Come on. You know, surely, that the locals would panic and blame almost any death on the virus as it's now the current 'thing'. Anyway, do you think that if the death rate was soaring from anything at all there wouldn't be an outcry on social media? Especially as Thailand is the second biggest user of FB on the entire planet.
Do you know anyone who has caught the virus?
again Barry you are missing the critical point - if they don't test then they just don't know, I have seen several people claiming in the media that relatives died of CV-19 they were immediately confronted by officials and threatened - they retracted and apologised immediately - very few claim anything in public now
you really have lost it mate if you don't get the draconian environment you are living - there is no freedom here - its getting closer to China by the day - open your eyes and keep the feet for dancing
In the free west the press and people ask questions and governments are held to account - when was the last time you witnessed that in Thailand
seriously dude open your eyes

I understand your point but if you let 10 use the beach 100 will follow, a ban is a ban and must apply to everyone

Really? You really think that medical personnel who are at risk and the tens of thousands (hundreds of thousands when you include family and friends) of those affected are all staying silent? None revealing the real situation (in your mind) on social media? Really? What century are you living in? This is 2020. No more secrets. Catch up, please.
Explain how a family confirms that someone died of CV-19
Are you catching it yet Barry - I always thought you were were a rational thinker until now
I am now reconsidering

Thailand is famous for medical care. Thousands people come every month for treatment from many countries, Europe, Australia, Middle East etc etc
Dentist foreigner come same.
Thailand also help millions people from Cambodia, Burma and Laos. They can not do their country, so, come thailand for it. Doctor expert and good equipment.
Maybe should worry about other countrys health officials more. Seem to be big problem. Hospital to full, no mask, equipment for the doctor and nurse.
ZERO foreigner die in Thailand because covid.

Just to make sure I didn't miss reading up on anything ... is there a clear answer to this?
Do dead corpses
if the virus can survive for days on a door handle then the answer is likely - yes
but google it and see

Dr Anupong Sujariyakun said the claims were not true but he accepted that proper procedures must be in place when handling those who have died from Covid-19 to avoid the risk of infection.
and just how does that work exactly when no testing is being carried out to confirm cause of death
Back to you
Tripping themselves up now by their own hands

I honestly think people here are afraid to go near the authorities because they and anyone they have been in contact with will likely be detained by armed police and army and forced into unsavoury isolation centers

7 mio Thais lost their job already due to Covid , 10 mio are predicted ...
If government wants to keep social unrest away , it needs to massively help the people in need now ... or put the tanks back to the streets ...
What is needed here is more liberal politics for thais and to stop it's xenophobia towards foreigners .
wow I think I will copy that post for future use my friend - you nailed it

I think anger across the world is brewing very quickly - they have cost us all dearly and should pay for that
we handed them our technology - schooled and trained them and now they are using it against us, IMO there should be a full blown effort across the free world to blank them, Putin and the wee fat man will of course rally to support them - dangerous times ahead I think, Thailand will go were they can benefit the most financially and are becoming more like them by the day

Anyone heard of the second wave theory? It is what is keeping a number of western countries closed down past the initial set of good numbers.
they locked the country down too late and are now easing stuff too early

(The central bank has forecast the economy to contract 5.3% this year) I think this figure is very conservative. The UK are estimating a 25%-30% drop in the UK which seems a more realistic figure for Thailand too
totally agree and when they actually mention 1997 in a financial assessment that rings alarm bells with me, it's like there are two articles contradicting in the OP - gross underestimation of contraction then later completely dire

They are no sooner into this lockdown and are now wanting to end it because someone got their calculator out
and since they are testing very few few people they have absolutely no idea of the virus status in the country - the data is complete garbage because they wouldn't pay for mass testing, personally I assume the infection and mortality rate is similar to other countries round the world which means Thailand has tens of thousands of infections and deaths directly due to CV-19 but there is no way to confirm it and the Government seems to want to keep it that way
