I have been hearing this since I came to Thailand in 1966. All talk no action. SSDD!

Chalerm, is quiet correct in saying the clean up rate is due to poor police work, however lets not stop in the South, this could be said for all of Thailand, most are not the smartest card in the pack and for this you do not blame on the police officers , you blame the education system and how convenient for Chalerm, he has a foot in both institutions, this sub- standard education will not only implicate the police force, but almost all other areas of Thai society, unless you address this anomaly you basically are ,in this day of advanced tech knowledge, raising a nation of dumb dumbs ,compared to western education, ( reference only), this short fall can also be addressed , like Indonesia did , by learning and being taught by other western ,
countries police forces, namely the AFP.
At one time the education requirements for a police officer was P6, elementary school.

Hmmm so you send your clone PM/Salesperson around the world selling Thai debt bonds for foreign currency. Then force the Baht to devalue by say 25% and you have made a pretty penny. High Baht low rice prices the losses just keep coming, the cabinet, CC and BOT are out of control.
" but his warnings were not heeded and the financial crisis of 1997 ensued."
Cry me a river.............
Thaksin crying.jpg FIGJAM
luckily he doesn't need the luxury of hindsight because he's always right.
In 1997 and 98 there were rummer's that some politicians had prior warning on the flotation of the Baht and moved billions of dollars off shore, Than when the Baht went from 25 to 50 to the dollar, they brought the money back. Take out 1 Billion dollars and bring back 1 billion dollars, now you have 50 billion Baht, good thinking.

It is not unusual for the children of wealthy family to have an arranged married. Look at the history of Europe. I just wish the couple happiness.
-
It is not unusual for foreign prisoners to be sent to their country of origin to complete the term of imprisonment. It is now up to Israel to decide what they want to do.
-
What about the execution of 2500 innocent Thai citizens, by the police. It has been stated that the police were ordered by the PM to eliminate drugs. As of now only one death has gone to court and the police were convicted, but released on bail.
-
This has to be the easiest case the police have ever had.
Just ask Chalerm who did it.
Chalerm has already told the international press that the killing was carried out by the police.

I've seen worse looking air hostesses on airlines in America!
I flew Syrian Air from Dhahran, Saudi Arabia to Damascus Syria, one of the stewards looked like Dick Budkus, American football player. I think she was also the air marshal.

He said that the subcommittee would also discuss the Commerce Ministry's plans to pay back the Bt500 billion loan it borrowed from BAAC to run the pledging scheme. Most of those funds had now been spent on the scheme, he noted.
If the bank loaned this money for the rice pledging, and it was not used for this scheme, than is that corruption? What was most of the 500 billion Baht used for? If it looks like corruption, and it smells like corruption, it must be corruption. Why isn't the bank and financial investigator following up.
The government is not happy with Thailand being listed on the list of corrupt countries. It has been published that 30 - 50% of the budget for government contracts winds up in the pockets of politicians.
-
The only reason we are seeing more of the accused police corruption, is because of U Tube, Facebook, Skype and the internet. Before it was the accused police denial of a problem , now it is recorded and within minutes thousands of people know about it.

Yes and they are well paid. They best paid unit in the police department.

This whole problem started with the Imperialist French colonials. Siam gave up a large portion of the country, in treaty agreements with the French. Before the French all of what is today's Laos and Cambodia was portions of Vietnam and Siam. The French broke every treaty they made.

He can fly to KL (Malaysia) using his US passport and enter Malaysia with US passport. Leave Malaysia using US passport and enter Thailand with his Thai passport. My son did this without a problem.
My concern is that Immigration officials at the airport in Bangkok will ask why he doesn't have a re-entry visa in his US passport since he has a roundtrip ticket. If they do, he will need to admit that he's returning on his Thai passport. Dual citizenship in Thailand is illegal after age 20. Do officials routinely ignore this contradiction?
If he comes in on a Thai passport, HE DOES NOT NEED TO SHOW HIS US PASSPORT.

Where is CNN and BBC? They are supporters of the PTP and the red shirts.

The taxi drivers supported the PTP in the last election. Since than the inflation rate has increased, but the meter fare is still 35 baht. Is this the war the government takes care of their supporters. This is another example that politicians can not be trusted. It makes no difference which party or which country. If a politicians lips move they are lying. The recent election in the USA is a good example, promise jobs, and expansion in roads and bridges, nothing done. Politicians never take responsibility for their actions, when it fails blame Bush.

when you call yourself a Democracy , you must accept all criticisms otherwise it can slowly goes to dictatorship
It is a Democracy, as described by George Orwell. Big Brother is watching, and we have a place for you.
-
Let me get this right - the government is objecting to the Constitution Court considering petitions relating to the proposed changes to the Constitution.... and therefore want them sacked...for doing what they are supposed to do...protect the Constitution...because it MIGHT BE in opposition to what the PTP wants to push through.
Good summary. Options are i) remove the politicians/MP's who defy the court ii) dissolution of government - no confidence motion, iii) coup OR iv) civil war.
If the court were to issue directives for i) or ii) police for the first and second - if ignored - the army, iii) and iv) would take place as a matter of course. PTP is heading the country to a stalemate and there can only be one solution then - coup #19.
This coup is in process now. Not by the military but by the PTP. If they can declare the judiciary null and void, than with the control of the executive and Parliament they control everything.. Than all past, present and future charges for Big Brother can me eliminated and than we would have a dictatorship, with the red shirts as the enforcers.

The court can make any ruling it wants, but the ruling party and big brother do not care. The PT have already said that they are above the court and will not accept any judgement, that is not in there favor.

I first cane to Thailand in 1966. This problem was being talked about than. The government determined that a root cause of the problem was the increased usage of underground water. The government is like all other governments, ALL TALK NO ACTION or in plain language " SAME S--T DIFFERENT DAY" ( SSDD ).

He will not make any more bombs. The three others should be sent to Thai Gitmo, for questioning.

If anyone thinks this government would even consider taking advice from local academics, they are ignoring the Thai system of self entitlement.
Every single program proposed/implemented by this group have been questioned as to those handling it, as well as the overall benifit for the population vs cost. Its is still full speed ahead, with a mindset of, "its mine to do/take" and it shall be done, one way or another.
The vast amounts involved that are unaccounted for, will never be used for any purpose, other than self benifet by a few, while denying so many of what is due them.
It all depends,
if the academics agree with the government,
than spit up the money and give the academics some also,
else the academical are wrong.

Even negotiating with terrorists organisations is sheer stupidity. Meanwhile the Police Minister and Army sit in BKK whilst attacks are almost a daily occurrence. You would think looking at the stats on the 'incidents' the army should roll out in full, move south and start culling every household in a pincer movement to round up these animals. No point asking the police. No point asking the govt - it would interrupt the PM's busy shopping or overseas travel schedules selling Thailand as a safe haven for investment.
Malaysia had a unit in the 60's, code name VAT 69. This unit was trained by the British SAS and SBS. They got the job done. Many of the terrorist fled Malaysia and went to southern Thailand.

The graduates are good, until the money hungry hospital administrators get involved. Last week I my son to Ake Pathum Hospital klong 2 on highway 305, at 2300 hours. The ER staff was very good and professional, and the administrators were very good also.
I have been to a hospital on soi 3 Sukhumvit, which are money hungry. They are running a hospital for the rich middle east tourist.

Would appear that China is not too tolerant of the LBGT culture.
Still, this is an odd story. If he performed his duties during the day,
and has a photo taken with some lady boys at night, not really sure
that is a firing offense...
Could it be the use of public funds for personal enjoyment is a crime in China. It is not in Thailand?
