Is there any Thai who doesn't think all foreigners are rich?

Same as retirement just more expensive- they pay under the table for people who do not have the funds in the bank
800K sat in a bank doesn't give much of a chance to use that money for more profitable purposes, either here or elsewhere.
If someone chooses to make use of and pay for a service, I don't see a problem. If its a case of ethics, who's conscience does that sit on?

Writing a review, good or bad on a booking site in my personal experience, is not the right thing to do. I have made a few complaints and given compliments in my time and prefer to make them in person at the highest possible level at the time. Compliments are usually met with gratitude. Complaints well, they are received varyingly from profuse apologies to down right objection.
The main thing either way is to be positive and polite.
I have had some refunds, and upgrades by taking the person to one side out of earshot and put over the case with truthful facts, and pointing out you are not wanting to cause a scene.
If one has to write, again put over the facts and in both cases make no threats. Always put the ball in their court and you will mostly come out on top. Threats should be a very last resort.
Just my five pence worth.

I have a box of old medals in the bottom draw of my desk. He can come and take his pick at his own convenience, to add to the useless ones he already has.

You mean a bit like pass the parcel, but this is pass the buck.

Thai Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.
How does the Thai Government Mitigate these Disasters, they make no attempt to Prevent?

Race and racism aside, a thorough reading of the op might raise questions regarding his qualifications, especially given that he's a native English speaker.
With respect, he is not a native English speaker. He is an American by his own admittance. From a personal point of view, reading his post, I get the impression there is a chip on his shoulder. I hope I am wrong, but just how I read it.

My local restaurant and bar has never been closed since it opened 14 years ago. What has been the problem?

Restrictions are to flatten the curve. People will be off work for sure but not for long and then they have gained immunity. With the very rapid increase in infections it could be all over soon. A bit of short term pain with little health impact to society. As it is people get colds and spread it in the work place and some will get more severe cold symptoms and have to take time off of work. This is just happening all at once. There definitely seems to be light at the end of the tunnel.
As long as the light is not someone coming the other way with a flash light, we should be ok?

A common cold is a common cold…omicron is omicron….
if your purpose is to say it is a milder form of Covid with symptoms similar to a cold for a younger healthier person then say so…
the ability to articulate is important…
Does articulate mean you are double jointed?

Just a suggestion, but would it be worth talking to an agent?
They are usually ex IO's and know the ropes.
The problem with a marriage visa, is that the interviewing IO does not have the last word.

Of course Prayut is the most popular politician.
Everyone enjoys ridiculing him, morning noon and night.

I quite like Lazada and have had very little problems over the past few years. What annoys me more is the lack of communication with Lazada other than with the seller via the web chat. Customer service is really lacking in this respect.

Something the Thai politicians should be thoroughly ashamed of, but they never will be. Far too self centred to even consider anyone else but themselves.
The 'me first' attitude prevails in all circumstances, thus it has been and always will be. Selfishness is not something these people understand, but they practice it 365/24/7

I have heard that some banks will not allow accounts to function if the owner has no UK address - might be another good reason to keep a place in the UK .
No need for a physical UK address, a postal address is easily acquired and some are free.

Are you looking for a 'CASH' card? This is a kind of card you add cash to and use as a general debit card, to pay for goods and services in almost any country in the world.
There a many of these type of cards available from the US, UK and EU. Some are easier than others to acquire. For instance, I have a 'Revolut' cash card registered to my granddaughter's address. I can add funds from my UK bank and use it as a debit card and for transferring sterling to my Thai bank. I have also made purchases in the US, Germany and Australia with this card using the local currency. I don't like PayPal, but that is a personal choice, but there is no reason why it cannot be used through PayPal.
Search the internet for cash cards an find what is available.

There are lots of good things about living here. But for me, nonsensical laws that are arbitrarily enforced by corrupt officialdom is not one of them. Each to his own though, whatever floats your boat.
I need plenty of water to float my boat. ????

it was originally put in place and ordered for businesses within school zones and then it was placed on all shops and stores.
The afternoon ban has been in place for more than 30 years to my knowledge. And that was at a time when it was not compulsory for kids to attend school.

Personally I think the arrival of telephones was not really a problem. I.e. when I was the first time on a holiday in Thailand I didn't call anybody - that was way too expensive. A postcard, which often arrived after the return, was enough. And nobody panicked because they didn't have any news from you for a couple of month.
If that is your first recollection of a telephone, you are not as old as I assumed. Try one of these little beauties, which were in mass use when I was knee high to a grasshopper.
