  1. I don"t think he is looking for reasons, I think he found them. I am also all for EV, but not as a primary vehicle and not at this time. We have toyed with the idea of an EV for around town where we do most of our driving. But we like to hit the road for long trips every once in a while, and it just requires way too much planning with and EV. Some might not mind it, but many do. But they technology and range is improving every year and prices are going down.,so perhaps in a couple of years who knows.
  2. I won all the money I would have lost if I ever played. The lottery is a tax on poor people.
  3. They expel the nutjobs. If they were to expel because of criminal behaviour, there would be no one left in congress. He faces reelection soon and hopefully his constituency will remove him.
  4. Apparently, tequila does not make you only happy! What are you talking about? He was not expelled for his sexual preference. He was expelled because of his outrageous behaviorally unbecoming of the office.
  5. only half right. Congress has two institutions. The house of representatives and Senate Members of the house have a two year term. But Senators have a six year term. But the point is moot anyway. Criminal behaviour is not nessacery for expulsion, according to the constitution it requires a 2/3 vote of disorderly behavior,.
  6. This is wrong in two levels. If there are overwhelming evidence of criminal behaviour, what do you do? do you let someone remain in office while the case goes through the legal system? If that's the case the damage to the country could be substantial. while the case is being litigated. But of course we can't have congressmen and senators' removed for political reasons, That's why the constitution provides mechanism for removal that requires two thirds of congress to vote for expulsion. Same as it does for amending the constitution. Second , Criminal behaviors' is not nessacery for expulsion. Article I, section 5 of the United States Constitution expressly states " disorderly behavior," requiring also a 2/3 of the house to vote for removal, As we said 2/3 of the house to remove that would require substantial bipartisan participation. No way would the Democrats or Republicans vote to expel a member of their own party and leave a seat open and in play, if there wasn't sustancial justification. As it is the vote was a substantial 311-114 which is almost three fourths!!!!
  7. The grammar police strikes again!!! When one has lost an argument , resorts to attacking his opponents grammar Do you even realize ,what a capitulation that is? We can go on all day. "yes it is" "no it's not" "Yes it IS". "NO IT"S NOT" Perhaps try a witticism such as "You are a poopy head" But that does not advance the conversation. Right or not , I made a point and tried to defend it with my reasoning of how I arrived at that conclusion. If you disagree , as you seem to be present you reasoning why you disagree or take a walk. Both viable options IMO .
  8. Proof certain that there is no God. If there was one kissinger would had died a long time ago from a horrible and long lasting disease. The world is a better place without him.
  9. Same here, which explains some of my early morning posts. Wife sleeps like a baby until at least 7am. I am jealous!! I am a morning person , which annoys her to no end (winning!!) Get Up , make my coffee, Scan google news to see if anything interesting happened while sleeping , Florida in the US is exactly 12 hrs behind, so I Chat of FB messenger with family and friends, I check this forum to see what trouble you all got in while I was sleeping. and set you all straight? Then I get on my truck and drive 5 min away to the farm, water flowers, and veggies', putter around until .Wife joins me at the farm a couple of hours later and brings breakfast.
  10. Throw the a-hole in jail and get it over with. Any one else acting like he does would be behind bars waiting for trial, Why not him? The judge in this case seems to be lenient towards him to exhibit that justice in the US is fair, while exhibiting the total opposite, There is one set of rules for the common people and another one for the rich and powerful. Shame to trump, and shame to the judge for not doing the right thing.
  11. so does everyone else. I think you just like to argue, just for the sake of arguing. All activity in your country, and any other country is administered by your goverment. So if people from other countries come after you, for perceived or real grievances. Which is if you remember what this conversation is about. You would tell them, "Dont come after me, it is not me, it is my goverment, Go after my goverment not me!!! NO NO NO, don't go after this goverment , this goverment is good, go after the past goverment , the one that was bad. " Anyway,I have been very patient with this conversation , But now I am convinced that you are right, and that nothing I can say will convince you . Thank you for engaging me in this conversation
  12. On then that's your goverment ,
  13. If I was to ask you. " How is your goverment constituted" How would you respond? My goverment consist of.....................
