Yes, absolutely he is semi senile at best, at least partly insane, incoherent, rambling, and the man cannot hold a train of thought for more than 15 seconds. In addition to that he cannot negotiate his way out of a paper bag, he was beaten by every world leader that he negotiated with in his last term, including Xi, Kim, Putin, MBS and others, and he wants to distance himself from the allies and relationships the US has spent a century building. All of this makes him perhaps the most dangerous man in the world. So, yes he should be questioned all the time.

Trump lied 22 times in his acceptance speech.
spidermike007 replied to CharlieH's topic in Political Soapbox
That is just who and what he is, he lies about everything, he deflects, he denies truth, and he abhors truth and morality. The problem is that his supporters do not hold him accountable for that, so he can get away with saying pretty much anything he wants. The media fact checks him, but then his supporters claim that the media is biased and wrong.- 336 replies

Because we are foreigners and we are famous here for thinking too much. Sometimes I wish I could be like the average Thai, and just live my day, be in the present, and not overthink everything.

Expats angry at huge concessions in latest Thai visa announcements
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Anyone investing any money here has to be conscious of the fact that these administrations are very inconsistent with policy, and policy is not based on conviction or vision, but rather on today's politics and the way the wind is blowing. If you look at the ganja decriminalization and the billions that have been invested in the industry, and then the turnaround and absolute betrayal on the part of the government, that's just another glaring example of how undependable these goons are.- 454 replies

Thai Teen Dies Making Homemade Bomb in Isaan

So, why the need for an autopsy? The cause of death seems pretty clear. Dumbness. -
Trump Warns of Unprecedented Global Conflict in RNC Speech
spidermike007 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Trump is utterly delusional. Justin Bieber has more influence over Putin than he does. He is owned by Vlad. Bought and paid for and no doubt highly compromised. Putin is a master at the art of Kompromat. He was beaten by Xi, in every negotiation they entered into. Same applies to MBS and Kim. This man loves to throw red meat to his crowd, and will say anything. He is never held responsible for his nonsense and his supporters never question his garbled and nearly incoherent tripe. Trump is likely the most dangerous man in the world.- 135 replies

He needs to drop out of the race. What he is doing now is purely selfish. He cannot win. And in my opinion they should not run Harris. But they likely will, and Shapiro would make a good VP candidate on the ticket. Anyone but Trump!

His convention speech was an absolute abomination, it was a pox on the face of articulation, and if it were being measured if it would have to go down as one of the worst speeches made so far this century. But his supporters don't seem to care, some have already acknowledged that he's a poor speaker, they've already acknowledged that he's rambles, that he's semi senile, and that he says anything that comes into his head. But, that does not seem to be an issue for most of his supporters. I partially blame the Democrats for putting forward such a weak candidate, but how anybody can support this numskull at this point is beyond me.

Irish footballer fights for his life after bike crash in Thailand

Riffing while playing jazz is a wonderful and completely understandable tactic, improvising while driving is not only not advisable it's just not respectful of other drivers. There are certain rules that must be followed on the road in order to ensure our survival, and that of the masses. Some people don't seem to know that, and some people don't seem to know that their own lives are on the line, and the lives of their families. -
Thai FM Denies Banks' Involvement in Myanmar Arms Sales
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
There is no doubt that Thailand has been aiding and abetting the Burmese military for a long time, likely long before this current conflict started, and the election was stolen over there. And here. There are countless reports on Thailand aiding these heinous leaders in Burma and there's no doubt that fortunes are being made on the conflict. I would guess that foreign minister Maris Sangiampongsa is a liar and a stooge for the administration. No reason to think otherwise. -
Any sort of investigative journalism here is very rare and uncommon, and should be encouraged and praised. It is greatly needed and appreciated. Nitwits like this developer need to be ignored, scorned, humiliated, and called out. There's an awful lot of people here with very deep pockets who are morally bankrupt, and their God is the golden calf. Whetever is done to call them out and make their lives difficult is a wonderful thing, and a great sign of progress.

