  1. Precisely, the only place where this is mentioned ad nauseam is on this forum.
  2. "bus from Ekkamai"
  3. You mean you get a tourist visa wherever you go for your holiday? If re-entering exempt why does it matter?
  4. I've seen many clips of what is clearly a spectacular event. It's impressive such a town can manage to arrange what they do. Anyone living there surely stays at home for a couple of days (as I used to), visitors will surely know about the massive traffic jams and toilet queues. I wouldn't go near it as I've already seen fireworks, but I do like the effort they put into these things. Well done Pattaya, I hope you've all f'd off by next weekend as I'll be there.
  5. I would do so (easy to obtain at CW for most banks) but for sure you'll need another one and a statement when you go for the extension.
  6. You can go directly from your current entry to the 90 day non-O, no need for the extension. You need the 800k in your bank the day you go for the non-O. At CW it does not need to be there for any seasoning period. You will get the visa and the 90 day stamp on the same day, (edit - actually that may not be correct!) they won't retain your passport. After 60 days/2 months (minimum) you can go for the annual extension.
  7. With a multi entry visa or a new 60 day exempt?
  8. That is for making an appointment to then make an in person application which is the current system there. However, from 1 January 2025 they will join the e-visa program with no appointments possible after 20 December.
  9. Do nothing. A non-O always gets a 90 day entry.
  10. Not done it but the embassy website outlines the process. Seem straightforward enough provided someone can be identified as their next of kin. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/what-to-do-after-a-british-person-dies-in-thailand
  11. The chances of me eating in a "Thai Pizza Chain" in a mall are lower than me going to the moon on a bicycle so I'm happy my chances of a long life are improved, I am self protecting.
  12. A "hold mail or in care of address " is not a real address. It is a mailing address. It is not where you live. If you have a real address and that is the one attached you your account then answer NO.
  13. Everywhere else that has adopted the e-visa has the same or similar requirements as for an in person application. So your friend is likely to need a bank account, preferably with some money in it. He won't find out until he applies bearing in mind that each country can impose their own requirements over and above those stated on the e-visa website.
  14. That's not what they are asking. Ought to be as plain as day by now. If you have a real address, maybe even where you live, attached to your account the answer is most definitely NO.
  15. That option also works without the wife, just sayin'🤗
  16. Yes, you've basically got 3 weeks to try and make a in person application - you'll need an apponitment.
  17. The immigration system works rather well already. It handles all entries and exits, knows the history of each person, ties old passports to new, etc. I have never been delayed in either direction by a "system failure". If there is a problem it is likely with them working out how to collect their THB 300 from "tourists" - I suspect this is the cause of the current delays.
  18. Then you need to crack on and get it soon as Laos will soon join the e-visa program. One of the stated requirements for a single non-O e-visa is; "Financial evidence showing monthly income of no less than 40,000 THB or having the current balance of 400,000 THB, e.g. bank statements, proof of earnings"
  19. Actually you are staying on an extension of stay (based on retirement) and have a re-entry permit.
  20. Yes it is. Of course the 60 day extension is not really necessary, especially as you'll need the 400k in the bank for the initial non-O. Here is a thread about the Kalasin office, might be some interesting tips in it;
  21. Its possible. What are you unsure about?
  22. I'm guessing the OP didn't point out what he had, whereas the other poster did. Perhaps the issues will come on the OP's return, hopefully we'll get an update.
