Oh my goodness. Boo Hoo.
It is what it is. If I was married to a Filipinos gal I'd be a permanent resident of The PI by now and maybe even a citizen.
TIT - This Is Thailand. Sucks as it may.
If I had it to do over again? I would not have stopped here and married a Thai national.
But? Here I am. So, "illud est quod est" It is what it is.
So, OK - how did he die?
All I see is Thai nationalistic hand-wringing. If he died of natural causes? Then there is no problem.
If he was murdered? Well, then there is.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out.
I'm sorry. I've been married to a Thai woman for 15 years and I'm still "a foreign man temporarily visiting my Thai wife."
I have - no - feeling for this at all.
If Thailand wants to recognized same-sex marriages - ok. I've no problem with that. Then marry your partner and live like the rest of us Foreign Men married to Thai Women.
But - even better. If they allow same sex marriages? Claim you're female!
Ahhhhh. Then you get fast-tracked to Thai citizenship!
I feel nothing for this guy's situation given my own and other foreign men like me.
15, 20, 25 years of marriage to a Thai woman and you're - "A visitor."
The Mayor of Kingstown.
I just stumbled across it out of boredom. I was reading a news article about Renner's accident and it mentioned the show. I'm now on the first season, second episode. Man...gritty and intense.
It's difficult to find novel TV shows that aren't the same old, same old stuff or a reboot. Nothing much original any more which is why I seldom watch TV.
This is an interesting twist. Some critics panned it, but what to critics know. Good stuff! Now onward with Season 1.

The Highway Patrol in Western countries is used to stop and ticket drivers committing moving violations, therefore helping limit that number of dangerous drivers on the road.
The Highway Patrol in Thailand is used to escort elites, therefore helping Thailand have The Most Dangerous Roads In The World.
I found that list today. I need to write up the list for my wife and get keep a copy of my current Will and the list of items that the US Embassy will need and keep them in where my wife can find them at home.
That info helped. Thanks!
Panu Clinic, 14 Thapea Soi 5. Used to be open in the evening. I haven't been there in a few years so not sure if the clinic is still open. The last time I walked by the signs were still there though.
I think that an excellent suggestion. You won't know until you know, so best to rent and try them out before buying.
Honestly, I used a Honda Dream when living in Chiang Mai. Small enough to easily cut through traffic, powerful and geared well enough to climb Doi Suthep and mountains in general. The don't make them anymore though. Still got mine. 14 years old and still looks almost new. Well made bike.
I was in Chiang Mai today for chores. Chang Moi, Thapae, and Loi Kroh as well as the Nimmanahaemin area which was just packed with Chinese and farang. Wororot Market was impossible. It was busier than I've seen since 2019. I'm glad for the business, but.....
I was happy to get out of town and head back to the sticks in Lamphun.
Try a private Thai psychiatrist in a private clinic. You'll pay a doctor's fee and should be able to get the amount you need. Forgot about the large hospitals.
If you live in Chiang Mai (or visit) there are other options.
I won't lecture you on benzos. Just keep this in your back pocket for a rainy day. https://www.benzoinfo.com/ashtonmanual/
I could use suggestions on creating a list of things that need to be done by my wife if I die before her. Fyi, I'm a US citizen.
Who does she need to contact, what forms will she need to obtain, how does she execute my Will, etc.
