off" so one should always be patient. As the saying goes "Rome wasn't built in a day" Do you actually think that everything had to be "sunlit uplands" from day one? LOL.
  14. LOL. I can certainly think of descriptions for their responses, but be assured eloquent is not among them. As for deflections, surely you are not claiming that "your" side never does such? "worthless anecdotes"
  15. Oh dear. In these sad times if one is losing an argument just introduce racism to make the other side shut up. Thankfully that tactic doesn't always work.
  16. No point bringing up facts. It's all about Brexit, didn't you know? Sarcasm alert for those devoid of sense of humour.
  17. Given it's been hardly any time ( politically ) since brexit, and there has also been something called covid, plus inflation, why do the wannabeineuro posters keep claiming it's the end of the world that Britain isn't in the Eurozone anymore? It's like if they keep saying the same thing over and over it will make people believe they are right, and beg to be let back in. LOL. One wonders how Britain managed before they joined the EEC if it's so bad. Come to that, one wonders how they managed to rule a large part of the world if they are so pathetic now. In time all will be resolved for the benefit of the British people.
  18. So long as you don't have to sit with them, why is it a problem for you? I can think of hundreds of worse things to do.
  19. Be nice. They actually used shrink wrap instead of the usual insulation tape. LOL.
  20. When I was in Riyadh, I was told that when they introduced traffic lights ( before my time there ) the only way they could get drivers to obey the lights was to station cops there to throw stones at cars that drove through red lights.
  21. It's all about the photo opportunity. I doubt he ever has to actually walk on Pattaya streets to know what they are like.
  22. Not wanting to be a wet blanket, but assuming the panels and assorted accessories are expensive, is it false economy to try and DIY if not an experienced handyman? I learned everything I did by making mistakes the first time, but not normally anything too expensive or not easily fixed. I learned a lot by observing people that did know what they were doing the first time.
  23. I never said she was. I said that without proof of what was on the documents, her testimony is meaningless. IMO no court would convict based on that testimony.
