  1. All samples should be tested in a EU or US lab.

There are EU , UN and US labs here in Thailand. Before they can test anything they must be requested by the government. The US lab is used to test all products utilized by the US Military. Some samples, like water, must be inspected by the military lab in Okinawa. Again these labs will not do anything unless requested. coffee1.gif

  2. I do not understand how the rice could not have chemical contamination, when Methyl Bromide is used in the process. Government have found rice in the market with Methyl Bromide over and above allowable limits.. OH! now I understand, do like other Asian countries, when contamination is found that are over specification, change the specification. Now everything passes. coffee1.gif

  3. Of those polled, 41.7 per cent named Prime Minister and Defence Minister Yingluck Shinawatra as a role-model politicians when it came to virtues and morality.

I guess this 41.7 percent don't know about her seized assets or the pergury she committed under oath....or don't care.

Does this indicate that 58.3% thought she was not a role-model for virtue and morality? coffee1.gif

  4. The operation was authorized by Former PM Abhisit Vejjajeeva and Former Vice PM Suthep Thaugsuban. Both individuals are facing charges of murders and attempted murders for their roles in the crackdown.

So if you use the same logic, if Abhisit and Suthep are guilty, than Thaksin is guilty for the murder and attempted murder of 2400 people during the drug crackdown, he authorized. If you want one, then you must accept the other. coffee1.gif

If you do not want to accept the guilt of Thaksin for the drug crackdown, and still punish Abhisit and Suthep, you do not have a democracy, you have a dictatorship.

  5. One of the passages in Mao's little Red book, goes something like this " time means nothing, if you keep the pressure up you will win". This go with all civil actions, the American Revolution against the British monarchy. Finally it got to expensive for the to maintain a war in the new colonies and Europe, so give those terrorist what they want. As soon as you give a little, they will apply more pressure. Something like a python. The insurgents in the south and the UDD are using this tactic, apply pressure until it hurts and they get a little, than apply more pressure.

One portion of the UDD wants a country controlled by the people, the other portion wants to set up a dictatorship controlled by one man. ph34r.pngph34r.png

  6. If an independent lab can find traces in 3/4 of samples tested, then I can only assume that the Agriculture Department, the Medical Sciences Department and the Food and Drug Administration (who said they found no contamination) were lying on government orders. Of course, that would be a white lie to prevent public loss of confidence.

Could it be that the government test labs have not had their equipment calibrated, in accordance with international standards, ISO 14000. Could it be that these government test labs need rectification to ensure they meet international standards. The Ministry of Industry has the Thailand Internal Standards Institute, ( TISI ), which maintains the standards for Thailand. In many cases it is recommended to verify the test results be using an external certified testing lab. coffee1.gif

  7. she hurled abuse at many officers before she threw an omelette and rice dish at the car of Police Lieutenant General Khamronnawit Thupkrachang.

    Way to go girl...clap2.gif

blocking a Road causing a huge traffic jam during a “red shirts” rally

Well at least she can claim her actions were politically motived so she should get off scott free...thumbsup.gif

Is this another case of BIB, not allowing a judge perform their job, and support the PT storm troopers instead?

  8. PM Yingluck, you are the person in charge, you will be the one held responsible. Your administrators said that all the warehouses were inspected and inventoried, so why not ask your administrators. You can hold them accountable for their actions, but you are responsible. President Harry Truman said. "The buck stops with me." The ball is in your court, play the ball or get off the field. You must be able to rise above, and show the citizens of Thailand that you are their PM, hot the PM of special interest groups and individuals. wai.gif

  9. What happened to the rice that was in the warehouses during the flood? Has it been written off? Is it still in the inventory? Is it molded, rotting and smelly? What is the value of this rice at time of purchase, befor after the flood?

Where is the transparency promised during the election?

Or is it that everyone in the know is afraid to tell the truth for fear of prosecution? Is it a case of shoot the messenger?

Could I find out the information on Wickieleaks? wai2.gifmad.gif1zgarz5.gif

  10. and found no toxins or chemicals

but then goes on to say ...

a small amount of methyl bromide and phosphine used in the production process was detected in the samples

    and also ...

a small amount of animal fur, insect parts and live weevils were found in a very small part of the samples

so that's alright then, and absolutely clear, the poo-yais are in-charge and on-top-of-things and have spoken. tongue.png

This must be some new definition of the words "no toxins or chemicals", which I'd previously not been aware of ? whistling.gif

    Define HAZARDOUS. coffee1.gif

  11. In Chicago, if the hit man fails to complete the contract the first time, he does not get a second chance. In Tokyo he would lose a finger. In Thailand he goes to Cambodia. Many years ago my Thai boss hired a body guard from the police, we told him it was the police that carried out assassinations. He hired some one from a Thai Chinese family, he was OK. ph34r.png

A previous Democrat PM had two assassination attempts against him, he had police protection. He got rid of the police protection and the Army stepped in.

  12. Thai was supposed to be introducing the A380 for the Bangkok-London route in December.

They've just announced that there's going to be a delay of at least 11 months in launching the service.

Once again, Thai is way behind the curve in terms of international service, and customers will be expected to pay an over-the-top price to fly in outdated, crappy Boeing 747s.

Once again, Thailand and its visitors have been let down by the country's national airline.

    Nice THAI bash.

Boeing is delaying delivery to THAI due to some rework on the last 2 of the 6 planes THAI has ordered. Those last 2 planes were destined for the London and Sydney routes. Nothing THAI can do about that apart from secure alternative aircraft on short-term leases. THAI may even reinstate the A340-600 on the second (overnight) Heathrow slot.

The A380 is not made by Boeing. it is made by Airbus in France. The 787 is made by Boeing. Is the problem with Airbus or with Thai International? coffee1.gif

  13. BANGKOK: -- To deal with the impact of climate change and global warming, Thailand has set up a sustainable development committee to oversee the country's progress and strategy based on green growth. In the eyes of environmentalists, the next step is to see how the government will balance this economic growth, competitiveness and green development.

How many billions of Baht will be needed to line the pockets of corrupt politicians. post-4641-1156693976.gif

  14. The Thai authorities have stepped up security measures during the period.

This will be interesting. During the month of Ramadan people fast during the day, from sun up to sun down. In the evening they eat and visit friends and relatives. If the security measure allow the peaceful observance of the holy month, no problem. If these measures do not let the people to follow their religious beliefs, then hit-the-fan.gif . Respect the people and they will respect you.
