  1. You should date for a minimum of 2 to 3 years before even moving in together, and perhaps add another year or two on to that before you consider getting married. There are just too many variables, there's so many things about her that you don't know at this point Until you've spent thousands upon thousands of hours with her you really don't know who she is. Time is your ally not hers, use it.
  2. There are some very good dentists here in Thailand. In the last several years I had a bridge installed, a couple of root canals, a few crowns and an implant, and the work was fantastic. The implant cost 40,000 baht in America it is $5000. The crowns cost 9000 baht, in America they're $1500. The root canals were 9000 baht, in America they're $1800. Dentistry and medical in the US is bordering on absolute silliness when it comes to pricing.
  3. Yes you definitely let us all down, never say no to a shower and a rub down from two beautiful nurses. That should be a lifelong rule. You will like the regret this for many years to come.
  4. Thank you for such an articulate and well thought out reply.
  5. Is this an admission on the part of the government that this is all that a Thai life is worth? Why such leniency towards the owner of the factory? Is he going to be prosecuted, is he going to face any jail time?
  6. What on earth was this moron doing on a train crossing? How do you get stuck on a train crossing, did his truck stall, did he run out of gas, what on earth happened? Typically truck drivers have skills, and situational awareness. They are capable of causing massive destruction if they don't exercise those qualities. Obviously this guy didn't. Sympathies to the family of the train conductor.
  7. Yeah those dedicated home theaters are not very good, even when you spend 30 or 40,000 baht it's still not particularly good sound. I have a real home theater with a powerful Yamaha amp, front, rear, and surround Canadian speakers, high-end speaker wires and a top end 12-in subwoofer along with a huge center speaker. And a 77 inch OLED TV. It cost me over 400,000 baht, but it was worth it was worth. It it's incredible and the sound is amazing. The dialogue is super clear.
  8. Yes I suppose the police would be the ones required to enforce the laws, or perhaps a regulatory agency of some sort, but first there has to be political will and right now there is none. Sretta is a big talker and a born salesman, and he's got that $800 million smile that he thinks is all he needs. But we need performance, we need action, and as everyday passes by, his height seems to be shrinking, and he seems to become a smaller and smaller man with his extreme lack of action. Looks like at this point he may be comparable to Samak in terms of being a grossly inferior PM, and an enormously terrible leader, and a huge tragedy for Thai Society.
  9. The Israeli lobby is simply too powerful and they spend too much money in the US. It's virtually impossible for Israel to lose American support, and Netanyahu seems to know that, so he keeps pushing and pushing. Fortunately his popularity at home is incredibly low, a recent poll show that only 15% of Israelis want to see him continue leading after this war is over, so hopefully he'll be ousted and sent into oblivion very soon. He's the last man in the world that should be leading Israel right now.
  10. Well I can only speak for myself, I do have a life, I have a very good life. I do rage on this forum occasionally, but I would never describe myself as an outraged netizen, I don't take this stuff very seriously and I'm mostly posting just for fun, and the sort of camaraderie that comes with interactions with other guys on this forum, many of whom are very intelligent and articulate, so speak for yourself. Ha!
  11. Absolutely correct, and it could be PR on the part of this desperate administration, as they are accomplishing absolutely nothing, and they probably realize that they're failing to a dramatic extent, with virtually everything that they touch. The air is a very serious issue and it needs to be addressed, but it needs to be addressed with seriousness and competence, and there's not a nanogram of any of that to be found in this current failed administration.
  12. The vast majority of the pollution here is generated locally, and I would guess at least 60% of it is from sugarcane burning. The sugarcane farmers and the refiners need to be punished, the refiners need to be punished severely, but there's no political will to do that as they are huge agri corps. The other issue is that Sretta probably ranks up there with Samak (remember his cooking show?) in being the extreme bottom of the barrel in terms of talent and ability to lead the nation. They could not have picked a worse candidate at this point in time.
  13. I had the same issues 15 years ago in Los Angeles and I went to a doctor, had chest x-rays, blood panels and other work done to determine if I had any serious lung ailments. Everything came back negative and he said I think you're developing an allergy to pollution. I said I've never had allergies in my life he said as you get older you develop allergies so I think the only solution for you is to invest in some very serious air filters not the cheap ones, the ones with the large filtration units. I did so, and most of my symptoms that I have been wrestling with for years disappeared within 48 hours. So you can try that, or move from where you are.
  14. Sorry the system is acting up again and gave me those bizarre 10-second warnings and ended up posting this five times
  15. It's just a matter of simple dignity, what is a man if he gives up his dignity, and why pursue something that just isn't there? Why would you pursue a woman who doesn't want you? I think it really comes down to self-esteem, self love, self-respect and basic stuff like that, that a well developed man possesses.
  16. I think it is high time to withdraw all US support for Israel starting with dollar one. The Israelis have a lot of industry and a lot of wealth, let them fend for themselves for a while, then perhaps they can learn the definition of respect and gratitude.
  17. I think the parallel definition for outraged netizen is "I am somebody that does not have any sort of life whatsoever".
  18. I always thought the definition of a Peeping Tom was somebody who looked in a window or spied on someone with a video camera or something like. This guy was actually in the woman's room, on her bed touching her. That's a whole different matter and that's a whole different level of offense. Both are bad, but this is worse. Some punishment is justified for peeping on someone, a much higher level of punishment is justified for sneaking into someone's bedroom and fondling them.
  19. It would sure be nice if they had non-stops from Bangkok to Los Angeles, one would think that there might be enough demand. When I fly on EVA the flights are nearly always full.
  20. The court is essentially saying we do not believe that you are just window dressing, we do not believe that you are simply a puppet with a big smile, we actually believe that you are capable of action. Promises and declarations are not the same thing as action. Action is what real men undertake, action happens when people care enough to make things happen, and to punish the corporate interests that are causing the foul air with the sugar refineries. Sretta, is it possible that you're capable of some action? Don't talk, show us something, show us anything.
  21. Hello, do you know me? Have you been following my life? How do you know what criticisms have been leveled against me over the last 40 years or so? Just because you haven't seen specific criticisms on this thread does not mean you know anything about my life as an American Jew. I have consistently faced criticism for being judgmental towards really bad Israeli policy. There's very much a "you're either with us or you're against us" mentality, when it comes to the Jewish state. Please at least try to be more articulate and reasoned in your replies.
  22. Incorrect, I've never advocated against the right for Israel to exist, I have no problem with the Israeli people. I've long had problems with Israeli government policy and recently it's more extremist than it's ever been. However, unlike what you state there is a high level of criticism towards anyone who expresses criticism of Israeli government policy, the prosecution of this war against the Gazans, the methods used, and things of that nature.
