A typical coronavirus survives about 30 times longer in 6 C than in 20 C. In 30 C is mere 1-2 hours at best. That would explain why Wuhan and northern Italy got so bad, 0-10 C typical temperature Jan-Mar. The virus survived on doorknobs, guard rails, public toilets and what not for days, instead of few hours.

experts in the UK quoted this virus can remain active over 90 hours on surfaces

Chinese tourists in Italy per year: around 2 million.

    In Thailand:  Over 10 million.

Thailand should be by now much worse than Italy. It is the hot&humid.

even if temp is somehow involved what about all the shopping centers - hotels - hospitals - airports - buses - mass transport etc that are all air conditioned and the most likely places for transmission ?

This is good for me to know as I am heading to the U.S. tomorrow via Japan and returning via the same transit in about ten days. Will prepare to "self isolate" at home for two weeks upon my return. Let's just keep it at that, though. So, no new restrictions, please. I just need the U.S. to not ban people coming in from Thailand or Japan in the next 48 hours.

confusing as it is I believe the new additional group of countries including UK and US have a different set of rules from the other group e.g. China

Does these mean for those that transit through S. Korea, this is a must if coming from say the United States.  I am confused. In order to get the certificate of medical clearance it saysValid document for COVID-19 lab test.  Now how in the hell is one supposed to get that if you can not get tested.  Guess they just signed there end as an Airline (Korean Air).......

I believe it is Thailand enforcing this not Korea

But yesterday, in the news, some Thai public health official was talking about threatening the guy with a prosecution under the Computer Crimes Act for posting content online that could create public panic, harm to the country,

people on here keep making the point - why do we not hear (through social media) about all the sick Thais that most of us believe there are

the above pretty much answers that question

    Everyone should listen to Gweiloman.

he win POTY YInn “Smart Foreigner of Today” award.

    Congratulations Gweiloman!!

nobody is upset - most people on here have a thought for Thailand and want it to do well

If you think Thailand can survive without western tourists then you are delusional

I think it is about to be tested - I personally know 10 people who had booked to come here on holiday and have decided not too, various reasons but ultimately they don't like the tone

Western people (just like Thai) can very easily be disrespected - that's 2/3 of Thai tourism and tourism GDP going somewhere else - we will take our smell and our money elsewhere

“We would like to ask people who travel overseas to at-risk locales to follow the government’s requirement of spending 14 days in quarantine so we can all overcome this situation together,” they said.

another lame attempt at blaming foreigners again - do Thais take responsibility for anything ?

PS my face mask was ruined in the shower
