MJCM,
I'm getting completely out of my range of knowledge now.
I tried to do both of the things you told me but couldn't even find my power management settings of the network devices or my router.
-
O.K,I've done what PIPIFFS said and was told that my drivers are up to date and the best for my
machine.
What next, how do turn the router off.

I have a D-tracker 125cc and the key is difficult to turn
is there something simple I can try before I bring it to the shop.
I see a guy on you tube using WD40 ,is that on sale here or is there a Thai equivalent.
How do you use it on a bike.

I usually buy my clothes online but the hassle is finding someone to ship to Thailand by registered post.
There is a thief somewhere between my house and Bangkok and clothes always go missing.
I can get them from eBay or Rakuten but with eBay I have to contact the seller and he may not ship by registered mail. With Rakuten it's a hassle with the language.
I found a website "socks for life" in Australia and it did registered post to Thailand, had good English and a huge selection and I thought that it would be great if I could find a site that did that for clothes.
So does anyone know a one stop shop for clothes, maybe some Aussies know one.I tried to find an Australian one but they didn't ship to Thailand.Maybe New Zealand would be more likely .................

So what I've learned from this post is that the the advice that people give about the recession being the best time to get into property is not true for Europe anymore because everybody has gotten into property by now.
And it's not true for Thailand because the house prices don't go down when there is a glut in the market. Why is that............
I know a guy with houses in France and Ireland who makes a living from them without ever doing much more than visiting the properties once a year
But maybe he's an exception.

I've already done the final extension so my 15 months are nearly up but I didn't know about the 60 day extension.
Do you have to do it on the day the old visa expires or just do it sometime before that.
Also what do you need to bring.........is it a hassle like the one year extension of stay.

Hi,
I am coming to the end of my first Non O for marriage.
I live near Mai Sai.
I have 2 questions.
What happens if I go back for a visa run in Mai Sai,how long will I get and for how many times.
And if I go to Savanakhet, are they still giving one year marriage visas without 400k in the bank.
I've done it before I just want to know what's changed.

O.K,
Thanks for the advice.
I will look into being an absentee landlord with property in Europe but even then one trip home a year would take a lot off the profit.
I like to live remote into the mountains in Thailand so whatever I get into it must be manageable from home.
What does that leave......an annuity?Betting that an insurance company wont "expire" before I do

O.K,
So two people that have tried it.
I would only buy something if the maths worked out.
One thing that would put me off is the smokey season and farangs moving out of CM/CR.
Neither of you seem to have used property managers.
What do you think of the buy a condo in Bangkok or Phuket and use a farang property manager thing that is recommended by some people.
The guy that wrote the book was an accountant.
I'm not arguing that he's right.Just curious......
-
right,
And how do you feel about what the estate agents say about buying a condo in a build up areas(Bangkok,Chiang Mai)..They say you can get 13% return of investment and hire a property manager..
I'm looking into this because I just read the book "how to start a successful business in Thailand"and he says it's possible to buy 5 condo's in Chiang Mai and make 50K a month on them.He even recommends an estate agent to deal with.
I'm not saying he's right i just want to find out if this is true or too good to be true.
Thanks for your advice so far.

Hi,
I 'm thinking of buying a property in Chaing Rai and renting it out but I want to get an idea of the market first.
Do you think I should buy a property for Thai tenants or expat tenements.
What kind of places are the expats living in and what would they prefer to live in.
In town or out of town, house or condo,is there a good property manager in town..........etc.
I would love to get some feed back on this..........
-
Got it.........Nice one............Thank you

Hi,
I let my AVG free antivirus install updates and now AVG Search is my homepage on my
Firefox.
I can't remember what version of FireFox I have but I remember changing the version and having to add Classic Theme Restorer add-on to be able to remove the navigation bar..
Whatever I did I can't change the homepage like I used to.I have the navigation bar removed and I can't restore it to change the homepage.
I would be very grateful if somebody knows what I'm talking about and could help me get out of this jam.

I have just seen the Pioneer prepaid debit card advertisement which said "make international bank transfers at a fraction of the cost"
Does anybody know what they actually charge and where the catch is.
My bank in Europe charges me 15 euros to wire my money to my Thai bank and the exchange is done in Thailand.
How do Pioneer do this at a fraction of the cost..........or where's the catch

Thanks,
As I said this is the third time it's been blockhead this year.
The last time I said that I was in Thailand a lot and I gave them my mobile phone number.
This time I will tell them I life here now that I know it will be O.K with them.
