  1. When it says you are not eligible it really doesn't mean you, nobody is eligible to apply for an e-visa in Vietnam. But as said, unless you already have a lot of exempt entries then just turn up and you'll get 60 days. Bear in mind that if you fly in then you may be asked to show an onward ticket at check in.
  2. All you need to know is here; https://www.passport.service.gov.uk/overseas/information/thailand/renew/adult (and btw, if you could apply online which you can't, you don't need a coded photo, you can take your own photo with your phone)
  3. Hopefully they will be better than the measures used by his tailor.
  4. I have renewed twice and both times used bank statements. I can download my statement in Thai or English easily (Kasikorn), I imagine all banks offer this.
  5. The letter used to be given automatically with a new passport, but I think that has now ceased; You might also want to change the passport number associated with your phone. Personally I never bother with changing anything until actually necessary, i.e. when needing to do something at the bank.
  6. Just came from DMK. I am on á re-entry but gf is on exempt. 30 days.
  7. You don't pay at VFS, you complete the payment form with your card details and payment is taken in the UK. You need a complete copy of your passport, every page whether blank or not. You do not need copies of any Thai immigration documents unless you are using something for proof of residence. I did 3 appointment choices, this was for Bangkok.
  8. Smaller, balder, fatter, older.....we know what Thai ladies prefer.
  9. Made these the other day, random spuds from CP Fresh, blanched then twice fried in canola. Came out pretty well.
  10. So plenty of time to wait and see if that happens, and if not get the visa - takes 3 or 4 days max.
  11. Apply for it, the 60 day exempt has not been confirmed nor any credible date announced.
  12. I can only agree with you. My limited encounters with the embassy in Bangkok have been for minor administrative things and have passed without much issue, however I was seriously let down in the only other embassy encounter I have had, that being a garden reception at the embassy in Tehran. It was summer, they had fine food a plenty, every (alcoholic) drink you could wish for but............no ICE! Warm G&T never really cuts it.
  13. Yes, if you booked their "saver" fare then all seats are chargeable. However, you can still chose your own seat for free at online check in.
  14. If you really need it then why not just book and pay for it? Failing that you can select a seat for free when you check in online, 48 hours in advance. You can check back from time to time to see if there are still plenty of aisle seats left, if they are going fast then you'll have to pay for one.
  15. I fear your plea will fail. He/it is clearly s-ponsored to do it, along with all the others.
  16. What about office workers? Do all these workers rush out at 11 now and get half pished?
  17. You need to apply for and receive your ED first. She will need details of your visa in order for her to get her non-O (visiting non-thai family I presume). There is no reason why her dates need to match yours, she can just put a 90 day or less date as her 'intended' return date.
  18. Yes, that will be fine, in fact it only needs to be there 2 months before extension, 3 after, then 400 till the next year cycle repeats. It's an extension based on "retirement" not "pension". And your wife will need to go along when you make the change.
