  1. You have misunderstood what this story is about, probably due to yet another poorly written headline. The entire article and the link is about Thai tourists and Thais reducing outbound trips. So everything you wrote is irrelevant to this thread.
  2. Totally agree. I guess knowing how individuals react was a source of conflict and could lead to further comment and that's why they were removed. But now we can't tell who the idiots are.
  3. Another stupid and unsubstantiated statement with nothing to back it up. Unless it was sarcasm.
  4. Not really. It's just parents not parenting. Shouldn't even have been on a motorbike that he would not be strong enough to handle properly. When I was his age I had to be in bed long before 10, even in summer when it was still light outside. That was tough, but my parents instilled discipline, an alien concept here.
  5. And those people are pathetic too, as they could be despising Russians who can't tolerate what their leader is doing. That might be the very reason the deceased fled to Thailand. We had a case a few weeks ago of a Russian who owns a restaurant in Thailand being condemned for being a Russian, even though he has lived in Thailand for 15 years. Thinking that all Russians support Putrid is the same as saying that all Thais support their government - when Thailand had one, that is. So yes, I do blame them for being ignorant quite frankly.
  6. You mean like the Safety First signs outside building sites which don't seem to work?
  7. Those who carry a gun only think they're tough, when in reality if they need to carry a gun it shows they're weak
  8. Here we go again. Someone has died, and almost immediately we get one person saying it's great news and another making a joke about it. What kind of people are you? What forums and social media has revealed is that there are a large number of pathetic human beings out there among us, you two included.
  9. It doesn't really affect us does it, at least not directly. It's their culture, their problem.
  10. Only one of the 2 who are or were at the very top are facing criminal charges. And that's why I wrote close to the top of the government. You know, as close as father and son. Although Trump supporters appear to be accusing the father, as that's convenient to them.
  11. I was brought up to never eat anything growing wild unless I knew it was safe. So I'm still alive. I'm still a bit worried about some of the things I see in the markets here though
  12. What a great country! Those in or close to the top of government related to both parties facing a multitude of criminal charges.
  13. The name of the mushroom might have provided a clue that it's best not to eat it.
  14. Irish tv shows a 'commercial', warning people about the dangers of electric wires and to be watchful if they are working near them. Thailand does what????
  15. Yes, as I wrote. I never click on suspicious links. Ever.
  16. An interesting theory, but I've never used a VPN for FB.
  17. From the linked article: Despite attempts to increase beach patrolling, the dearth of security personnel made it an impossible task to monitor the beaches every night. So where will the security personnel come from to ensure that the beach remains empty of people? If they lack the personnel to ensure no rowdy behaviour, where will they find them to check there is no-one on the beach? Did any reporter ask them that? I doubt it, but I can imagine the blank stare they'd get in response.
  18. The police get paid whether they work or not, so they see no reason to actually do anything.
  19. The usual sledgehammer to crack a nut Thai solution. Instead of arresting those disturbing the peace - you know, the police doing their job - ban everyone from the beach. Brilliant. Welcome tourists - no romantic walking on the beach at night, and no drinking or smoking on the beach at any time. You can do all that in your own country. We don't allow any of that nonsense here.
  20. You are good at twisting events and ignoring inconvenient truths. The alleged links with Russia are nothing at all to do with what he is currently charged with, backed up with mountains of evidence. The problem, and it is a huge one, is that many - but it seems a slowly diminishing number - accept all he says as true and everything against him as lies, despite video and other evidence. He is such a blatant liar in his own fantasy world, laughably so, that if his lawyers ever allow him to take the stand he will quickly be shot down in flames by people infinitely smarter than he is.
  21. Following up, I did change my password and among other devices it invited me to log out from was one in London. So I'm guessing it was a scam. I got the usual email from FB after changing the password, checking that I had done it.
  22. I was just going by what my policeman brother-in-law said. Of course, that doesn't mean much. He has one by the way, legal or not
  23. What happens outside of Thailand is not relevant to this site or this thread. I thought that was obvious. Sorry if I offended you.
  24. Today, I received this email (screenshot) which says it is from security@facebookmail dot com. Looks legit and it was sent to both my normal email address and the one I use for FB recovery. I haven't made a reset password request and my account is working normally. I also don't click on links I'm unsure of. Anyone else had something similar recently?
