  1. They didn't mean renew your non-OA, they meant get an extension. You could only renew it in Canada. Your best option is to leave Thailand and kill off the OA. You can re-enter exempt or better apply for a single non-O e-visa in a nearby country, then re-enter, 90 day entry. Then you only have to get a 12 month extension of that. You will need 800k in your Thai bank account, but you will no longer need the insurance, not at least for immigration purposes.
  2. For a direct flight I'd pick Thai in business. I like it, both for the seat and especially the excellent service. I'd be wary of Finnair in case you ended up in one of their horrendous leased planes from Virgin with the "coffin class" business seats.
  3. I saw you edited your original post. If she's coming in August then the e-visa she seems to have applied for will have expired, they are issued for entry 3 months from date of issue. So she will need to apply for another one nearer the time, by which time the online arrival card system may or may not have been started.
  4. Amazing! Perhaps you could ask her, and let us know, where exactly she went to fill in the information?

    Swampy Bus

Actually you can book the Bell service at the desk in the airport (BKK) on the day of travel. I always book ahead as I want to be sure of getting the bus I want, but there are always a lot of people booking at the desk for the next available bus either to Pattaya or Hua Hin.
  6. Best option for the OP is to pop back to the location and take a picture. All will become clear.
  7. No, It will be 1 year from the expiry of the 90 day entry you get on arrival.
  8. You will get a 1 year extension of stay. If you want to leave and return within that year you will need a re entry permit. That's all there is to it.
  9. Yes you will. Unless they have already closed your account they will have moved it to a nearby branch. When you go to that branch to resurrect the account you should not need any more than your current passport and if you have it the one used to open the account. Presumably you do have some record of the account number at least? I did a very similar exercise a couple of years ago, no girlfriend required. I would call their customer service people first, they were amazingly helpful in my case.
  10. Was 236, now 237, I signed it.
  11. Just to add that on the day you apply for the extension you will need to have had ฿800k in your account for 2 months.
  12. It hasn't and won't anytime soon. The new online TM6 might start in May.
  13. That was fun. I just tried. Did all the KYC stuff, passed with flying colours. But, the last step, scan your existing MRT card. My card has no QR to scan nor a 12 digit number to enter manually. Fail. Maybe I'll have a word when I'm next on the MRT. Meanwhile try not to lose my card!
  14. Not really, but they are lucky we are so much more cleverer than them.
  15. Yes, and my post was with reference to the F&B industry rather than shopping. Only once has this rule caused me any inconvenience, having to leave one restaurant and go to another. In 28 years I don't think I'm gonna complain.
  16. Well well, well. Daily Mail. India. Thailand. Insurance failure. Fundraiser.
  17. Well I hope he's better now cause his GFM seems to have stalled at £2,735. Didn't even make enough for 1 day in the hospital.
  18. The only places following the 2-5 rule are restaurants in malls. Nowhere else applies the rule. I can't imagine lifting it in itself would have a measurable impact at all.
  19. Safe entry service, see this thread..... Male/Female IO's = myth. Cash can be in another currency.
  20. They can ask to see cash (10 or 20k depending on who you believe), accommodation booking and onward travel. or they may ask nothing at all. Airline might also ask for onward booking. Depends on your history, IO's mood, lottery numbers......
  21. None really. The financial requirement is "worse" but if that's an issue for you is a personal judgement. Normally people shift from marriage because of the photo's/house visits/witnesses/wife needed to accompany, etc. But as every office is different it all depends on how much of a pain it is for you personally in your location. Oh, and if she leaves you you don't have any worries.
  22. Call them, they are very helpful (I had similar website issues).
  23. Maybe he didn't know he was a wanted man. Maybe he just thought he had had a pleasant date with a young, not underage, girl. Maybe he came back for more. Maybe this story will be updated, but I very much doubt it.
