and always urging people to get vaccinated as soon as possible.. But there are no vaccines available only Sinovac which is proven many times it is not effective and other vaccines are in the country not available.. Mor Prom doesn't work and I know from several people that they are waiting already for more than 4 months without any possibility to get an appointment, But on the other hand we also heard that friends of people in hospital are being vaccinated without any appointment.. There is some work to do....
Take a look at this if you are contemplating Sinovac:

25% effective- might be considered an oxymoron.
And Those considering it may be MORONS.

Thailand are not unique in being complacent. Look at the low vax rates in Japan, Korea, Oz and Vietnam plus others in this neck of the woods.
True enough, but as the discussion is about Thailand. I don't see your point.

1 hour ago, Spock said:Why was export over domestic use agreed to in the first place? The Australian manufacturer of AZ produces vaccine for Australia first and foremost. I would have thought Thailand would have the same arrangement, supplying its own people first then the region later. The vaccine rollout is more incompetent than I previously thought. Where did the government anticipate that there supplies were going to come from? No wonder the country is in such a hopeless situation.
The answer to your first question is complacency. Initially March and April 2020 Thailand was lucky and the low infections and deaths drove this complacency.. Thus, where was the need and urgency to mass purchase what was not needed? The rest of the world did the sensible thing and now Thailand finds its self up the proverbial without the paddle. Why is anyone surprised by this, in a land where no one fails??

Thats a positive spin.
I think maybe 20 people out of 800 that currently work in our town.
All teachers, sitting around laughing and drinking.
Everything but teaching.
Probably the best thing they can do considering the professionalism of their teaching.

The answer is honesty and clarity and a plan to get the best vaccines for the people and quickly, and none of these have been a factor in the BS coming from the mouths of the toy soldiers.
Should that read LEAD toy soldiers?

Does this character know there are more than 10,000 people in Thailand?
He started counting 7 years ago and 70% of nothing is still a big fat 0.

That is indeed good news if it is to be believed. As a 73 year old with 3 of the 7 underlying conditions I should be near th top of the list ????
I was thinking of trying the 'Me First' thingy like the Thai drivers, but that tends to lead to fatalities. So, I've decided on an orderly queue system, provided I'm up front.????

Registered on 2nd but no reply, not that I expected one.
However, a family member is a medic in BKK and offered me an AZ, but as I am in Khon Kaen I declined. Reason being, I am 80 and I feel safer where I am.

Im going to see if its Pfizer or not, not Pfizer then I will avoid it and pay privately later when its available. Registration is easy enough apart from the non alphabetical list of countries when it comes to UK and Merica etc and inability to load files separately...........guess they got their best web designer onto building the site.
Entering ones date DoB could have been easier, instead of having to click back through the years, it almost numbed my finger.

Common sense you say? When did common sense ever apply in this country?

Thailand that boasts it's the hub of everything, but when in the mire it's a poor developing country....
What is it that Thailand is developing? In thirty plus years the only developments I have seen are more monster hotels and condo's, plus some shopping malls. As to the majority of the people, they are as poor as they have ever been.

Commons Select Committee
The Petitions Committee considers e-petitions submitted on Parliament’s petitions website and public (paper) petitions presented to the House of Commons, engaging the public directly with the work of the House.
So I was incorrect with the select committee. My apologise for that.

Thai police clash with protesters near PM's residence
in Bangkok News

Many protests around the world start off peacefully. Its mostly the police who stir up the trouble with aggressive actions to illicit an aggressive response. As you say, 'mindless violence by thugs in uniform'.