  14. unfortunately this seems to be the situation around the world. IMO Those who voted for an egregious issue are guilty, but could also be guilty of being misguided. Those who voted against it are guilty by association. But those who did not bother to vote are the most guilty of all. . I am American , so when it comes to wool, I defer to those from NZ and I am not prepared to talk about them. Perhaps you are right and from now on I might have to qualify my statement with a "everyone in the world is guilty except Kiwis.they are just stupid " Don't know much about NZ politics, but I do know this NZ ranks 17 th in the world for standard of living. Higher than the UK , France , and Canada. (to mention a few) So I would venture to say that their governments must be doing something right. I could keep trying , but you seem to be doing a pretty good job of that .
  15. Sorry to hear that, as I said , for me it was Very easy. I hope you are near the Embassy.. Not sure why they would say that. There might be some complication that requires you do , as I said mine was very straightforward, Or perhaps they are not entirely sure how to do a RON or don't want to bother because it requires extra work on their part. Good luck!
  16. I guess it all depends where you are, Here in Khon Kaen even as recent as a couple of months they would set up on the ring road right before the intersection to Mittraphap rd, they mostly checked windshields for registration stickers, suspicious looking vehicles and badly loaded trucks, and bikes. We are always waved on. In my almost 20 years in Thailand I have been pulled over 2 times . both for speeding, and I was guilty both times. Just the other day , the wife mentioned that we have not seen the police at the checkpoint for a while. She said that it must be the new goverment,. I am not sure why but, now that I think of it, I have not seen them around for a while also also.
  17. Strong enough internet to have a two way teleconference. You might be able to do it at an internet cafe,(Not sure because I never done it there) or create a hotspot with your telephone. It's been a year since I last did it , For me it was a straightforward deal , because I did not have a mortgage on my properties, so my end was simple. Title company send me the settlement, i reviewed it, I send it back for some corrections, revised settlement was send back to me, title company set up an appointment with the RON notary I logged on at the link provided to me , I guess there are many subcontractors that work for the notary agency. A very nice guy answered, and he walked me trough what needed to be signed. It was very easy. We live in Khon Kaen and it would had been a hassle to go all the way to BKK and between airfare and hotel, it would had cost me a lot more than the notary fee. Also the US Embassy will notarize what ever you bring them, where the notory , already had the package from the Title company, and knew what we needed to sign. Your title company should be able to set the whole thing up for you. Simply ask them what they think. But I think that since you can log on and do it any time, you can make sure you do it where you have good internet.
  18. I agree If I was in that situation . I would get an Agent, they have ways of smoothing things out.
  19. Not to worry you have the one year extension. When the extension expires ofcourse you will not be able to do another extension based on marriage, for obvious reasons, so if you still want to remain in Thailand long term, and you are old enough simply do an extension based on retirement. If you don't have the funds get an agent , much cheaper thank getting married again But if you are a masochist like me, go for it again LOL
  20. Then no problem , Come with your Russian , when everything is settled with your US Papers , leave the country and come back With your US passport. .
  21. Again , you don't need to do all that. IN Florida it is called a RON closing. Below is a copy of the initial email I got from My title company (In FL the title company does the closing) " I removed the name of the agent for privacy reasons. " forgot to ask for your current address in Asia. I will need it to set-up the RON closing. Do you have a camera on your computer? You will need it for the video session with the notary. Thanks, Closing Assistant Southern Title Holding Company, LLC " Talk to your closing agent and asl them to set up a Remote, Online Closing (RON) (assuming it is available at your state) and if you have a camera on your phone or Laptop ask for a RON notary. I think it was $120, but well worth it, , Last closing we did it in 20 minutes while I was sitting in my Livingroom in Thailand
  22. Your post is a bit confusing, At least for me it is. Where are you now? Are you outside Thailand? if so are you planning to come to Thailand with your Russian passport because you get 90 days with it, and wait while your paperwork in the US is finalized, when the paperwork in the US is done, you want to know if you can exit Thailand ( of course with your Russian passport) and then re-enter with your American because your job is with the American passport, If I got all of this right, I don't see why not.
  23. These are all rationalizations we all use. Unless you renounced your citizenship, the goverment is your goverment whether you call it that or not. The majority of the people in your country elected them, and we all happily enjoy and are proud of all positive products of that relationship, those things we don't like we happily blame on others. As far as "despite every single person I know despising them " Of course everyone you associate with would despised "them". The people you associate with tend to reflect your own mindset. Guess what . the people that liked "them" associated and knew they were going to win because everyone they knew liked "them" Bottom line. There are no innocents. Just less guilty ones
  24. To Kho Chang?
