  1. Book on Agoda or similar, will have everything you need. And get your wife to write a letter, in Thai, and tell them to get their fingers out and send the visa. If she doesn't have a Thai number explain that and give her UK number.
  2. License?, or are you still asking about an IDP? Assuming an IDP, a 1968 convention IDP is valid 3 years from issue or whenever your license expires, so in your case will be September 2025.
  3. Get yourself to Villa - they have Beer Lao original, dark, gold and IPA on their website, presumably they will have at least some of them in stock.
  4. I did the very same last year, Kasikorn, only interested in updating the passport number.
  5. Just delete the chat? Not sure what that does on the other end but does that matter? And you are not deleting or blocking the contact so they can contact you again, or vice versa.
  6. No. Prepaid is fine. Your phone number is registered with your passport and the bank can match that if they so desire. If your bank is going to send OTP's then just turn on the Thai SIM in your phone. My bank doesn't, and authorisation requests come through the app itself, no phone connection needed. So the steps are simple, get a phone, get the app, try to set it up yourself (you will need to be in Thailand when you do it) and if you can't pop into the bank and they will do it for you.
  7. I just had a look at the Bangkok application centre information, seems you should be OK with a hotel booking alone, lots of info on the website....https://bio.visaforchina.cn/BKK3_EN/qianzhengyewu/jichuzhishi/banliliucheng
  8. To be fair, right now it seems to be raining a bit here and there......
  9. I used to get visas in Bangkok regularly, always issued the same day. It seemed to me the most important document was the invitation letter from some Chinese entity. I'd reckon if you have that you're good to go.
  10. As is the case with many UK current accounts. But with 1 minutes effort you could transfer it (or have it paid) into a different UK account (even Wise) and earn ≈4%. Mind you 4% of a next to nothing UK pension might not be worth the effort.
  11. ...and of course don't overlook the fact that you didn't even need a visa at all to enter Thailand, whereas you would for Cambodia and Lao PDR.
  12. You apply here https://www.thaievisa.go.th/ All the details are there. Easy to get a single entry tourist visa, 60 days, then the 30 day extension as you mention. You could also get a single non-O based on marriage, that would give you a 90 day entry. But you would need more documents and likely need THB400k in the bank for that one.
  13. It's fine for a few days. Plenty to see and do to keep amused but nothing is cheap. It's not 3 hours to Abu Dhabi, more like 1.5-2. If I had enough money to retire there I wouldn't, I'd be somewhere more naturally attractive. Good food can be had everywhere and Lebanese and Indian at good prices. Girls are expensive and the Russians are not much fun, best if you can find a Filipina working there doing a bit of sideline at night.
  14. You friend can send it directly to your bank account if you want, or you can collect cash at any WU outlet. Bank account Receive money transfers via your bank account Provide your sender with these details: Your bank account details 2 – Your name as per bank records – Bank name – Account Number – Bank code The purpose of remittance. Your address and mobile number Cash pickup More than 6,100 agent locations 1 in Thailand Visit a Western Union location. Provide your sender’s details, including the Money Transfer Contol Number (MTCN). Show a valid government-issued photo ID. Get your money once your details have been verified.
  15. Won;t be any issue. I did a TM30 for my GF last time she applied for an extension, did it the day before we went to CW. Nothing said.
  16. There is definitely a border between HCMC and Bangkok - you'll get your exemption when you get back. I think it was just a suggestion of a good place to hang out for a while doing a border hop. And it most certainly is, although I actually do like Da Nang so ymmv.
  17. Where are you applying? I did one in the UK last year. Also just gave the first 5 days hotel booking. 3 days.
  18. Yes, although the application is entered through the e-visa site the visa is approved by the local embassy/consulate.
