  1. It is quite heartening to see an incredibly corrupt company like Gazprom, who have enriched multiple oligarchs as well as the genocidal serial killing Putin suffer and decline. They richly deserve this.
  2. Yeah they seem like likely partners, they're both nations that have serial killing leadership, and police, they both possess a total and complete moral bankruptcy that stretches throughout all ranks of government, and in the case of Iran the entire clergy.
  3. These kind of things must be nipped in the bud, these tactics could lead to the moral degradation of the nation, could compel people to act an immoral fashion, and could tear apart the very fabric of a nation famed for its purity of mind.
  4. An incredibly simplistic approach to a very complex problem there is a reason why wealthy tourists are avoiding Thailand, and have been for some years now, there are a few here but very few. Lower luxury taxes to 20%. This would help Thailand to attract some wealthy tourists again. Most wealthy people love to spend real money while on vacation. Contrary to what you think, wealthy foreigners are NOT dumb. They do not enjoy paying for stunningly over priced items, and will wait for their next trip to London, Hong Kong, Singapore, New York, Nassau, or Dubai to buy a handbag at what it should cost, rather than what you think foolish people will pay. 1. Improve traffic safety. 2. Improve immigration service. 3. Get rid of the toxic army. 4. Address corruption. 5. Pay attention to air quality. 6. Stop treating tourists like dogs. This applies to the govt., not the people. That is just a start. I could go on for days. Do not expect the wealthy tourists to return. They come here once, if they come at all. And they do not return for a dozen good reasons like the lack of top quality service, expertise, shopping, English skills, sommelier service, fairly priced world class wine, high standard F & B, and the list goes on.
  5. The fat and old and ugly ones do. The thin, younger and pretty ones look good with as little clothing as possible.
  6. What a lot of Trump followers don't seem to acknowledge is that we did get a king. This man will pay total disregard to law and order, he will pay total disregard to any to any International agreements that the US has already engaged in, and will behave like a out of control renegade. Exactly as a very bad king would behave.
  7. Everybody seems to have a different opinion about family. I feel very fortunate to have had a very good and healthy relationship with my folks while they were still around, and to have a very close relationship with all three of my sisters? For me it makes life a lot richer. In addition I have a close relationship with my Thai woman's family who are absolutely wonderful people.
  8. You might not be the only one but you are certainly one of the only few. I've never in my life done that I don't anticipate ever doing that. I always get to the airport 3 hours early for an international flight, so there's very little likelihood of me missing the flight.
  9. He's hugely unqualified, he's at least partially insane and he's probably the last guy that should be given the job. It's likely that the only two reasons he's being offered a prominent position is his backing of Big Don during the campaign, and his anti-vax stance.
  10. Do you have any sense of comparison between the ADV 350 and the Honda Forza 350? I have the latter, and I like it very much, but I love the design of the ADV 350 and have been quite curious about it.
  11. Maybe. But easier here.
  12. Try the Honda ADV 160. In my opinion, it is a far better bike. Better performance, braking, suspension, etc.
  13. Very easy. If you have some game, if you have a great sense of humor, and are able to make them laugh and feel relaxed, if you are decent looking, and dress decently, and are well groomed, it can be quite easy here. Generally, Thai woman are very comfortable with their femininity, with flirting, and open to talking with someone who approaches them, very unlike women in the West, these days. Of course, it also depends on who you pursue. If you are going after wealthy women, who are wearing $3,500 outfits, you will likely get turned down. If you are in your 30's, Thailand is your oyster. There are hundreds of thousands of good looking, younger Thai women who are open to being with a foreigner, as long as he is financially stable. 98% of women want that stability. You simply need to be very assertive, have some game, hopefully have a minimal amount of bling, and a great sense of humor. If you can get them to laugh within a few moments of striking up a conversation with them, you are on your way. Gals who work in hotels, restaurants, retail stores, etc. Stay away from the beach areas, and you will be fine finding a real civilian. Step up to the plate often, and just approach as many strangers are you can. Make a sport of it. Also, I have friends who use Tinder, and in Bangkok 98% of the gals on Tinder are civilians, who are looking for a friend, a date or some romance. Many of them are highly successful, open to a foreigner, and do not have time for a relationship, from what I am told by a few difference guys.
