  1. Over 50 years ago my wife was involved in a school bus accident, in which one pupil lost his leg. Nothing changes. Same old same old, decade after decade.
  2. It was too much to hope that they'd dedicate one terminal for China flights. Why the heck do they need two terminals just for domestic passengers?
  3. They claimed it had been inspected three days before, or the night before depending on which report you read. I guess that maintenance meant ticking the box on the check form, as actually doing the check was a case of maintenance Thai-style, 'no need, it working okay'.
  4. Care to explain the latter part of your allegation? Or is your post yet another of the pathetic and pointless posts I've read today. Examples please.
  5. Stickman can keep you up to date on stuff like that. It's only recently reopened but I've forgotten what was there before.
  6. TAT can spin it as a tourist attraction. Where else can you go out for an evening beer and be surrounded by police raiding the bar. Other times, they arrive and close them all down at midnight for no other reason than that they can.
  7. I wonder if that is one of the professions forbidden to foreigners. I didn't see it on the recent list. If not...... Could even stream the 'ceremony' on the internet for extra income.
  8. On the positive side, TAT can spin the street riots as a tourist attraction. Certainly, the last time didn't do the country any harm. If I remember correctly, the Baht actually rose.
  9. If Anutin takes over, which he won't, then our days are numbered here. We know what he thinks of dirty, smelly foreigners. He's made his feelings known many times.
  10. Has she told him why? Before she stopped talking to him.
  11. As I've said, that would not fit into their device that shows the limit of what can be taken on board. The fact the rule is ignored doesn't make it right to do so. It is selfish not to check in a case that size, leaving less room for everyone else. If everyone did that then 60% of the passengers would have no stowage space. I've been on too many flights, especially in the US, where people bring everything including the kitchen sink on board, with the flight delayed while the crew desperately try and find space for all the bags.
  12. I read a report of her saying she tripped with the suitcase and that damaged the 'combs' at the end which are not designed for the full weight of a person and suitcase forcibly crashing into them. Nothing to do with not taking the weight of a suitcase. As I wrote, the blame appears to be that of the airline (not the airport authority) must shoulder some of the blame for not making her check in a suitcase that was clearly, from the photos I saw, too big to fit into their 'basket' that says any carry-on must fit within it. Staff either at the desk or by the self check-in machines. But we all know how diligent Thais are in enforcing the rules, which are only there to be ignored.
  13. In which case, the airport is still at fault for letting her carry on that size of suitcase against their own procedures and regulations. I don't think that is up to the airport authority, rather that of the airline. So then we get into the endless legal wrangle of was it the airline to blame for either not making her check the suitcase, or if she self-checked was there a procedure in place to check carry-ons? And should the security check have stopped her before she headed for the gate? And is that a part of security's job, and is the airport authority actually involved at all? All very complex and a good money -maker for the lawyers. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.
  14. The group became seemingly angered at Shinawatra’s warning before they briefly left the beach only to return with 10 other teens. We would expect nothing else. Just part of the culture.
  15. Duh! Talk about leaving evidence in plain view. But then, Thai IQ level 88.
  16. In the original report that I read she did trip, over her suitcase. And that suitcase is why she will probably lose any legal challenge as it was too big to be carry-on and should have been checked in. If it had been.... Harsh I know, but it's a loophole the airport can exploit.
  17. This is quite a useful site: https://www.stilltasty.com/
  18. Not me. I blocked him long ago.
  19. If you click the link you can read about the other cases. The policy of this site is to only provide the first part of the article, and a link is provided to read the complete report. Bizarrely, sometimes the link provides no more info and the link is pointless - unless it is to attract people to the site of the original article, perhaps for commercial reasons.
  20. I guess those that sent the rocket up didn't do Step 2 thinking and realise that what goes up must come down. As a young teenager in the UK I used to deliver newspapers before most people were out and about, and after the night of November 5th I'd often see spent rockets in the road. But they weren't the huge deadly things that Thais like to send skyward with absolutely no thought of the possible consequences. They do the same with Loy Krathong lanterns, which sometimes set fire to things when they come down.. Step 1 thinking = Launch. Step 2 thinking = they have to come down thought not available to Thai.
