It's a pity this wasn't broken into 2 separate threads, buying to use and buying to grow are 2 totally different topics Someone needs to start a growing thread, although probably too late now

Thailand looks at easing visa rules in bid to boost tourism
aussiexpat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News Headlines
Do you think your circle of family and friends make up the World view? I know many people like myself who do 60 days Thailand, 60 days home country for 6 months a year in Thailand. Now I can do 75 days at a time -
Another one that doesn't get it. It's our choice to come to Thailand or not, and that choice is currently not as I prefer to go to places that have zero covid rules in place No Thai Pass, no forced insurance, no masks, no midnight bar closures, no ever changing, flip flopping rules on a monthly basis confusing people....

Anywhere to get the gummie bears yet, or Amsterdam style Space Cakes ????

What's your point? I'm not going to Thailand because I don't want to do Thai Pass with scam covid specific insurance and have to wear a mask everywhere I go (as well as bars closing at midnight). I'd rather enjoy my holiday with freedom as it was pre-covid

Covid extensions
aussiexpat replied to Kevinphall's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Covid extensions are granted for 60 days from your current expiry. I applied in Jomtien so had the under consideration stamp first, but final stamp was for 60 days from my current expiry (I applied 2 weeks before so thought I might lose 2 weeks, but didn't) -
Covid extensions

I'm just wondering what the computer says, is it purely a stamp mistake issuing 40 days but computer says correct 30 days? I'd be going for the covid extension before the 13 July to be safe, but that's just me ???? -
Easy to understand why this has not gone forward. They want to only apply the fee to non-Thai so this would require two different prices for tickets which airlines and travel agents around the world will not do. This leaves collecting 300 baht cash on arrival, so imagine the extra lines prior to immigration when the magical millions of tourists return (as per TAT)

Covid extensions
aussiexpat replied to Kevinphall's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I assume you mean 41 days from the date of issue. An extension is granted for 30 days from current visa exempt expiry date no matter when you apply -
Beware pre june 1 thai pass.
aussiexpat replied to Marky Mark Mark's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
"Cannot.....even old thai pass needs to adopt the 3 day plus or minus" Note that the latest Thai Pass is not plus or minus (just within 3 days after) as per the following from the Thai Pass application -
What a ridiculous statement. I live 600m from LK Metro and as it's bloody hot outside I'm happy to get the baht bus down Bukhao instead of turning up drenched in sweat What, do you propose I hire a taxi so I don't look cheap in your eyes lol I think the baht bus is one if the things that makes Pattaya unique and I love how easy it is to get around their bus loop for 10 baht.

Thailand pass departure country
aussiexpat replied to Tayida's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OP, is Spain to France a separate ticket to the France-Dubai-Bangkok flight? If you have to gather your bags and clear customs in France then technically your international departure to Thailand is from France -
Frustrated with Pattaya beach deckchair businesses!
aussiexpat replied to simon43's topic in Pattaya
What a load of rubbish, I see many people sitting on the beach in front of deckchairs...it is 5km long, plenty of sand to go around
