Flu Cases Soar Over 130,000 in Just Two Months, DDC Warns
Jaggg88 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I'm just getting over type A Flu. At first, I thought I had a chest infection because the Covid and Flu tests were negative but antibiotics did not make me better. A second Covid and flu test was also negative but while I was having a nebulizer treatment the doctor told me I had flu and pointed to a very faint line next to type A. Antibiotics were binned in favour of Tamiflu and cough suppressants and I was feeling better within 24 hours. -
How to send an Alzheimer's patient back to the U.K.? - From Bangkok
Jaggg88 replied to Furioso's topic in Health and Medicine
This is not correct. You can book an accompanied flight for elderly or disabled people. Airline staff will look after him from check-in to arrival. They look after everything but he will need a fit-to-fly certificate -

As Cheryl suggested I go to an independent lab and pay. It's not expensive unless you want the more unusual tests. The results are same-day. The result sheet also supplies the healthy range for each test.

I was told I was pre-type 2 diabetes so I bought a constant glucose monitor and wore it for 2 weeks. It tested my blood sugar every 3 minutes and sent the report to the app on my phone. I'm not pre-type 2 but it let me see which foods raise my blood sugar which I now avoid. I recommend you all get one. It was about 1500 baht

Non O change single to multi entry.
Jaggg88 replied to supermac's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Your 90-day reporting is cancelled when you leave and resets the day you re-enter with your permit. The re-entry permit is 1000 baht so it is not worth buying a multi-re-entry permit unless you are going to leave 4 times or more. -
TIN number and how do I apply for one.
Jaggg88 replied to mickmac's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
If the money is already taxed in a country with a double taxation agreement then there is no liability so there is no need for a TIN or tax return. Extract from the Thailand Dept of Revenue website: C. Elimination of double taxation The focus of a DTA is the elimination of double taxation. Each DTA may prescribe different methods of elimination of double taxation of a person by the resident country: (1) Exemption method The country of residence does not tax the income which according to the DTA is taxed in the source country. However, if you are a tax resident and bring untaxed money onshore, earn money in Thailand, or have investments in Thailand, you are obliged to obtain a TIN and file a tax return. Any tax you have paid under a DTA can be used as a credit towards your liability here in Thailand. -

Guidance please on Non O application from UK
Jaggg88 replied to Wyabcp's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
For the annual extension, my office (Nakhon Sawan) asks for my embassy/MFA certified translation of my UK marriage certificate. I had our marriage certificate legalised, translated, and then approved by the UK Embassy, so it wasn't a problem for me. We also have kor sor 22 which they were quite happy with 4 years ago but for the last 3 years they wanted a copy of the UK translated certificate as well. I had to return to the UK at short notice last year and couldn't renew my extension and had to obtain a new non O. I just used the kor sor 22 but your extension may be a different matter. -

Yellow House Book and Pink Card
Jaggg88 replied to Hocus Pocus's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
There is an old thread on here about obtaining a yellow book with a post from a man and his Thai girlfriend going to get his yellow book. They told him he had to be married but his GF rang the ombudsman in Bangkok and they said he did not need to be married. The ombudsman rang his local office and he was duly issued a yellow book. The number to call was in his post. I went to inquire what was needed to get a yellow book and I was told I needed to be married but I didn't bother arguing as I am married.
