  1. Yes, although the application is entered through the e-visa site the visa is approved by the local embassy/consulate.
  2. It is likely they will ask for evidence of your travel plans from Hong Kong to Bangkok which might be problematic, although not insurmountable.
  3. I presume you did already contact your Embassy? They can issue an emergency passport quickly if needed. "If you have an urgent need for a replacement passport and can show proof of imminent travel, we may be able to issue you a limited-validity emergency passport within 72-hours at the discretion of consular staff. Also, if no appointment is available, you may be able to appear during appointment hours without an appointment at the discretion of consular staff. It is recommended you appear at 7:30am Monday –Friday (except U.S./Thai holidays or the last Wednesday of the every month). Please note: An emergency passport has only 5 pages, maximum 1-year validity, and is issued under special circumstances. The validity cannot be extended and pages cannot be added."
  4. You will get the extension the same day. It will be dated 12 months from your 90 day entry stamp (exit date). Yes. It will have the same end date as the extension. You will get a slip in your passport advising you to do a 90 day report 90 days from the date you go for the extension. It is possible but not relevant if you do what you say you will. Just make sure you get the extension first. And be sure to make an appojntment here https://gov.immigration1.queueonline.net/appointment/login.html?v31 easy to do online and can save a lot of time standing in line.
  5. It's easy when none of the characters in a story are real.
  6. This thread is amazing, just indicates the level of boredom experienced by posters (OK, myself included). OP asked a daft question because he took somebody elses recepit. If ever there was a non-question this has to be it.
  7. Should be more than enough time. The re-entry permit area in inside the immigration area on departures (far left). It has recently been revamped with a small waiting area in case there are a few people at the same time. I was with 3 people last week, 2 of whom needed a REP, took maybe 15 minutes and they were both done. No preparation is required, they will do the photo and form for you.
  8. OfficeMate has them.....Google maps WV7V+VP Pattaya City, Bang Lamung District, Chon Buri
  9. The visa may be impressive, I'm less certain that the applicants will be.
  10. No. The form says "You must ensure that you have checked with your card provider that your card is valid, for this international transaction". Payment is taken in the UK, if they wanted only UK cards then the transaction wouldn't be international.
  11. With luck this will all go the same way as the failed 300 baht tourist entry fee. They could neither consistently say what it was for, who would pay it nor how they would collect it. You certainly couldn't run a company like this lot run a country.
  12. A lot of effort has gone into that, precisly for what purpose hard to imagine, why can't people just wait in case there ever is an real visa on offer. I suppose there must be some money in all this nonsense, none of it will come from my pocket.
  13. 1. Printed is fine. 2. Recently I didn't, not asked for.
  14. Yes. The required duration of your trip seems only to be determined by your desire/need for a Residence Certificate? You have a year after your driving license expires to renew it. I am in the same siuation as my DL also expired and cannot get a RC as since 2006 I've never managed to stay in country 90 days.
  15. When you get the annual extension is will be dated 1 year from your current entry permit - so no days are lost due to applying early. And yes, you can get a re-entry permit the same day, it will have the same expiry date as the extension, no benefit to go back later.
  16. No. At CW you can apply 45 days early. When you get the extension they will put you 90 day report slip in your passport. That will tell you to report 90 days from the day you apply for the extension. At CW you will need to have done a 90 day report before they will issue a residence certificate, but you may not need one to open a new account (I didn't recently). Make sure the 800k remains constant for 3 months after the extension application. If moving it to a new account better to do it after 3 months and in 2 400k lumps to avoid any issues. Monthly activity not needed. Apart from ongoing banking issues you can enter with 90 days and get everything done after 45 days. As long as your 800k is already there for 2 months when you apply. You can of course deposit the money before entering the coiuntry.
  17. I suspect Sky just woke up and cut and paste some stuff from other outlets who also don't actually know anything. By far the best bet is to wait and see if and when this visa and the other changes ever get implemented, I reckon there are clever people trying to figure out what they are offering as we speak, as they also are unsure.
  18. Good plan but the problem will likely come with the extension as there will be the "under consideration" period during which he will have gone back to work.
  19. Clearly a non-O multi from Savannakhet would be your best option. I'd be inclined to keep trying to get an appointment there, it's a new system, maybe/probably still not reliable - I presume you already called and emailed them directly, not only via an "agent"? Until then visa exempt ought to work until it doesn't, carry proof of your married status, financials, etc., and I can't imagine any issue.