Irish footballer fights for his life after bike crash in Thailand

Sorry to hear. Sounds dreadful. Many of us drive motorcycles or scooters here, and it is dangerous getting on the roads with some of these other drivers. Getting on a scooter, or a motorcycle anywhere in Thailand, much less Phuket, Phangan, Dark Tao, or Samui without a very good helmet, is like playing Russian Roulette with three or four bullets in the chamber. It is absolutely asking for problems. The degree of recklessness here is astounding. And many foreigners come here thinking "how much trouble could I get in on a little scooter, on a tropical island"? Well, the answer is alot. The amount of foreigners who are killed on the Southern islands is staggering. Most are not reported in the media. I had a friend who worked for Samui rescue for many years, and said the numbers were about 30-60 a month, on Samui, Phangan and Koh Tao. The official number is about 3 a month. Riders beware. Use as good a helmet as you can afford, and do not use these eggshells pieces of crap. They crack at the first impact, and what lies underneath them? Your skull, which is very delicate. I have been riding bikes for over 50 years. Without any serious accidents. A few minor ones over the years. Riding a bike here is very dangerous. If not the highest, one of the highest fatality rates in the world. And an accident here can be very costly, to your person. Just ask yourself- do I have enough problems already, without a broken skull, or smashed head, or face injury, or lost eye? I have three friends who have been in motorbike accidents on Samui within the last several years. One still cannot walk, or talk or function on her own, from a motorbike accident, where she hit her head on the pavement going only 20 kph. The other one has lost alot of his mental capacity after hitting his head. He insisted for years he would never wear a helmet. Now, he seems 15 years older. The third one is a close friend, who was hit by a sidecar, and nearly lost his leg. 11 operations later, he can walk, but with a limp, and the leg caused him constant problems, many years later. -
Thailand is facing so many headwinds right now, after 9 years of the Prayuth Decimation, with horrific economic policy and the economy on the skids. Now new car sales are down, used car sales are down, condo and home sales are down, consumer confidence is down, foreign investment is down, and manufacturing is down, so they would be utterly idiotic to allow the electricity rates to rise to at any significant level, anytime soon.

Comparing the Trump family to the Kennedy family would be a bit like comparing Kim Kardashian to Sophia Loren. There is just no comparison, they are ridiculous family, nearly all of them are ridiculous people, and I think if Trump does get reelected he will get run out of town at the end of his term, after destroying the economy, attempting, but failing to tear up the constitution, and degrading relations with nearly every US ally.

Thai Airways Among World's Top Ten Airlines in 2024
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Skytrax is alot more credible. Thai is NOT a top ten airline. I've flown on them many times including a recent trip from Paris to Bangkok and although I didn't have any complaints, it was nowhere near top 10 in service or amenities. Business class might be a different story on some flights, but unfortunately I did not fly in that class. -
That is such a completely ridiculous law and is counter-intuitive on a dozen different levels. It is very likely that Musk is moving for several reasons, and not just that reason. Many major companies have left California and the vast majority of people that I know who lived in California and could afford to move elsewhere have already done so. The quality of life has declined dramatically and the cost of living has skyrocketed, while the politics have become increasingly more extreme and progressive, in a very negative way. Extreme politics on either the left or the right are dreadful.

In many areas of Thailand the legal minimum wage is between 300 and 400 Baht per day, which is what they're paying their Burmese workers. They're not trying to get away with paying less than that, however many Thai workers will not accept that wage for really hard work, and they're forced to hire immigrants, whether they're illegal or not. That is precisely why your statement was so ridiculous and ignorant of the facts and the reality on the ground, at the same time.

Thai AirAsia Seeks Government Aid Amidst Falling Travel Demand
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
When you engage in shameless gouging and practice an ugly form of corporate greed, there are consequences, and sometimes when all is right in the world the public just simply says no, I don't think so. No I'm not going there, no I'm not going to pay triple, that's not going to happen, and instead of buying your ticket they just simply turn around and walk in another direction. You can't then turn around and ask the government for assistance, you have to simply accept responsibility for failed corporate policy. Or accept the failure that you created. -
Do Thai women make the best wives?
spidermike007 replied to bob smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I would not want a wife with a higher degree. For a dozen good reasons. Most women want financial stability anywhere in the world, whether they admit it or not. The difference is here the women are more honest about their financial needs and desires. I know a lot of men who have engaged in relationships with lovely, kind, supportive, humorous, and sexy women here, who are no longer lonely. We have very good lives. Fulfilling lives. Lives we could never dream of having back in the US, Oz, NZ, UK, Canada, or Scandinavia. Even though my wife is very smart, I do not get much intellectual stimulation from the relationship. But, I get so much else. And in all of the relationships I was ever in with really smart women, who I got intellectual stimulation from, there was also so much grief to contend with. Such combative women. So much competition. Yikes. Thrilled to death to have left all of that behind. When I was only in the relationship for a year or so, I had dinner with a very sharp American friend. I asked him about that. He laughed. He said, when you feel the need for intellectual stimulation, call me. We can hook up for the meal, and break down the origins of the cosmos. Do not fret. That same brain that gives you that stimulation, also tends to give you so much grief, it is not worth it, on any level. Get over it. Enjoy all of the other qualities, that make your day so delightful and fulfilling. Great advice, that I have followed to this day. I learned long ago that an intellectual woman, who can match me intellectually, also tends to be a combative woman, and the chance of harmony is low. I for one, love a harmonious house, where my woman is joyful and light hearted, with a great sense of humor, and an amazing attitude toward life, and us. Just my point of view. Whatever works for you, stick with it.
