Requesting copy of Thai birth certificate
ubonjoe replied to rad95's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I would think that the Thai embassy could do a certified copy of your birth certificate that would be accepted. A Amphoe here cannot issue a new birth certificate. They will only certify a copy and attach a print out of the birth registry to it. -
Visa Requirements and Process for 3-6 month stay
ubonjoe replied to pasak's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You will need the ticket to here when you apply for the visa. No need for a return or onward ticket. The ticket only needs to valid for the day you apply or enter the country. No need for any insurance to apply for the visa based upon marriage. At this time you would need the $100,000 covid 19 insurance to get a certificate of entry. Not sure what will be needed in February. -
Visa Requirements and Process for 3-6 month stay
ubonjoe replied to pasak's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yes You could also apply for the one year extension after applying for the 60 day extension it you decided you wanted to stay longer. You can apply for the one year extension during the last 30 days of the 90 or 60 days. You only need to show the equivalent of 20k baht in any bank (UK bank will be accepted). You would apply online for the visa and a email will be sent to you with your stickerless visa included on it. No need for a trip to the embassy. Site is here. https://thaievisa.go.th/ -
Visa Requirements and Process for 3-6 month stay
ubonjoe replied to pasak's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You could apply for a single entry non-o visa based upon marriage to a Thai that allows one 90 day entry. And then a 60 day extension to visit your wife. You could also apply for a one year extension of stay based upon marriage if you have 400k baht in Thai bank in your name only or a extension based upon retirement with 800k baht in the bank. The funds would need to be in the bank for 2 months on the day you apply. At this time all border crossings are closed. -
Non O-A visa (Q's) from E-visa website.
ubonjoe replied to tomx2's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I think they will if you enter it manually. I have never done it so I cannot say with any certainty. When looking at the instruction manual (https://thaievisa.go.th/static/English-Manual.pdf) on page 27 I do not see anything about it reading your bio data. it may be something that was added to the system recently. -
Chaeng Watthana Retirement Extension trip
ubonjoe replied to ThailandRyan's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I don't think you need a new TM30 report if you have done one before. You just need the receipt for one and a copy of it. -
Retirement Extension - B Visa
ubonjoe replied to yumyai's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The category of the non immigrant visa you used to apply for the extension of stay does not affect the required documents you need unless it was a Non-OA visa. You will not need proof of any proof insurance to apply for your extension of stay. There have been not changes done for the requirements to apply since your last extension. -
You will not need any of that to do a 90 day report in person or online. Your report is due 90 days from the day you entered the country

A re-entry permit is not issued for a visa. It is issued for a permit to stay a visa allowed or the extension of it. -

Visa / COE, what's needed to re-enter ?
ubonjoe replied to cocolasticot's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You can start the COE application online before leaving the country. The embassy in Bern does not use the online visa application system so you would have to make a appointment to do the application in person. See: https://www.thaiembassy.ch/Content/Embassy/55.html Appoing page is here. https://www.thaiembassy.ch/Appointment -
Visa / COE, what's needed to re-enter ?

There no requirement for a permit to leave. You only need a re-entry permit to keep the remainder of the permit to stay it is issued for valid when your use it to enter the country -
Entry after 1 Nov from an unlisted country
ubonjoe replied to Badger18's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Why would he need to visit a embassy? He just needs a COE that is done online. Even visas are being done online at many embassies and a trip to the embassy is not needed. There are many embassies and official consulates that are not doing anything in person now due to covid 19 restrictions. If possible it is done by mail now. -
Non O-A visa (Q's) from E-visa website.
ubonjoe replied to tomx2's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You upload your passport photo page to prove you are a US citizen in the space for proof you are a resident. If you were a permanent resident you would upload your residency card (aka green card). Did you scan the code at the bottom of your passport photo page? If it does not work you can upload the page. If you have the software you could scan the jpeg photos into a PDF file or paste them into blank document (.doc) and upload it. I have use the good old Microsoft paint to paste photos into a new file and save it as a jpeg file. -
The info on the embassy website is out of date. When you go on the e visa site (https://thaievisa.go.th/) you get this message that states you do not have to send anything to the embassy.

You should not have a problem re-entering the country if you get a re-entry permit to keep your extension of stay (it is not a visa) based upon working as volunteer when valid you enter the country. I think some people posting here are confusing a extension for attending a school with yours. I have never seen a report of a person working as volunteer having a problem when entering the country but some attending a school have had problems.

Entry after 1 Nov from an unlisted country
ubonjoe replied to Badger18's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The only difference is not having to do a 7 day quarantine if fully vaccinated it from a listed country. If not a listed country you have to do the quarantine. -
How long does it take to get work permit
ubonjoe replied to tezzaaa's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The company's office will have to be registered here and have a registered capital of at least 1 million baht of registered capital for you to apply for a work permit. When the application is done for a work permit a copy of your marriage certificate will be needed.
