  1. the idea that Abhisit isn't in favour of the recents arrests because he said he supports freedom of speech is ludicrous.

Who can forget his statement at a morning press conferecne saying he will be ensuring PAD is hed to account for the storming of teh airports and then in the afternoon he announces Kasit (leading PAD nut) as his foreign minister..the man is a pathological liar.

As a side note, equally revealing is the decision not to ask for 18 mio baht damages from PAD for the destruction and theft in Government House.

What damage? There was no damage.

PAD restored the old chapel, modernize the security system, decorate the interior, mow the lawn, fix the leaking roof, polish the marble floor, dust the furniture, stock up the fridge, oil the hinges, repair the old organ, clean the toilets, shovel the the driveway and bring out all the rubbish in nicely wrap black bin bags.

PAD should have charge Thaksin for the services. But since they are so kind, they do it for FREE.

  2. From the paper:

"I was angry. I grabbed my passport and walked out of the immigration area, saying: 'I'm a British citizen who has come to your country to spend my money. Don't treat me like a f---ing idiot,' " he told The Guardian.

IMHO, I think this is more likely:

"I was angry. I grabbed my passport and walked out of the immigration area, saying: 'I'm a British citizen who has come to your country to spend my money. F---ing idiots. "

  3. Can someone add a catalytic converter joke because I can't think of one.

Not something I'm aware that I've suffered from, I've had ants in a rental car that almost killed me - I sprayed some bug spray in the car then drove off - I had to stop because I was choking.

I would be wary of putting poison in the car, even the engine bay not knowing if the heat would release toxins into the cabin.

Having an oily engine might make the cables less tasty?

Some rat thai i know of are not very health concious. They actually like oily food.

  4. I replacement my Honda CRV (always on-road) tyres at 80,000 km. I must admit all 5 tyres was almost bald. I just went to the 2nd hand tyre shop and pick a resonable one at 500 Baht each (2,400 for 5). They come in 3 different brand. I don't care as I am a cheap Charlie, the Nana cowboy.

My first brake was replaced at 120,000 km. Looking at the worn pad, I could have push for another 30,000 km; but what the heck.

My gf do most of the driving. She drive really slow, and you guess it, like to hog the fast lane. TIT lol.

  5. If I ever hear or see a farang speak bad about the Thai Monarchy I will put him in the hospital.

It's quite evident that violence and intimidation goes with the territory. Nice yellow shirt!

Can anyone pass me the list of 50 foreigners. I am taking it to the police station and file a LM against them straight away. And if the police do not take action, I will file a LM against the police department. I will see if anyone dare to such a publicity stun again.

  6. anyone know how much for a seat/bed and how long does the journey take?

Samui are you jesting!!?? its only 3.5km long. Third class is 20 Baht and you maybe lucky to get a seat as up to 500 people a day are expected to use it.

Do they have 1st car sleeper cabin for the 3.5km. Not sure if the journey time is long enough for my gf and I to enjoy the trip to heaven, I mean Laos.

  7. Depending on your promotion.

    http://www.truemove.com/eng/product/package/tm_sim_inter.htm

    http://www.truemove.com/eng/product/packag...m_inter_con.htm

This SIM cost 49 baht (or free if you spend 300 baht at Swampy airport). It is valid will extend by 1 year each time you top up (minimun top up is 10 Baht), non cumulative.

eg. Top on on 1st March 2009, validity until 1st March 2010. Top up again on 7th March 2009, validity move to 7th march 2010.

Whe you 1st use the card, there will be some credit there already, but the validity is only like 30 days (can't remember exactly). Just go to 7-11 or any true shop to top up 10 Baht, and you will get your 1 year.

  8. Koo82

When Thaksin became PM 'he himself did not win election' same as Abhisit, they gained the majority of MPs to become PM. Get over it.

How about other questions????? You haven't answered 'who' is someone in the dark that the whole world know who they are.

The last day of ASEAN Summit, Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi told the press that he praised Thai PM Abhisit for the success of this ASEAN Summit and as the role of ASEAN Chairman in conducting the summit very well even though he's become PM less than 3 months, he personally admired PM Abhisit.

