  1. Up to you as said here. ???????? All the gender stuff really only got into view when coming to Thailand none of it was in my face in UK as much. As a typical maverick type of person now at 75 health wise I have to know my limitations and be careful not to do things I could when I was 55. Nearly all of my friends are younger than me.
  2. I don't get increases on nowt ???? retired in Thailand 7 years before pensions age I knew my pensions would be frozen and planned on estimated amounts at the time of receiving them. Ended up more than I estimated and enough to be comfortable on. My wife was eligible for a UK pension which got taken away with all other benefits eventually so addressed that to give her an income when I drop.
  3. What nonsense I still just monitoring the war situation I'm not pro Putin. What happens here if you have opinion on the wider picture of the war in Ukraine you are vilified by the hi-jackers of Chris.B thread.
  4. I only have been using a shooting in a CM army place. Depends what ya call cheap.
  5. A good question and frankly I have no idea all I know is everytime I get paid the amount I get is always better than any other bank rate that said that is on the day. Thing is IPC tell you if asked that your pension is paid in and will (not may) take up to 9 days to clear. When I first started getting my UK pension paid directly into my Thai Bangkok bank there were threads about at the time and remember it was said that because Bangkok bank has a bank in UK and DWP (IPC) use Citibank UK there is no extra transfer charges made when paid into a Bangkok bank in Thailand. Recently from time to time the pound has not had great highs and lows so when I did a one time check on all of the 9 days it takes for the pension to be paid into my Thai bank every day the amount again was better than any Thai bank rate of the day on calculation. The amounts were not worth bothering about anyway in my book. ????
  6. Contact your debit card supplier and try to contact Mr prakan. Last year a good while back tried to get my bike insured with them and got no response.
  7. As I said to be fair to some private hospitals we have one I go to sometimes basically the difference between the 2 is waiting time and costs. To be honest I don't look forward to my govt hospital appointment even though it's every 4 months it more or less takes the good part of a whole day. ????
  8. Yeah to be fair to some private hospitals some of the ones in Sukhothai and particularly one I had a bad experience with and being sent from that private hospital to our govt hospital finally decided where I would go in any possible future event.
  9. Boris was outed for all the goings on partygate etc which Sunak and Truss was more mixed up in than Penny so surely it would make sense to for her to be PM and she picked Sunak as financial minister whatever it's called got that Tom geezer that everyone seems to like as deputy PM, I feel that would keep most Tory voters an swing voters the happiest.
  10. At the amount the £ to baht has moved over this present time it makes little different. Roundabouts and swings.
  11. I didn't realise you were concerned about health until now. To cut it short I had health care insurance and told by a doctor to go into hospital to get on top of my ashma problem which they did and my Mrs put in a claim for 12,000 baht, when I got to 72 at renewal they said they have had a change of policy at renewal and said I was too old to insure. I now use the govt hospital Ashma clinic every 4 months and my doc keeps checks on everything from time to time on my health. My doc is happy about my health at the moment for someone at my age. Costs 400 to 900 baht at intervals.
  12. I will only say 10 years ago my gov UK pension was a lot more than the basic pension at the time and have already said before I can still live comfortably on it. I do not wish to discuss all of my financial affairs on a forum. I also have already said that I planned my financial future and have excellent health care thankyou.
  13. I don't know of the CM place until posted today sounds good. What DLT wanted from us was to send 2 papers they give you for transfer and sale of a vehicle to the person in Australia. My buddy would have to sign them and send them back with a photocopy of his ID picture page of his passport signed and photocopy of the Thai stamped passport page showing the date he left Thailand.
  14. Pass bought s/h vehicles I usually have gone to DLT with the Mrs and do everything. The inspection centre near us now is good where we live too and will carry out other services like they provided for you. ????
  15. Thanks for trying to help but I'm really OK I don't care about money it's my health I take care of these days. I don't need to do what you do. I have been OK on my uk pension for 10 years now, I live comfortably on that alone that's not what saved for it's what I planned for. My private pensions are just a top up and left in UK. If they stop the pension like they will do if they don't receive a life form back in time I have to get money off my wife or go into my Thai savings for yearly extensions which I do like to do.
  16. UK pension pays my bills I have to pay in Thailand. By the next 4 weeks I wouldn't have enough to pay bills in Thailand for another 4 weeks. I would have to use my savings or the savings I have in UK. You'll be wanted to know how often I fart at this rate.
  17. When I looked into comparisends with rates on the estimated day I get my UK pension coming into Thailand they are always much the same as Wise on the day and it can go either way which is a very small amount anyway.
  18. That's how I remember it because you are still considered a UK resident. It's of no concern to the OP I was just answering another poster.
