by far the biggest corrupt practice involving IO I have observed over years is when people use agents to circumvent the financial requirements for 12 month extensions, pretty much every person I know uses an agent and does not meet the financial requirements "in Thailand" for either bank balance or income, bribes are paid to circumvent the rules

what they don't seem to realise is that it is having an impact on tourism - nobody wants to come to Thailand if they being constantly harrassed by police at 2am and 12- 1am being around the time they are ready for a nightclub/disco - hardly much point going for 30mins is there, before covid there were many places open and busy for those that wanted it ........... what changed ??????? - stupid got firm grip on things and as usual fail to see the harm they are doing

what a joke, how about getting the police to do their job and actually catch drunk drivers "before" they crash, 12am onwards is a good start 4am closing will have no effect on people getting into/onto a vehicle and driving while intoxicated - zero effect

there is always someone trying to be a smart ### on these forums - hate to say this but very likely from the US, not all are like that but when you come across the "I am always right" argument - the are often from the USA and will not be told or accept any reality but their own - pretty sad really and for those from the USA - read very carefully what I said, a very small percentage of people seem to have this attitude and are more often from the USA

may I suggest you read the OP again, strictly by law you are correct but a copy or photo of relevent pages of your passport are generally accepted, it has been that way for a very long time

The problem with Thai politics is that parties win elections not individuals, so anyone who is in a party that gets the most votes can be a DPM even though that individual was not actually elected by the people, it is not proper democracy
