  1. I recently got a single non-O retirement from the UK. 800,000 in a Thai bank was fine for them.
  2. You're welcome. If you plan travel between now and October you could always put off the extension till later - if you travelled in October for instance you'd get 90 days more on returning (before the 18th) and wouldn't have to do the extension until the end of the year.
  3. Once you are on the annual extension you will need a re-entry permit. The visa is done with.
  4. You'll be fine. Like all airlines its 32kg max per piece.
  5. nah, they are just what is needed at the Lee Kee Shipyard.
  6. This "strategy" also includes the initial airport entry + extension, so there are the 2 missing months.
  7. They may well do if you don't have an onward ticket within 30 days of arrival.
  8. Depends on the airline and how much you pay. Some, like Emirates, charge different amounts for different "premium" seats. You'll almost certainly pay more for the best seat in economy, although sometimes exit rows, for example, are not pre-bookable until check-in.
  9. The website instructions tell you to print it. And you keep it. "After the e-Visa application has been approved, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to applicants, which must be printed out for presenting to airlines and Thai Immigration Officials when traveling to Thailand."
  10. He can't, he's on a retirement "visa" (presumably an extension thereof).
  11. I guess the obvious answer is to do a border bounce or have a short trip somewhere nice. That'd give you the time you want which could also be easily extended further if needed.
  12. Good idea, who's?
  13. Yes, the quote in the post above is taken from the VFS announcement.
  14. I've known several people whose move to Thailand happened after their home country wives had died. I'm pretty sure none of them would have appreciated your unnecessary intrusion into their lives.
  15. Nope, it's both. GOV.UK could do with updating their site.

    Yep cants

Probably thought that carpet was there to protect the floor.
  17. There seems little consistency in the packages they offer, but all appear to be 4G/5G and whether described as "data" or "internet" seems to make no difference, at least none that I can detect. I'm currently on the 99GB/30 days package., THB299+VAT. It was bought as "Internet" but shows on the app as "Data". Currently showing 19.7 Mbps download speed (4G) which is totally fine for may needs.
  18. The admitted until date doesn't change, stay out as long as you like but remember to come back in time to make the next extension or you'll have to start all over again.
  19. Let's say you check into a hotel for a night/week or whatever. Did any hotel ever give you a TM30 receipt? Whilst they might give you something if you ask for it, it is by no means automatic, which you would imagine it would be if you were legally obliged to have it.
  20. In my recent experience, December 2023, Bangkok, No.
  21. That's the whole point of a Wise account, including it's debit card.
  22. USA it most certainly does. And can send to Thailand no problems at all. https://wise.com/us/send-money/
  23. For what purpose? Just put money in it (Wise from US would seem a good idea). What does it matter that you cant pay credit cards from it, I thought your problem was getting money here not sending it to the US.
