    Ummmm

I cannot find the sim card that I registered my Line account....ooops

I see on the app that it says change phone number under edit profile ,

I did not want to go any farther since I do not have a replacement sim card/ number.

The original number starts with +66 994------

It's been over a year since I used the number , can I just go to the phone store , get a new account and just change numbers without a problem ?

I understand they need to send a SMS to verify , but as it stands now that phone number is dead ????

    Thanks for your help

Do you have Facebook account? If yes, you can link your Line account to Facebook and skip the requirement to receive SMS for account transfer.

  3. Thai Airways allow nominating someone else for award travel using your air miles.

When requesting an Award for someone else, his/her name must be included in your Award Nominee list before redeeming awards for them. People with lots of air miles on hand can nominate you for award travel in exchange for money.

And how do you do that?

Even with their "006" prefix they show rates of 5 Baht/min for fixed lined and 7 Baht/min for mobile.

Can't find rates for "00600" advertised to be cheaper.

Rates for Truemove Tourist SIM using "00600" prefix showed 1 baht/min to call UK fixed line.

In a hotel only the management jobs can be done by foreigners.

The rest is a restricted thai profession.

I am not sure if/how the foreigner have to proof that he's qualified as a manager.

I guess these foreigners you see there on big hotels are mostly managing the the reception stuff, kitchenmanagers etc and thus get a work permit.

I found that some of the house keeping staff in Thai hotels are Burmese/Cambodian/Laos not sure if they are being employed legally or not.

I’m wondering where the catch is, or if the connection speeds are any good (4G is advertised)....

I found that connection speed of Sim2Fly is slow in Japan. The speed was so bad that I took out my Sim2Fly and use my normal AIS sim instead in international roaming mode. Roaming using normal AIS sim showed faster speed compared to Sim2Fly. However, it is more expensive to use normal AIS sim for roaming. If you only need data for instant messaging like Line, WhatsApp in Japan, Sim2Fly is good enough.

Reportedly, it's because "criminals were using the cards for cash laundering" (Rabbit cards, as well).  Frankly, this makes no sense to me, because it's simply a stored-value card and to the best of my knowledge can only be used to pay for goods; it cannot be used to get cash or even cash change.

I am not sure about 7-11 cash card but for Rabbit card, it can be linked to LinePay. After the link success, balance from the Rabbit card can be withdrawn to connected bank account using Line app. So, Rabbit card can be used as e-money and has to meet "know your customer regulation".

Besides, on paper, he would fully qualify to extend based on 200K in the bank because of being here on retirement prior to 1998.

From a pragmatic point of view, how would he prove that?

His older passports would be gone for sure one would imagine?

And immigration cannot even keep records on a retiree for more than 12 months. I have to submit reams of the exactly the same documents year after year.

Thai immigration will transfer old stamps to new passport. I still have my entry stamp from 2002 that started the unbroken extension of stays in my new passport.

I have complained to both Visa and Mastercard regarding the fact that in over ten years using Thai bank issued debit cards, not once ever, ever, ever has any retailer checked my signature on the card against the voucher.

I told them that I have signed my name in the past as Enid Blyton and twice also as Rumpelstiltskin, to highlight the fact - because  I can.

Neither company will reply to my emails. They obviously think it's more beneficial to themselves to ignore it.

It's official now. Four of the largest credit card companies—Visa, MasterCard, AMEX and Discover—stopped requiring signatures on purchases.

I take it the flights are coming in full and going out empty or there could not be the influx of Chinese we are told, 325,000

Of those 950 ARRIVING flights, let's say 25% of them are regular, so roughly 712 extra PER DAY, which over 5 days for example, to get 'em all here before New Year, is 3562 flights.

325000 on 3562 flights = 91 pax per flight. It doesn't make sense to me.

Too bad those real time flight tracker sites can't show the breakdown of the nationalities of the passengers ????

And as I said earlier, 13300 flights with 325000 pax = 24 pax per flight.

If as you say 1900 flights arrived and departed in 24 hours at 2 airports. 1900/2 (in-out) /2 airports/24 hours = 20 flights per hour = One evry THREE MINUTES 24 hours per day at both airports. It ain't possible. And that's doing the MATHS in my head.

Actually, both BKK and DMK airports are already doing one departure and one arrival flights every 3 minutes. I have seen long queue of planes on DMK taxi way waiting to take off. First one at the top of the queue enter the run way and took of and within a minute, second plane enter the runway.

Below are this morning traffic at DMK

DMK Departures (1 departure every 3 minutes)

Seven days, two airports, "13,330" flights makes about 1900(!) flights to DMK and BKK per day. Even with a 24 hour nonstop operation this would be about 80 flights/hour(!!!).

    What an utter BS.

(or the world is coming to an end)

Official needs spectacles and a calc app.

Just checked the FlightRadar24.com. Around 1900 flights did arrived and departed DMK and BKK in last 24 hours. With this traffic, they can hit the 13,300 flights target in 7 days.
