  1. Being drunk is another possibility. Some fruits ferment in the elephant's stomach. We were charged by a drunk elephant once when on a safari. Luckily our jeep was faster than the elephant. I even managed to get a photo of my B-I-L with fear on his face and the elephant closing in behind him.
  2. He's a game old lad but at his age, he should have learned to forgive and forget. Not sure how they will punish him as I believe that he is too old to go to gaol.
  3. It is a sad country when I look a the headline and think to myself - 'Asians'. That is before I even click on the story.
  4. There is still one Thai being held - location and health unknown and there are two bodies that need to be repatriated to Thailand.
  5. Hamas knew exactly what they were doing. All part of the belittling of Israelis and showing their Palestinian supporters how clever and powerful the leadership is.
  6. Really? Rangsiman, chairing the House Committee on National Security, revealed that since the licensing for the system expired, the Bureau has only been capturing facial images and fingerprints, not true biometric data. He warns it could take up to 29 months to reinstate a functioning system, with procurement yet to commence.
  7. And now we know why the wolves are after Big Joke. He was right back then and probably right now. His problem is that if he spills all of the beans, it will not be an empty car that gets shot up next time.
  8. When I saw the headline I thought that it was going to be about this horrible stuff
  9. Is it just me thinking this, or are there more and more vehicles 'bursting into flames' these days?
  10. What press freedom? There has never been press freedom here in Thailand. The press and the internet are censored.
  11. "Undercover Officers Uncover Khon Kaen Prostitution Scam" So where was the scam? The girl offered a service and turned up to provide it.
  12. Good luck on asking the 'scam and kiddy diddler' enablers for help. They will probably pay lip service to it but not much else. Same as they do with most requests to restrict their services. Clicks mean money. Any click will do, be it good or bad.
  13. There are a lot of Japanese living in certain areas in Bangkok and I understand that the restaurants cater mainly to them. I have some friends who worked and lived in Japan for many years. They always go to some of the Japanese restaurants in those areas as the food is authentic, unlike the mostly 'fake' Japanese food found in areas outside of Bangkok.
  14. Some heroic bystanders there. Sad that one ended up giving his life for others.
  15. I cannot see how that would work as in a case like this. By the time the bike has reached the 'elevated' crossing, it will still be going too fast to make any difference, surely.
  16. References all over the internet and papers. From 2019 https://www.newsweek.com/dangers-vaping-facts-statistics-health-risks-e-cigarettes-lung-illness-causes-teen-deaths-1462071
  17. He was elected democratically. It is suicide to change horses mid race when the guy in charge is doing a good job. Any election now would have major outside interference (as shown already by the two dictators - Putin and his poodle). The Ukrainians want him there. Other should butt out with their crass comments.
  18. For goodness sake people, how many kids are going to die before someone starts to enforce the law vigorously. Life is going to be extremely difficult for this poor lass from now on all because people think that vaping is safe. (and please do not bother telling me that you have been vaping for 150 years and your lungs are fine 'cough! cough!')
  19. As always in this terrorist infested area, no one saw anything or knows anything.
  20. OK, this is not a retirement extension, but maybe there is hope on the horizon. Good friends come to Samui for three months every year with a quick break in KPN for two weeks. Typical snow-birds on a two month visa and applying for a one month extension. Last year, the extension was whilst they were on KPN. I had warned them to ask the hotel for a copy of the TM 30, but there was a lot of kerfuffle as the hotel had entered something wrong on it so there was a bit of to-ing and fro-ing to get it corrected. Queues at KPN immigration This morning they have just been to Samui immigration. No queue, presented documents downstairs, did not need the TM 30, and straight upstairs. Processed immediately then a 10 minute wait for the stamp and passports back and out. Start to finish - 20 minutes. Is this a record? They are still recovering from the shock
  21. We (and the government) have known that this has been going on for ages. Thailand finally gets off its butt only when Big Brother Xi says something .
  22. If Hamas turn this into another 'dog and pony show', then the attacks on Hamas should be resumed.
  23. And it did not occur to the assistant abbot to call for an ambulance? But rather, he also left the poor abandoned chap on the floor outside. Selfish git.
