Thai PM to Address Cabinet on Urgent PM2.5 Pollution Measures
Yak, yak, yak, blah, blah, blah. Why not try doing something for a change.

Palang Pracharath Rejects Pheu Thai Government's Casino Proposal
Never in a million years did I think that I would agree to anything that Prawit said. However, I now stand corrected. (I do realise that this is a ploy for him to try and get some of the backhanders, nonetheless.....)

Car Crashes After Tree Falls Due to Grass Fire in Suphan Buri
And the burnings continue. No one seems to care. Just carry on as before.

Thailand's Exports Hit Record High, Tourism Set for Lunar New Year
And Thailand's wonderful Finance Minister and PM both said that the 'unacceptably high' interest rates would kill exports. Hmm - who to believe.

Nationwide Face Mask Distribution Begins to Combat Air Pollution
Fix the bluddy problem Thailand. It has been happening for years. A week's supply of masks is as much use as a plaster on an amputation.

Living in Thailand
I live on Koh Samui (25 years now) and there is very little obvious crime. I live on a private development where there is very basic security and I have never locked my doors or windows. When my wife was alive, she felt very safe wherever we lived in Thailand. (She had been mugged twice in her home town in the UK - Birmingham.)

Combined car+motorcycle Thai driver's license not possible?
Yes, two licences are a must. I have no idea if the translation fees etc are good or not, but they do not seem too unreasonable. First ones last two years and then renew every five years after that.

British Man Arrested in Thailand for 20-Year-Old UK Murder Case
Not really. The body was not identified until some time in 2019. The police would start looking after that.

Two Teenage Girls Killed in Collision in Sattahip
It amazes me the dumb arguments being presented here to justify comments and blame victims. speeding - a distraction no helmet - a distraction on phone - a distraction no licence - a distraction From the short video clip, there is no evidence of any of these distractions being fact or not. We will never know. The only fact is that there is a big black car, at night, in a place where it should not be. Very sad for their families.

Thailand Introduces Online TM6 as Tourism Fee Faces Delays
That was not my experience back in November. They did not confirm the MDAC within the three days that we were told to do it, and no one asked me for it when I entered Malaysia (and I still did not have one).

Bangkok Police Officers Detained for Alcohol on Duty
Not really that startling. Happens all of the time. I hope that they do not realise who took the video.

Thank God the burning has stopped......
Plastic bags, plastic containers, plastic packaging etc. Yes, here there are folk going through the bins collecting plastic bottles, cans, cardboard etc, but there is still a lot of plastic that cannot be recycled. The worst one is the styrofoam. These unsellables are what they burn and the smoke is toxic.

Students Hospitalised After Food Poisoning at Koh Samui Scout Camp
I have lived on the island for 25 years now and this is the first time that I have heard of something like this, so I am surprised. I wonder why relatively few students were affected.

VietJet named one of world’s safest airlines in 2025
Very good airline but try getting money back from them and the gloss fades. I had a flight to Vietnam that I had to cancel for a medical emergency 24 hours before I was due to fly. Nowhere on the Vietjet website of confirmation to cancel/claim a flight. Finally found VietJet's head office contact details. Sent an email explaining all. They finally responded after a day or two and told me that I booked through VietJet Thai. Different company. I explained that nowhere does any of my documentation mention VietJet Thai. Website, flight confirmation etc all state VietJet. By now I am no show, not a cancellation. Ding!!!

CCTV Cameras
Take a couple of beers round and have a friendly, 'fireside' chat. Preferably outside. (Neutral territory.) Thank the neighbour for increasing security in the area and offer to do the same. Then add 'just one small thing..... the camera is not looking at the best position' and suggest a slight change.

I print those on pieces of paper. Never had a problem yet. And as you say, does not need batteries or wifi.

Thailand Introduces Online TM6 as Tourism Fee Faces Delays
I do not use phone apps and have no wifi on my phone. Never needed it. It is a phone. It is for talking to people and taking the occasional photo.

Thailand Introduces Online TM6 as Tourism Fee Faces Delays
Utter rubbish. Thailand is a police state and they want to know where everyone is. End of.
