Geert Wilders' victory in Netherlands election spooks Europe

I agree with you. Immigration need to be managed so that each country addresses its own needs. If illegal immigration is allowed, not only does the system falls apart. but it encourages more illegal immigration. But I am afraid that some people confuse immigrants with refugees. I am sure many "refugees are realy economic immigrants" but there are situations where people are real refugees and their lives are really in danger. Forcing people to work is a slippery slope, but incentives could be provided to induce people to work. Putting aside the labor shortages, The excuse is always Americans do not want to pick produce in the farms. Nooooo, Americans don't want to pick produce for $5 and hour, Pay them $15 an hour and you will see how many Americans will want to do it. But , but, it will make produce more expensive! Sure it will but that's the price you have to pay. Otherwise you need to bring in seasonal labor . foreigner comes in, picks the produce. makes some money and then goes back home. Indeed that a solution. But before it happens there will be significant , domestic, and international dislocation. When they talk about Universal income , many start screaming socialism. There will be resistance. and the players will use those who scream socialism for their own political ambitions. It will only happen after the pain is so intense that "Socialism" would be the only viable solution. But until then there will be a lot of pain. Remember, Production is only one part of the economics equation. Without consumers production is useless. I am afraid we are heading for very interesting times. -

It all starts with one. I realise that in every country there is a significant number of people that disagree with it's policy and do the best they can to oppose it . On both ends of the political spectrum. But IMO it is cop out to say it's not us . it is our goverment! . For all the good things we proudly declare , It is my country , but for the bad things "It is not us it is our goverment" ! do you see the discrepancy? No one is innocent, it is only that some are more innocent than others. -

This whole concept went way over your head. Of course they would want to come to the UK, and ofcourse they would want to stay . They would not if conditions were better at their own countries. Do you think they wants to leave their family , country , and friends , to come to the UK for the wonderful, climate, wood and people.? I am sure you will agree that if conditions were better at their country of origin , they would rather stay with their family country and friends. So consequently, the places you will get immigrants would be from distressed locations. This is a universally accepted concept among sociologists. So the hispanic countries of the Americas then? Problem is, it is too far for UK immigration. Not easy for them to get to the UK as African and Middle Eastern locations. Immigrants lacking in recourses will take the path of least resistance. Where it is easier, such as going to the US, they do. You don't think people in the US are having problems with immigration from south and central America? Do they " "Abuse it" ? or do they "Use" it ? Obviously immigrants by definition would would be poor, with our social safety nets ,and as such would require assistance. Obviously the benefit they provide , would be greater than the cost , otherwise immigration would not be desirable. Nonsense, It is our goverment. and such actions are supported by our taxes. We paid for it. -

Of course manage. The problem is that different people have different ideas how to manage. First we need to understand that immigrants will come from places that need to migrate to our country. No one wants to leave their country and culture, their family, friends they grew up with , and language to come to your country where they don't understand our culture, our language, have no friends, unless they have to. So you will not get Belgians and Swedes, you will get people from exotic places with which you have little in common. Second . When asked why he robbed banks, Sutton simply replied, “Because that's where the money is. A bit of the same with immigration, We will get people from where the people are . or where conditions are bad enough that people are willing to put up with coming to our country. That would more often than not , be from muslim countries. Why? because Muslims have a higher birth rate.and conditions there are bad. "so why not an all out ban on Muslim immigrants everywhere " partly , as I explained above. " "That's where you will find conditions and birth rated conducive to producing people willing to migrate" Also because like every other human population, not all Muslims are the same, for the most part Muslims are decent , hard working , and many of them very well educated. And there is a vocal minority that hates us. Will we throw the baby out with the bath water? Did you ever stop and think why they hate us? Do you think it's because they are genetically predisposed to hate us? or do you think we do things that cause them to hate us? Perhaps we might want to think about doing a bit less of the thinks that makes them hate us. -
To be honest I have never played the lottery, neither here or back home so I dont know much about it . Wife plays all the time and she often runs to me excited because she won 1000 bht .I don't want to ruin it for her so I don't mention the fact that she has lost thousands of baht before she won the one thousand. The three numbers above are also separated by 3 , so not knowing much about lotteries I would say the emphasis is on 3. Statistically you have a better chance of winning if you always play the same set of numbers. If you keep changing , it is possible that none of the numbers you chose will ever come up, but if you keep playing the same set of numbers, eventual that set of numbers will come up. It might take a million years, but given enough time they will come up. This is an argument I can't lose, because if you complain all I have to say is that you have not played long enough. One time my mother told me that she was quitting cigarettes. I replied, "sure i heard that before" No she said I bet you any amount of money that I will never smoke as long as I live. Sure I told her, I will take that bet. The only problem for you is that you can never win while you are alive.

You my friend are a funny man. Loved it!!

No one knows how this thing will be structured. I suspect that they do not know also. I suspect that it will be some mechanism to tax income earned by expats and brought into Thailand, and would entail double taxation exclusions. I can believe that they will be as stupid as to tax savings that someone wants to bring to Thailand , and spend here , thus investing in the Thai economy . At which point some will move to greener pastures, and others will import the bare minimum. If all moneys I bring to Thailand are taxed, I will simply move to Greece where there is tax reciprocity with the US, there is a tax reduction for income imported into Greece and you get permanent residence with a pathway to citizenship. But I trolly don't believe they will that stupid , so don't worry, nothing is written is tone yet, and it might even never be, Thai politicians are big at making announcements.

