China has a very large population and a lot of citizens that travel all over the world. Ok, I see why the Thai government would want to lure them to Thailand. Kazakstan? That one just boggles the mind as it's a small country of roughly 19-20 million. I do hope that this will be extended to most western nations.

Not surprised that Thaksin will be allowed to "recuperate" outside of the prison walls. His pardon will be coming very soon after a period of time under house or resort arrest.

I own a 37sqm condo in Jomtien that I bought in 2006. I've never lived in it but used it as a weekend place when I would drive down to Pattaya from Bangkok. Started using it less and less so I began renting it out. Other than during Covid, it's been rented out almost all the time. It's a nice unit on a high floor. A larger refrigerator and a two burner built in cooker makes for a nice kitchen. The air flow is nice from the balcony and a slatted screen door that leads out to a wide hallway. A lot of shops on the ground floor as well as a very big swimming pool. My longest tenant was three years. He left at the beginning of Covid. Personally, I couldn't live in something like that for more than a month. I like my larger space and enjoy living in a house.

I always dressed nice when having to go to a Thai government office. Immigration, Labour, etc. The Thais a quite conservative in that way. Just play the game and you will get better results.

I would go with one of the bigger agencies such as East Coast, Cornerstone, and Alan Bolton. Once you are interested in a particular development, I would check on what similar units that you like are being priced at. I would also think of going more mid-level. You'll be better off if you do.

Anyway you look at it, this teacher is in a world of legal trouble. Unless he can get a very good, and expensive lawyer, he might be spending a little more time in Thailand than he had planned.

If Thailand were to issue a 90 day visa on arrival to countries that already receive a 30 day visa on arrival, that would be a huge positive to those that want to spend 90 days in Thailand over the northern hemisphere winter. If you could then get a 30 day extension without leaving the country that would be even better for those that want to stay 120 days in Thailand before returning to their home country.

Thaksin will serve very little time in prison. One of the first things that the new PM Srettha Thavisin will do is to pardon Thaksin of all convictions. He might even state that being in exile for 17 years is "prison enough" since he couldn't be in Thailand.

It sounds more like a bicycle ride or tour and not a race.

There are all types of Thai women. Some are hot but most are not. Many are attractive though so that's nice. There are lots of Thai women that go overseas for graduate education. Universities in England, Australia, and the US will always have some Thai students enrolled in graduate programs. They are educated, come from families that have some $$, and most speak very good English. As long as you are under 40 you might have a chance with some of them.

I had my first shingles jab a couple of months ago. I'm scheduled for my 2nd shingles jab on Friday. I'm just hoping the immediate side effects won't be too bad.

Just need to mind your own business and not get easily offended in the bar areas of Thailand. If asked to leave a bar then leave. There are over 2,000 bars in Pattaya alone. Surely you can find another one that will suit you. If it is very late and the bars are closing then maybe you should go home to.

Arguing and then fighting over a Thai woman at 4:30am in that area of Pattaya? What a waste of time. Thai women in that area are like baht buses. There will be another one along in just a few minutes.
