  1. Just don't buy any green bananas. This website might have some info. All in Thai unfortunately. https://www.opel.in.th/index.php?board=45.0
  2. If Rwanda is truly a safe refuge for people escaping genuine risk in their home country, then I don't see a problem.
  3. This was my experience at Pattaya/Jomtien also.
  4. Yes, 3,500,000,000,000 divided by 40,000,000 = 87,500 THB
  5. Bloomin' hek! Just out of interest, what car does the school director drive?
  6. LM, defamation and computer crimes laws are constantly abused in order to stifle any meaningful change. I do not expect any significant change during my lifetime (maybe 30 years, max).
  7. I apologise for my pedantism but "frig" is an act of sexual intercourse. The correct abbreviation of refrigerator is "FRIDGE".
  8. Anyone have a quick cure for a crick in the neck?
  9. That would work "hopefully" - except that the driver will often pay an on-the-spot "fine" of 200/400 baht and go on his way. TiT, and I don't think it will change any time soon (unfortunately).
  10. And ask the IRS how much money was lost due to his misinformation.
  11. I was just pointing out an amusing irony. But, thank you professor, I stand corrected.
  12. Isn't it ironic that Hertz is a measurement of electrical current frequency.
  13. James Hook. The loss of his hand is just a cruel irony.
  14. Good suggestion. https://aseannow.com/topic/1211660-honda-ct125-a-testing-ride-around-issan-and-the-north-of-thailand/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1278615-an-entertaining-tour-by-ct125/
  15. Nice way to change the tone of my post by omitting the main point. Also, did you read my reply that indicates that joint accounts can be used?
  16. I addressed my comment to DrJack. It was really a question about whether the account could be used. I know that joint accounts could be used years ago. The op said that she did not think it would be accepted, which is not the same as saying that she knew it wouldn't. Edit to add: It does appear that joint accounts can be used, but immigration will only recognize half the funds. https://www.legal.co.th/resources/visa-immigration-law/thailand-immigration-law/joint-bank-accounts-and-thai-retirement-visa-extension/
  17. @DrJack54 The op has said they have a separate joint account. I seem to recall that joint accounts are accepted but immigration will only count half the balance.
  18. I don't know about the whole of Thailand, but in Pattaya the Father Ray Foundation is very well known and takes care of hundreds of kids. https://www.fr-ray.org/ https://www.fr-ray.org/father-ray-childrens-village/
  19. I once used my soup spoon to eat my dessert. I don't think I will ever recover from the embarrassment.
  20. That message usually means that the topic has been closed, or has been suspended whilst the mods decide whether it should be closed. Anything published here, that can be considered lese majestes, libelous, defamatory, or slanderous under Thai laws, could result in the whole website being closed down.