I am not in the habit of spreading unfounded rumors. and did not say that you were hacked but rather that one of the servers you use to host the forum was hacked. I think I read on your FB page, ot at the forum I don't remember where that there was a breach at one of the servers the forum was posted , I think it was a US based server, and that part or all had to be moved to a different server. Did I imagine that ?
-
I agree My understanding is that there sever , or one of the servers that was hosting the forum got hacked and they had to move the forum to a different server. Not sure what is involved with tis and is some files were corrupted. but I am sure they are working hard to restore functionality , we need to have patients, I am sure they will resolve everything in due time.

Just make sure you print a page every a few weeks otherwise the inck can dry in the delivery tube and then you have to run a clean cycle, But once the cleaning cycle did not work . and I had to take it to the shop to have it clean Not sure if this is still a problem with the newer machines.

Good point But I think I would know! She is now 28 and a case manager for a very conservatives law firm , while working on her law degree. Don't think she be able to do that and do drugs. But you are right she would never tell me, so there is a chance.

Are you sure it was not all the girls you dated ?

After reading your post, I checked, and it seems you are right! mine is gone also. They should have a setting where they automatically clear after a length of time of your choice

I just checked after I responded to GinBoy on the subject , and a pack of Marlboro reds in NYC is now $16 a pack!!
-
Same here I never smoked and never had a tattoo , personally I don't find it attractive, but I understand why others might find it attractive. My Brother in law was a one pack a day smoker, we commuted to work together in the US , and one day he asked me to get him a pack of Marlboros red. I was shocked to find out that at NYC they were , if I remember correctly $12 a pack, so I did the math. 12x30= 360. I said "Kevin do you realise that you spend over 360 a month for cigarettes ? brother I said ' that could be the payment on a brand new F150!! (that was a few years ago ) god only knows how much it would cost now days. Same for tattoos. I told my daughter " Honey I only want three things from you, 'Don't smoke cigarettes, stay away from drugs, and don't get tattoos. because what you find important to write on your body now, might not be imported or desirable 40 years from now. So one day she shows up with tattoos on her ankles, smoking a cigarette . I guess two out of three is not bad.
-
When you reach the level of perfection that I have , there is very little one can do to improve his appearance. As such, I am afraid that tattoos will only detract from the magnificence that is me. Also I am too cheap to get one.

Anyone Else Finding AseanNow Almost Unusable Recently❓
sirineou replied to Skeptic7's topic in Forum Support Desk
Yea, very slow here also. But the way I understand it, there was a cyber attack at one of the servers where the forum was hosted, and they had to move it to a different server. As such they are experiencing moving issues that I am sure they are working very hard to resolve. I am sure it will be Ok in the next few days. Otherwise I am asking for my money back -
Wrong! He is being prosecuted for lying about being in possession, refusing to give then back, and Trump was guarded by the secret service, not the document. Mar_a-Largo is a social club with members and guests going in and out. Presidents bo not for the most part move these things themselves, and as such he did not . He was surprised when they were found, and he promptly returned them. You are simply spewing republicand talking points. If Hillary Clinton did anything illegal , and was not prosecuted, it is the fault of your boy trump. He held both houses of congress and was in charge of the AG office. But he did not! you know why? because there was no there there. Or your boy trump was an idiot. Personally, I think both

Not sure if it applies to your sister in law, but something to be aware of. If available at the hospitals available to her, and if the problem is Aortic valve, and there needs to be a valve replacement, Have her look into TAVR valve system,. It is a system where they go trough through a main artery and don't have to open you up. Opening the chest cavity can be traumatic. It is offered at the Queen Sirikit Heart Center of the Northeast in Khon Kaen, so I am sure there must be an equivalent hospital in your area that offers it. More info of the procedure at the link below' https://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/transcatheter-aortic-valve-replacement/about/pac-20384698

Thank you Stick welding is not my strong point also. I had done a bit of oxyacetylene welding back then, and I was pretty good at it, so I thought I would also be good at stick welding (Arc) . I was surprised how bad I was at it, a totally different ball game. I just practices on a couple of pieces of scrap , and spot welded first and then tap tap I finish the weld. Trust me it required a lot of grinder. I understand that gas-less Mig welding is a lot easier. The price on them has started to come down alot. If you are going to buy a welder, get a Mig. Going to the states for christmas, as soon as I come back, I am getting one. But if you don't want to deal with welding you have a couple of options. First is getting someone else to do it. Thais are pretty good at it, and they work cheap. second is you can use , L brackets and corner brackets like you used joist hangers in the states. With the large metal roofing self tapping screws you can make a joint as strong , if not stronger than weld.

Yea I know, but there are so many of us here from different countries that use different terms, so I thought I would use both terms so that all would have an idea of what I was talking about. Here in Thailand they cell a a think composite board that IMO is better than the cement board we get in the US, and it comes in 4x8 lengths rather than the (if I remember correctly) 3x4 Hardie board (cement) in the USA

For the most part it was welded , some of the roof beams were attached with L brackets because of the complex angles. The steel was first painted a light brown and then the corner posts and the perimeter of the ceiling received a wood grain faux finish. If I had to do it again I would buy a Mig welder, Stick welding is difficult. If you ever decide to do something like this, PM me and I will share things that I learned as I was doing this.
