  1. The withdrawal was an utter disaster and very symptomatic of the horrific foreign policy conducted under the Trump Administration. The abandonment of the translators and the Afghan army was perhaps the most heinous aspect of the whole deal. The Trump administration in February 2020 negotiated a withdrawal agreement with the Taliban that excluded the Afghan government, freed 5,000 imprisoned Taliban soldiers and set a date certain of May 1, 2021, for the final withdrawal. And the Trump administration kept to the pact, reducing U.S. troop levels from about 13,000 to 2,500, even though the Taliban continued to attack Afghan government forces and welcomed al-Qaeda terrorists into the Taliban leadership.
  2. He said he couldn't help himself. Really? He literally could not wait until he got home, what is up with a man exposing himself like that in public? It strikes me as a very bizarre thing to do, he must be a real freaky desperado. Lock him up. Or get him some psychiatric help.
  3. Anyone caught trying to rob somebody should be identified and their photos should be spread throughout the nation like the thieving street rats that they truly are. Fortunately, this kind of thing is fairly uncommon with regard to foreigners getting robbed here. Let's hope it remains that way.
  4. They're using a play from Putin's playbook. Get rid of all the competition and all that's left are the despot leaders. The rancid, toxic Army is truly desperate at this point, they're showing their true colors.
  5. Why wouldn't be letting we be letting our guard down? It's an endemic disease at this point, it's just part of life. I am much more worried about catching a cold or a flu than I am about covid, and I'm never going to get another vaccine for covid for the rest of my life
  6. Why weren't safety controls already in effect? Who is responsible within the local government for inspecting these factories? Why aren't they doing their job? Who is responsible within the company for safety inspections? Fireworks in and of itself is a very dangerous thing to manufacture, why would any company that's manufacturing explosives not have very thorough safety inspections? Will anybody be held to account, will the owner of the company be jailed for manslaughter? It does look like intentionally neglect.
  7. In general commercially purchased meatballs, hot dog products purchase at the supermarket or 7-Eleven are spectacularly unhealthy types of food and you're taking a huge risk. Nobody knows what the ingredients are, nobody will tell you what the ingredients are, nobody wants to tell you what the ingredients are, if you knew what the ingredients are you likely wouldn't eat it. You are putting that stuff in your body after all.
  8. They may be a small part of the government but behind the scenes my guess is that they wield a lot of control. Never forget who is the power behind the army.
  9. Well, it is sure obvious over the past few decades that the US is very ill equipped to support the support the growth of democracy, in an area that was once highly repressed. Not a bad aspiration but how do you implement it in a region that doesn't seem to want it, or is incapable of supporting it?
  10. War crimes are being committed on a daily basis, why not at least commit war crimes that make sense and accomplish much?
  11. Trump was not only a terrible negotiator who could not negotiate his way out of a paper bag, but he appointed the worst person possible to lead the negotiations. Jared Kushner might be capable of running a kindergarten but he certainly failed at trying to establish peace in the Middle East.
  12. I think the whole region from Pak Nam Pran (Pranburi Beach area) all the way down to Ban Saphan Noi is an incredible region, cleaner air, very clean towns, incredible beaches, light population, great food, the entire area has a lot to offer relatively, and a low cost of living too.
  13. Well maybe, maybe not. Is a vacuum worse than extremist Imams and insane Ayatollahs with ridiculous amount of oil money supporting terrorist groups throughout the entire region, in an organized manner?
  14. Okay maybe not all but I would guess 99%. All you have to do is ask, you'll be shocked at the range of services that they offer.
  15. I think I'm more targeted approach like taking out the Ayatollah and some of the top officials in Iran would be a good place to start. You don't need a war for that.
  16. If this guy is celebrating the success of a program to tackle air pollution he must be off his medications. I have no idea what he's talking about, or where he's talking about, but either he's joking, he's completely delusional, or he's just throwing out another one of his slick sales pitches, hoping someone buys his nonsense.
  17. Yeah I think Chumporn generally does have good air quality, but it is such an uninteresting town, there's really nothing about the town that has any character and I find the area quite dull. There are a few nice beaches but other than that to me there's just no appeal. And it is isolated.
  18. I'm glad he finally admitted to being a salesman, because that is exactly what he is, a slippery, slick peddler of who knows what. He is attempting to sell a bill of goods to the people of Thailand, but I don't think very many are buying it. Maybe he's having more success on the international stage. He must seem quite impressive compared to his predecessor.
  19. A reasonable request considering how much aid the US has given Thailand over the years. I think they have the right to keep China's Armed Forces out of Thailand's business to the extent that is possible. After all, how much direct aid has China given Thailand?
  20. Completely ridiculous, if any protests should be taking place right now it should be anti-army and anti stolen election. The people should be in an uproar over an election that's been stolen from them from the army thieves.
  21. What a completely bizarre statement, there were more than one mass murder a day in 2023 in America and you're comparing Thailand? Who knows what this was all about, just be thankful that very little of the violence here is Thai on foreigner, it's almost entirely Thai on Thai. Let them do their thing, survival of the fittest I guess. Thailand is still an incredibly safe place for most of us to live. Infinitely safer than living in the West.
  22. She and her mother are both gorgeous. Way to go, Mom. She probably got a smell of the stench emanating from Thai politics, and just decided to run for the hills. She also likely just came to the conclusion that she could do a lot more good in local politics than in national politics, which is a huge sewer pit of desolation.
  23. I remember Naam. Met her in a bar on Soi 22. Lovely gal. She loved money and she had no issues with debt. Just like America.
  24. Yes it's very sad, it's truly pathetic, it's a completely broken system. The health insurance cost is ridiculously expensive and if you don't have it, often times you do have to skip treatment because the cost is so insane. He had a choice of getting an implant, but at $5,000 that's only for the those that have significant savings, or great insurance. America is great? I don't think so. Let me count the ways she has failed her people and the world.
