Two completly different animals/products. Sandwash uses normal cement & PebbleCrete uses Portland White cement. Sandwash has sand in the mix. The weakest part of the chain. It degrades easily with corrosive pool water! PebbleCrete uses quartz crystal. Number 8 on the hardness scale, diamond being 10! That is why a 5 yr product warranty can be given. PebbleCrete and it variants are used in most water parks worldwide for this reason. The acid washing that is done is completely different than the sandwash! With over 30 yrs in the pool industry, I can attest that PebbleCrete is the best pool surface product on the market bar none! So the claim is not dibious by any means! Also gets better with age as brushing polishes the crystal! Yes, it needs professional application otherwise no warranty! The last pool we renovated the customers responce (I will never have a tiled pool again) Calcium scaling in the salt cell has little to do with pH. Here is a recent refurb we did in Hua Hin.

Houses need rain gutters! Backyard verses 30 yrs eperience is enough! I have troubleshooted more pools than you could dream about! Leave it alone! Ok you have winged it with your pool. I have run pool service companies, you have NO idea what can go wrong based on your experience! However advising others to do same is ludicrous!

Fine if you don't mind all the filth that gathers on roof going into your pool. Totally unacceptable for sanitation & looks. Again another totally ridiculous post!

Cold water is good for your nerves! However, black poly pipe coiled on the roof and circulated via small pump will do the trick. Seen a couple in Straya that worked well! You can always ask the backyard expert Saanim. He would know & tell you how to do it at 10% the real cost! ????????????????

Are you finishing employment? If so, you can't extend your (permission to stay) you will need a new type of visa unless out of the country to apply for a Non-B. If you are staying employed your work permit is easily renewed. The (visa) "permission to stay" is the hardest! As far as I am aware they haven't brought any jabs conditions in yet. Sounds like a regrout is in order. We always drum test the tiles and re-glue any loose ones. Only time you really need to empty a pool is for repairs/reno or if the <deleted> (Total Dissolved Solids) are over 1500 ppm. Even then a partial dump and fill will do it. However if you do regular backwashes it would normally take care of this. Why not consider a resurface with PebbleCrete. You can buy peppermint spray of Lazada. Rats hate it. Cheap at about 150 baht for 2 areosol cans. I use it under my car bonnet as it was pointed out by my mechanic that I had rat foot marks all over the engine bay!

This the whole house system I provide and install. Dozens already! Big P.O.E (point of entry filter) with "Eco Clear" recycled plate glass media. Large size cartridge filter which filters down to 5 microns. (protects the UF) 2 x UF membrane (Ultra filtration) "automatic backwash" that filters down to point 2 microns. Nothing organic can get through. (This system is good for city water) If high chlorine I would include a carbon filter. Very low maintenance system. P.O.E needs backwashing "Monthly, cartridge normal change 3 months & UF needs 24 hr chemical flush 3 - 4 yrs. (you can take one of whilst the other still works) Eco Clear.pdf

The elbow won't make much of a difference given the length (head) that it has to deal with! As far as the brand being the worst, is becuase it and another similar are. Not just my opinion but my and a number of other pool builders experience, whom have had to change them. (You are lucky that you got ten yrs, but it sure would have been a diffent case if it was your main pool pump)!

People should not bag professionals either! Throwing stones & glass housing come to mind! Maybe a different approach & attitude instead of trying to bag people trying to make a living! My concern was bad advice given by a back yard expert! Potentially leading people down the wrong path!

The company docs basic cost is 1500. You would have been better of using a lawyer. My work permit & Permission to stay (Visa) costs me 32 k every yr. It is a hassle which I don't look forward to it. Especially when you don't know when they don't tell you until the day that they are coming to take photos of me and staff in the office. I run a pool building company and its a pain when this happens.

Again quoting from ignorance. Most pumps from GH have verly low flow rates and are rubbish. Do you have any idea of what you are talking about or you just go for the cheapest you can find?
