  1. Don't fix it, it's funnier like it is๐Ÿ˜…
  2. All non-O visas are good for 90 days. Assuming 62 gets an annual extension then 35 can do the same.
  3. The younger can get a non-O piggy-backing on the others non-O. And should they get an extension to stay long term can do the same on that also. The older should get their non-o first and the younger shortly after, as the olders visa will be needed for the application. Non-Immigrant O (Visiting Non-Thai Family Residing in Thailand) The following documents must be uploaded in the E-visa system in large and clear JPEG or PDF format (the file size must not exceed 3MB): Passport biodata page or travel document (must be valid within 6 months from travel date) Photograph of the applicant, taken within the past six months Document indicating current location (driver's license, bank statement, or proof of stay) A copy of a recent savings or checking bank statement showing an ending balance of at least $1,000 per person or $2,000 per family, with the applicant's name and date. If submitting a family bank statement (joint account), proof of relationship (e.g., birth certificate, marriage certificate) must be provided Personal details of a non-Thai family member in Thailand, such as a valid government-issued ID card, passport with Thai visa page, work permit, or stay permit in Thailand Proof of relationship to a non-Thai family member in Thailand (immediate family only), such as a copy of the marriage certificate, birth certificate, or adoption certificate
  4. No, Kasikorn. I'd give it a try anyway.
  5. Last year I resurrected an old bank account with no bank book (I told them it was in England). Only needed my passport. New book issued.
  6. Because rules change over time. It used to be easy to open a bank account as a tourist, now it isn't. Immigration aren't concerned if it is easy for you or not and the banks aren't bothered if you can get a visa or not. Agents exist to ease the process by paying somebody to bypass the rules. How you find one in Khon Kaen is another question.
  7. Not required. They may ask to see your flight from US to Thailand but they wont ask to see any onward travel details.
  8. Yes you will. But they will want to see your bank account with 400k in it when you apply.
  9. Not quite. You will be in a chicken and egg situation. In order to get the non-O you will already need to show the 400k in your bank account, which will be hard to achieve without the non-O. Hence it was mentioned earlier that you may need to use an agent to get an account opened. You'll have plenty of time to do this, 60 days plus possible extension, but it won't be as easy as the e-visa would have been.
  10. Yes, there is a lot of misinformation out there, even on some embassy websites. Immigration only rarely ask to see a ticket and it is always and ONWARD ticket that is needed. You will enter VISA EXEMPT, it is not a tourist visa.
  11. No, that is not correct. You do not need a round trip ticket. It is an onward ticket. Hence my suggestion of a cheap ticket to Cambodia. You do not have to use it. Most likely immigration wont ask anything in any event, it is normally the airline that asks to see it when checking in.
  12. She doesn't qualify. From the earlier quoted mail from Kasikorn; "is an email that the bank has sent to foreign customers who have deposit account with Kasikornbank and pay taxes abroad and have never filled out the FATCA/CRS form."
  13. You don't need a round trip ticket. You only need an onward ticket. That could be a cheap $40 hop to Cambodia. Or you can rent a ticket.
  14. Are you sure it's a Thai form - the only "W9" i've seen is from the US IRS.
  15. No idea. With PR do you get a 13 digit ID number? If not you'll have to get a TIN from the tax office.
  16. Yes, the yellow book ID number will be the same as you TIN but it is not an automatic process. You still have to register at the tax office. And should you do so and not show your yellow book/pink ID they will give you a different number. But in the meantime using that number if asked for your TIN seems good enough, that is what I intend to do if needed.
  17. You are definitely going to need to show that money in an account in your name, either in US or Thailand. So you've jumped the gun by sending it to your wife. Sending it back may not be as easy so hopefully you've got some more laying around somewhere. From the embassy website; " A recent bank statement showing the applicant's name and an ending balance of at least $15,000, or proof of a monthly income of at least $1,500, along with the current bank statement showing incoming deposits"
  18. As stated in the letter it's slower. But in practice it will probably be very similar to what it is now, based on the reports from other countries, and from my own personal experiences.
  19. Because they didn't start e-visa yet. As the letter says, until 20 December apply in person.
  20. A good question, iirc it was less clear that the forms were attached. You'll have to ask CharlieH or the OP for a definite confirmation.
  21. Two weeks should be fine, I received a non-O e-visa in the UK in 3 or 4 days. But really as soon as your intended travel plans are known you can apply, the visa will be valid for use for 3 months after the date of issue.
  22. Outside? So where do you live? I know where this email is going if i get it.
  23. Not 90, you will get a 60 day visa exempt entry each time. It is not a visa on arrival.
