  1. I believe he was talking about the language used in translation. M5 is indeed the 5th year of secondary school. That is how it is referred to in British English, as apposed to US English using Grade 11. However, your post is interesting. When I was a student in UK we only had 4 years at high-school. "Year 11" on your link would have been first year of college and A levels.
  2. Another prediction, and only from one person who is " extremely confident" without actually backing up her confidence I was extremely confident Man City would win the Community Sheild. I wonder if she was too...
  3. Not failing. You are wrong. As with most things, you fail to look at the bigger picture. There is a backlog, I agree, but applications are being processed. It's not a case of "oh look. He looks OK. Rubber stamp". It's a long process. Add to that the major rise in arrivals and applications, there are always going to be delays.
  4. Interesting. Care to elaborate why the article says there is accommodation for upto 500 men? It can't be that bad if the women and children can hack it. In cases of emergency it's women and children first.
  5. I agree. Never look a gift horse in the mouth. If they don't like what they are being offered they should go somewhere else. Offer them a free one way trip to anywhere. Then see what they do.
  6. 14 years of protests, legal proceedings and opposition. Finally a result. It's a shame the opposition couldn't see the benefits before. Would have saved alot ofvtime and money.
  7. Within the brackets it says "ม5". That's grade 5 of high school. Grade 11 equivalent, 16/17 year olds.
  8. ม5 is M5. Matayom 5. 2nd to last year of high school.
  9. Of course it does. I'm sure the scientists that did the tests know that too.
  10. What the article doesn't say is that testing was done over many days with " excellent" results. It also doesn't say that the adverse test was taken in a different area to that where the events took place. It also doesn't say the cause of illness to swimmers is still under investigation. https://www.sunderlandecho.com/news/investigation-launched-after-athletes-fall-ill-following-triathlon-championships-in-sunderland-4243333
  11. If you read his post, he said " if it's true I'll help". He also didn't mention it being a loan. Seems to be a nice friendly person who wants to help someone out. If it turns out to be a lie, he's made it quite clear he will walk away.
  12. No. That is not the definition of a scam. A scam is when someone knowingly sets out to relieve you of your money by lying. You are involved in an error. A big, long term error but, an error none the less. When did you inform them you were moving permanently to Thailand? You did inform them, didn't you? Then you checked? Then you checked your tax payments?
  13. Not a scam. An error. When did you tell them you moved to Thailand?
  14. No. You can quote as much scientific blurb as you like. I posted facts to prove there is affordable housing in many places in UK. Much cheaper than averages posted.
  15. Like I said, I doubt most people would have linked it to surgery, that was until those who did started to protest. Kids certainly would not have noticed.
  16. Had you noticed it and what it stands for before you read the article? That's my point. Most people will simply not notice it on the wall of a coffee shop. They're too busy playing with their smartphone. I've just looked at the image again. I would not have linked it to surgery or anything mentioned in the article. Not that I frequent Costa anyway.
  17. I avoid big brand coffee shops. In most town there is a plethora of privately owned coffee shops. Locally run. At the same time there are those that are closinging down. Get into your local coffee shop and support them. Use it or lose it.
  18. Most people would not have found it graphic, most wouldn't even have noticed. Only because someone with such thin skin decided to post it on social media do people now notice it. Why can't people just stop complaining at the slightest thing?
  19. You've summed it up very well. The words "BBC and "Bias" together in your replies hits the nail on the head.
  20. Just had a quick check using a few home towns of family and friends. Great Yarmouth, Kings Lynn, Milton Keynes, Sheffield, Retford and Shrewsbury. All have properties for rent, with at least one bedroom, at under £600pcm.
  21. And yet on other threads I'm told a survey of 1000 people can prove a point. Can't have it both ways. I posted about SW England and Blackpool as one is where I live and the other was in response to untrue claims by another poster. There are plenty of other places where there are properties well under the UK average. Not to mention the report today of the largest drop in property prices for many years.
  22. As explained previously, a comment you agreed with, average figures do not paint the correct picture. By using real prices, prices of properties currently on the market, the figures paint a more accurate picture. I initially use Rightmove, sometimes Zoopla, then I also search the websites of agents advertising those two sites. It really isn't difficult.
  23. No. If you look at my posts, I was using information from research. I've also provided links. Do try to keep up.