  14. Kudos to the marine authorities for a quick response. This could have been quite a disaster.
  15. According to the widely used, although somewhat hard-to-find-credit-for figures, a heart is worth around $1 million in the US. Livers come in second, worth about $557,000 and kidneys cost about $262,000 each. https://medicalfuturist.com/how-much-is-life-worth/
  16. The sceptic will argue that anything we do could not possibly influence the climate, or effect the atmosphere. The planet is simply too large, and the population is too small to have any effect. Let the ships dump whatever they want into the ocean. The ocean is simply too large for anything we do to damage it. This frees them to buy as many plastic bottles as they please, drive filthy diesel vehicles, and behave as if nothing effects anything. It's not us. It is just a cycle. We are not responsible.
  17. This is just more total and complete nonsense from Anutin, who does not have a sincere bone in his body, and his rarely ever in his career has done anything to benefit the people of Thailand other than the ganja initiative. Of course this is just a silly dream, everybody's making so much money with this bizarre patronage system, when hundreds of thousands of baht are being paid for a low position and millions are being paid for a high position. The fortunes that are being made and the illegal and illicit funds that are being collected are astonishing and shameful. Every single department in Thailand is corrupt from the local, to the state government, to the federal government. You cannot get a position within the government at any level, the police, customs or immigration without buying that position. Everybody knows that and fortunes are being made on a daily basis. My woman's sister-in-law just paid 200,000 baht for a lowly 10,000 baht a month position in their local village. It's so common.
  18. I'll bet China can't wait to have them returned so they can harvest their organs and sell them for a small fortune.
  19. His name is Namsod; he's the son of the (former?) headman of Sairee Beach, and he is (allegedly) the serial killer. Many know it; the police know it, but his family is worth a quarter of a billion dollars due to illegal land sales, and he's virtually untouchable.
  20. Great idea, go ahead and cut from the departments that help the people that are the most in need, and use it to pay for massive tax cuts for greedy corporations, and his super wealthy friends. Nobody should be surprised that Trump would engage in this kind of reckless, callous, and horrific policy. That is just who he is, if you could ever refer to him as the man of the people you'd have to refer to him as the man of the super wealthy people. He cares not one iota for anyone who's not wealthy.
  21. Death Island claims another one. I wonder what the circumstances were in this particular case, typically you're diving with a buddy and you just don't hear about too many people at that relatively low level of diving skill dying from scuba. The well deserved reputation of Dark Tao continues.
  22. This can be a very hazardous sport in difficult conditions, a friend of mine is a highly skilled kitesurfer and he just broke several bones in his hand trying to launch his kite in a high wind. It's not a sport for the faint at heart, especially during tough conditions.
  23. Okay you get the award for dumbest post of the week not just the day. You are continuing the petty blame game during the biggest natural disaster in America's history, wow the size of your heart astonishes all of us. Just a little bit of information for your engineering challenged mind. Absolutely zero connection with the reservoirs upstate. Just a biased, tired, untruthful political meme. The real story? Officials now say the storage tanks that hold water for high-elevation areas like the Highlands, and the pumping systems that feed them, could not keep pace with the demand as the fire raced from one neighborhood to another. That was in part because those who designed the system did not account for the stunning speeds at which multiple fires would race through the Los Angeles area this week. “We are looking at a situation that is just completely not part of any domestic water system design,” said Marty Adams, a former general manager and chief engineer at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, which is responsible for delivering water to nearly four million residents of Los Angeles. Municipal water systems are designed for firefighters to tap into multiple hydrants at once, allowing them to maintain a steady flow of water for crews who may be trying to protect a large structure or a handful of homes. But these systems can buckle when wildfires, such as those fueled by the dry brush that surrounds Los Angeles’s hillside communities, rage through entire neighborhoods.
  24. I solved my problem and I guess I'm going to have the next 10 to 20 years in a prison to think about it and reflect upon it. I am such a success, and an amazing individual, see what I've accomplished, nobody can ever accuse me of having a small brain.