Is it a good news for Thailand? no? :o

In case you do not know, Abdullah Badawi is the most unpopular Prime Minister in Malaysian history.

  9. Not questioning the experience, but odd that AirAsia staff would do that, seems that would be a Malay immigration function.

Should a passenger be refused entry to a destined country on arrival , it is the requirement that the air company repatriate the traveller , guess Airasia were just covering thier rear ends . Even if you have a visa for that country , you can still be refused entry by immigration .

AirAsia/MH/TG/LH ALWAYS ask to see a return ticket (can be air, sea or land), visa or work permit when a Thai fly to Malaysia. No matter man woman or children. I CAN CONFIRM THIS, as they ask my gf that EVERYTIME (>10 times) without fail.

I have heard (not my own experience, hence I cannot confirm) that AirAsia will want you to buy a return ticket back to Thailand (can be airlines, to any Thai destination) before they give you a bording pass. Just to make a few more $$$?

I don't know what will happen if you do not have any of the above. DON'T GUESS; call them (the airline that you intend), and clearify the situation up before you buy the one way ticket. If they say it is OK, ask they to put it in writing. Would be glad if you share their feedback to the forum.

Same applies when travelling to EVERY COUNTRY (I experience Singapore, HK, Bali, HCM, etc) which Visa is not required for Thai. I CAN CONFIRM THIS.

ALSO, I have heard (not my own experience, hence I cannot confirm), that no airlines will give a Thai a bording pass if their passport is less than 6 months validity. Even if it is short by one day.

  10. Yes I know that BangkokAir do quite a few flight to/from UTP. I only use them on a need to use basis, on to go to Samui.

I agree that at current situation, it would be difficult to fill up a A320 (180 seats) on a daily basis. I just hope that LCC will come one day, maybe say fly twice a Phuket, twic a week Bali, etc.

Other than a lower fare, LCC can also take advantage of the lower landing fee, which I hope it will onpass to the pax.

Swampy departure airport tax alone is 700 Bahts. On the extreme, I bought a KUL-BKK for less than 50 MYR (500 Baht) becuase the KL LCCT departure tax is only 25 MYR.

  11. But Thai authorities were quick to deny the reports.

Supreme Commander Gen Ruengroj Mahasaranont said the ABC News report was "just fiction" and "exaggerated".

A statement was issued by the Foreign Ministry saying: "Our investigations with relevant government agencies reveal that there have been no such secret prisons in Thailand."

The air force's Civil Affairs Directorate said foreign agencies had never been allowed to use air force bases for "any secret operations". Only some official military activities like joint military exercises were allowed, the directorate's statement said.

"There is no fact in the unfounded claims," government spokesman Surapong Suebwonglee said at the time.

AGAIN, Thailand is caught for lying.

  12. Well, I lived in Mahasarakham for more than 7 years and rilly got fed off by the unfriendly chinese shop owners.

At some point, U vitually got pushed around the shop, they behaved like gods proxy.

As of today, theres still no Tesco or Big C around, so ppl will hv to wait.

Nevertheless, I strongly believe that Tesco is killing the local livehood around the country.

Taking over the retail market is not enough, Tesco is introducing its own makes (coffee, rice, sugar, palm oil) and this is surely not good for the economy.

BTW, who said Tesco is cheap? Here in bkk, they sell red grapes at a price of 160 THB/ kilo...in Mae Sai/ Chiang Rai the price is 60 THB... :o

Why are the Thai complaining when Hypermarket comes. All they do is "kill off unfriendly chinese shop owners" (I am just quoting above). Thai people must say a big Thank You to hypermarkets.

Secondly, how could Hypermarket introducing its own makes (coffee, rice, sugar, palm oil) is NOT good for the economy? Do that import them (coffee, rice, sugar, palm oil) from UK, France, Netherland, etc? Or do they source them (coffee, rice, sugar, palm oil) from Thailand anyway?
