  1. Then Thailand must be very popular with space aliens. + a lot of 'probing' done at some of the temples. Gosh, I do love living at the circus, full time.
  2. very curious with how you are treated, under those conditions. where is your IO.? my IO seems to freak out at anything other than a 800k cert, (+ for the first time this year, a 12 month detailed statement of the term deposit account ''in case i was cheating'' (ffs ! ) + all the other paper work, including 12 months savings account (more paranoia -'' to make sure i spend the money in Thailand''. if only they spend more of their time chasing down illegal non-resident Asian businesses/land holding cos. TIT 🙂
  3. a question, please? - does Bualuang (bangkok bank) still have an online app which you can use on your PC? some additional background: I agree, as to SCB. I do use their mobile app. - which is great. but one negative is, you cannot transfer funds TO Canada! (that stunned me a bit, maybe they don't like Trudeau?) . i also have accounts with several other banks. One of which is Bualuang (BBank). they have a good feature - they do allow transfers of Thai currency to Canada, online.
  4. post script - advice from our agent - NEVER pay your premiums to the agent - (who may go bankrupt or abscond). ALWAYS pay premiums directs to the insurer. and only insure with a
  5. off topic, as we are permanently residing here in Thailand. our ins. is limited to in-patient. started in our 50's when we retired here. switched to an excellent farang agent (well known here at AN). we're both 80 and still receiving renewal notices. our deductible is minimal. Thai Medical Ins Co.
  6. same same - switching this year to the 65k monthly income method and getting my 800k back. the Income Fund I invest in pays 12% per year, quarterly distributions, (that is pre-w/h tax of 10%) . this is a great country to live in, if you (i) keep your cool and (ii) keep your wits about you.
  7. to be clear, when you write 1M5 did you mis key 5 instead of MM......i.e. did you mean 1.5MM or something else? tia easily confused.:)
  8. trying to get a feel for the basics of what a first time home purchaser needs to arrange to qualifit y for bank loan financing. - not one of the big developers. it is an existing house, in Surathani town. listed privately for 1.79 million baht. only thing I am interested in, is there a standard % of a deposit ( i mean equity) that the buyer has to have?.Tia.
  9. i suggest you inform yourself on 2 issues: 1. it is a known fact that Netanyahu financed Hamas, in order to ensure that the Palestinian Authority did not gain enough political power, so as to win statehood.. 2. PRo-Isaeli friends from the States argue that ''you have to go back to the time of King David'' What rubbish. if we all use that argument, then for starters, let's rewrite history - to suit each of our beliefs; which is what Israel is trying to do. Recreate Judeah. Further along that line of irresponsible (criminally illogical) thinking - the US should surrender the land they stole from the NA native Indians.
  10. excellent info source. please share. no, but i he goes to BKK a lot and I'd imagine his offer will be to take it there to get the battery replaced,
  11. good idea - the Advice (sp?) - they used to be in Surat town. not sure of they moved. but will check it out best idea yet.
  12. thanks will check it out. my recollect is that the tricky part s re-sealing the tablet afterwards. actually, there is a PC teckie in our village. fingers crossed.
  13. that's a fair comment. The 2nd thing that crossed my mind, after reading what weapon used was used by the gun man ('boy' ?) was - THANK GOD he didn't know about the weapons available to him, in accordance with Trump's Supreme Court ruling about bump stocks ''not being guns'' Justice Roberts. Are bump stocks illegal? Bump stocks remained illegal for nearly all US civilians until the regulation was struck down on June 14, 2024, by the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Garland v. Cargill. Imagine that - if only the shooter had been following the news.
  14. the annoying thing is, just before 12 month warranty ended, in Dec 2023, i returned the Surface, complaining about poor battery performance. they either fixed it (or, most likely, gave me a replacement refurbished unit). i am 90% certain they returned my model to me. maybe i should cut my losses and quit. except I'm committed to a massive coastal erosion project on my land. so money is too tight to mention 🙂
  15. thanks for advice. i'm living in a village in NST. Nearest town is Surathani. i've sent my wife's several iPads, to BKK., to have cracked screens replaced. the shop doesn't do Surface tablets
  16. i love you too much, woody 🙂
  17. oh for some posts worth reading, than this tripe. has anyone noted the obvious subject being missed. the lack of control over gun purchases in the USA (shooters dad bgt the gun and did not lock it up) is the main reason for this tragedy. Just like all the innocents who get shot dead every year. due to people like you.
  18. sources, Skipalong ? just post 10 examples, would ya?
  19. you'll have to buy a bicycle, to follow me around......gas stations, restaurants, parking lots. it will keep you busy from posting mentally challenging responses 🙂
  20. getting desperate, are we? to 'read' something into this is just just not there.
  21. feed back i get from the service staff at various Sizzler outlets i eat at, is that customers using QR do NOT add a tip. In fact, well to do Thais are notoriously cheap with tipping. hell, i'll even tip the petrol station staff.
