Just doesn't seem to go away.. just started an antihistamine - - must be a nasal drip -- maybe a good thick cough medicine will help? I also have developed a low grade fever the last couple of days... my wife is going to make some chicken soup... any ideas?

Yes, agreed - Prices are going higher and it must be tough to maintain a reasonable price with the same quality as before. And this from the "let's make a restaurant club" guy... I have always been wary here ordering an expensive cut of meat afraid I would be disappointed. I was really in the mood for lamb one day and ordered a 500 baht plate that I could not cut or chew... and the portions were small...

In the next world you go to, maybe everyplace else will be more similar - Mars and the moon don't seem to have much diversity.

I was first here in the early 70s and it was mostly young backpackers out and around and not that many. They were here to visit/explore another and very different culture. Some were a bit scruffy in a poor hippie style but they were smart and respectful guests... It seems word has gotten out in the Arizona Swap Meets that you can live here very much on the cheap and that is often what is attracted. I see the scruffy ones out and about - even bragging how cheap they live while stealing my sandals outside a store... I don't think they can afford to live at home and coming here is an answer to homelessness and probably a good one for them too.

I have an accountant who could easily take care of their questions and have a Vice President at the bank who could also easily verify... both easily contacted via email... I've never worried taxes - the more I need to pay, it means that I made more.

And how would that be a problem? Everything I have and my tax returns are easily available....

Beyond the usual cats and dogs - what are your favorite animals to keep? We have dogs and Tilapia - what are the pros and cons of other of your favorite animals? Goats? Pigs? Rabbits? Birds? I would like a parrot but I think they get too attached to their owners/partners and would be too stressful to keep..

Huh? When I mentioned savings I was implying that it was savings from prior years. Not yesterdays paycheck. My savings goes back decades and I am assuming from what I have read, that would not be taxable even if brought into the country. If you know differently, please let me know.

I thought the tax was on profits from the current year. This cannot be calculated during the current year. The money that I have brought over is long time savings that was earned many years ago and as I understand it, is not subject to tax.
