  1. Might give that a go , especially in places hard to access ( behind wardrobe etc ).
  2. Sounds like a useful tool. Generally , a big round up requires two of us . One flushes them out the other traps them under a broom then sweeps into container. If I see one on a wall, I try to carefully open the nearest window and then try to get them to move towards the window and out. Usually they never go in the direction I want. If they are on the ceiling I brush them off onto the floor then deliver a coup de grace before they can run. I can be a crule heartless killer sometimes.
  3. Like old ladies in Sainsburys. Get the purse out from bottom of shopping bag when cashier tells them the amount.
  4. Cashless society .................. for everyones convenience ( not the banks profits ) What could possibly go wrong ? After all, with computers ....no human error. Safe ( except for hacking ) , reliable ( except when it crashes ) and fast ( except for people stuck in a Q at Big C behind a person with a smartphone trying to pay and making a meal of it ).
  5. No. That costs extra. Most customers don't want to pay extra for tracking for low cost purchases.
  6. Yup, just Thailand post. Items I ship are valued at 6 dollers so no point going mad with expensive shipping.
  7. The items I send are lightweight and fit in an envelope so to America 52 baht , most of Europe 48 baht. Occasionally something will get lucky , make an early flight and get delivered in a week , but this doesn't happen often. EMS is fast but very expensive. Not worth it for me or my customers.
  8. Depends which countries. I ship small items to Europe regularly. North European is usually 2 weeks or less for delivery. Around the Mediterranean , Spain ,Italy ....usually three weeks or if unlucky a bit longer. Faster shipping costs more , according to weight.
  9. When in Bangkok I am happy to use the buses outside commuter times when the get to crowded.. A long long time ago a friend of mine and myself were on a non air bus heading for Silom. We were the only passengers mid day. By the time we got off we had a date with the female driver and the equally pretty conductress. Happy days.
  10. With difficulty. That's why it takes two of us. A beater and a hunter armed with a wide plastic scoop.
  11. When we lived in Bangkok, neither did I. The roaches from the drains were legion and one or two geckos were harmless. Now we live in the boonies almost no cockroaches ( no drains ) but the geckos are legion. At any given time there might be ten or more in the house and they crap everywhere. And like us , they also get diarrhea so we are not talking a few little turds around the house but long brown streaks on the windows and walls. Every now and then we have a round up and shift all the furniture to catch as many as possible . They are then evicted to the end of the garden.
  12. Best not to take any Valium into the UK. It is a prescription drug and if found in your luggage you could get hassled. Unfortunately, your future is in your own hands and you have to just keep putting one foot in front of the other until you arrive at some kind of solution. Things have a way of working themselves out given some time.
  13. What decided you to pay salaries in cash ? A good idea in my opinion.
  14. A whole lot easier said than done. Being an alcoholic is not the same thing at all as being a heavy drinker, it is a physical addiction very difficult break.
  15. Yes, this happens to me a lot. Maybe it's different in big cities but in our rural Big C I frequently get held up by someone paying with their smartphone. So I asked the cashiers. In your experience which method of payment is fastest and more convenient for you , cash , debit card or QR code. They all say cash is fastest.
  16. Not supposed to be. They designed it to resemble a democracy by having farcical elections with an extremely thin veneer on top. Don't have to dig deep to see how rotten and corrupt the current constitution is.
  17. 188 + 250 = turmoil and street protests
  18. I got stung by just one of those wasps. Hurt like hell. Hate to think how bad many bites would feel.
  19. Agreed. I'll be 66 soon so not the worst of innings. The main thing is pain relief when the time comes. I have a gut feeling that I will drop down dead immediately after I go to an ATM machine to withdraw my first State Pension payment.
  20. Well, we all make little slips from time to time.
  21. Wow. What a total surprise . The defamation laws are a one way street designed to protect the guilty and convict the innocent. The country needs Move Forward. What the deluded loyalists don't comprehend is that these days Thai politics are like a pressure cooker. They think they can just do what they have always done and they will get away with it as usual. What they cannot understand is that even in the provinces , there is now the rumble of discontent with the status quo. Whereas before the natural protest vote would have been Pheu Thai , political awareness has grown through social media to the extent that many people want a real change to society not just monetary benefits. Ok...so maybe once again the old school might succeed in sitting on the lid of the pressure cooker and delaying the inevitable , but if Pita and Move Forward are once again nobbled then the old school can never again risk an election. If they do , whatever the remnant of Move Forward may look like it will get a landside that will put Pheu Thai in the shade.
  22. Like art on a tart you mean
  23. Less painfull than on the wedding tackle ?
  24. Next riveting thread: ' Get your kit off ' in 50 languages. ( Note : Inuktituk is not on the list since compliance at the wrong season could prove fatal )
  25. Lets look at this logically. If 2 murders were commited by people who had smoked cannabis ..... The conclusion must be that all other acts of violence on that day , murders , rapes , fights etc , were commited by people who had not smoked cannabis. Ergo , the non smokers are a bigger threat to society than the smokers ? Have I got that right ? Sounds right.????
