  1. There is nothing special about departing from BKK through the e-gates. I have done it multiple times and never had any issue on return. It doesn't "read" anything other than your main passport page, but the system knows your status. I am certain if you would be on overstay then the gate would stay shut.
  2. They won't necessarily provide you with one unless you ask for it but n any case they are legally obliged to do it. If you are going to need it for immigration purposes just ask for it.
  3. Singapore had it right years ago, although likely now gone. The open air areas on the roof. Gardens, swimming pool, bars. Good enough to miss a flight for.
  4. There's something been done to the front wheels, perhaps for that very purpose.
  5. I hope it was free advice! Although not even worth that.
  6. Me neither. It was Jomtien, maybe they just couldn't be bothered.
  7. I had the same situation several years ago. I went to immigration and was told they could/would do nothing, just go to the airport. At the airport they made some notes in the new passport and stamped me out without any problems.
  8. Weird story, hard to read. Did anything actually change....no.
  9. You should also consider that a border bounce to Laos might/will require you to stay 2 nights out of Thailand. All the more reason to make a proper job of it and get your non-O there.
  10. Nong Khai to Vientiane is close by. And don't be tempted to swim the Mekong, that's reserved for locals only. Easy to get a new non-O there. And a nice place for a short break.
  11. Did you ever get a 60 day visit wife extension? Might be possible to buy the time you need. Agents don't like marriage extensions. Otherwise the best idea is to leave the country when your current entry expires, apply for a new non-O, enter on that then start a new extension at the end of the 90 day entry. Vientiane would be a good place to go.
  12. They should be in your "All Mail" folder - did you look there?
  13. You most certainly can, I have, and so have many others.
  14. There is no need to fill in the departure section, it's optional.
  15. Adapt or die. It's so easy. Carry a large size helmet and a bag of hotel style shower caps for the sensitive. The law didn't change only the current enforcement, so likely all back to normal again soon.
  16. No problem, as long as it's immediately accessible. I do the same for my retirement extension.
  17. You can gift her but you must not benefit from it, at all, in any way. So you living off it will not work. Having said that there is the question of the origin of the money (i.e., is it even accessible?) , your tax allowances, etc., better answered in the tax threads.
  18. You cannot receive any benefit from the gift to your wife, if you do it could be considered assesible income. So no, it's not a good idea. But on the other hand the chances anyone will ever care are close to zero, better just keep it in your own account and be done with it.
  19. True. But where you open the account doesn't dictate where you go for the extension paperwork, any branch can do that.
  20. The 'abroad' requirement is only for the initial non O visa. It is not required for subsequent extensions, as in your case.
  21. Easy in the UK last year, took 4 days and saves a trip to immigration. Well worth trying.
  22. There's a thread here that may be useful......https://aseannow.com/topic/1360906-us-passport-renewal-update-information/
  23. One of the main reasons I enjoy living in Bangkok is that I don't need a car. Can always rent one for trips as needed.
  24. My apartment also completes multiple entries on the government website and the departure date is not stated as "optional", however on the printout they give me it is.
