  1. Never had a problem in the 37 years he has been traveling in and out of Thailand or the US. He used his US passport to enter the US as always and yes, he always carries both passports. Why do you think he would use a Thai passport to enter the US?
  2. Don't know. I'll tell ya when I get there. By the way, how often does this similar thread get posted? Twice a year, three times a year?
  3. Hopefully they will not be returned to their country of origin as the ruling government there does not respect any form of human rights and especially if you are a Rohingya.
  4. According to one of the articles, they were only earning about 1500 baht per clip and they could do about 1500 clips a day. Seems as if the girl could do much better as a FL in Pattaya and not have to share with the other people involved.
  5. My luk krueng son has been on holiday here in Thailand with farang friends of his from university. They did a couple of boat tours in the southern islands. He said that on his boat it was all farangs and a few other Asians but no Thais. He talked with the boat crew, in Thai, about all of the tourists they are getting. Their reply was that this group was a good group but sometimes he gets a lot of Russians and Israelis. Apparently neither group is liked too well by them as they are very rude.
  6. My luk krung son came to Thailand a couple of weeks ago. He has both Thai and US citizenship and current valid passports for both countries as well as his current Thai ID card. As he lives and works in the US, he just used his US passport for all instances when required to show a passport. Also used the US passport when making his airline reservations. He is only in Thailand for a month so no visa issues. Now if he were staying longer than 45 days then yes, he would have entered and exited Thailand on his Thai passport.
  7. Maybe even having eyes on the side of your head in addition to the eyes in the back of your head might help too!
  8. On Sunday there were a lot of Thais on My JAL flight from Tokyo to BKK. There were at least three Thai flight attendants as well.
  9. If foreign tourism is Thailand's only hope in 2023, then they are in for a rude awakening.
  10. Pretty much the first one was. The second one a little slower.
  11. I used to go to Koh Chang a lot back in the 90's. It was different then. I haven't been back since 2007 when I thought it was over run with hotels and resorts.
  12. Is it possible to buy an e-bike in your home country and then have it shipped to Thailand? It would probably be a better e-bike than what you could purchase locally. I have no idea what it would cost to ship as freight. There's also the issue of getting it out of customs. If it is brand new they might even add on a tax for that.
  13. Thailand with nuclear reactors? I see nothing but problems with this scenario.
  14. I ran the River Kwai half marathon once back in the 90's. Singha was one of the sponsors and in their finish bag that they gave you at the finish line was a can of cold beer. A lot of people don't drink so someone gave me their can and I knocked down two cans quite quickly. This was probably around 8 or 8:30 in the morning.
  15. I brought in a used road bike in 2018 in a soft sided bike case. No issues at all bringing it through the green channel.
  16. "Dr Philip Leong and a Mr Gerber from the university's justice faculty wanted to know how Thailand handles human trafficking and illegal fishing." I'm assuming that Thailand handles it very differently than they do in the US. Perhaps Pol Gen Surachate Hakpan can explain the use of brown paper envelopes.
  17. In my experience in the US, I knew several Thai couples that were in grad school either working on a PhD or a Master's degree that were living together. They were certainly not from lower or lower middle class status in Thailand. If anything, they were from the upper classes.
  18. If you like it in Cambodia then that's great! I'm not here to change your mind as everyone is different and like different places.
  19. I do the same thing. I like it if the bank has an ATM machine inside the building to hopefully discourage thieves from attaching a card skimmer to the ATM.
  20. It's a good event and from the youtube videos I saw it looks like a lot of people having a good time.
  21. Will they allow bars, pubs, restaurants, and other entertainment places to remain open for some of the matches that will be played well past 2:00am Thai time?
  22. One corrupt and unelected regime keeping tabs on another corrupt and unelected regime using non-cutting edge aircraft.
  23. I don't claim to be an expert, but the Beretta M9 series has undergone a few design changes since it's introduction in 1985. It typically has a magazine designed to carry 15 or 17 rounds. In 2021 the latest version, the M9A4, came with an 18 round magazine and some other upgrades. They do make some extended magazines (20, 30, 32, & 35 round) but these are not conducive to carrying the firearm.
  24. Yes, if you want to attract this type of tourist then make an easy visa that is good for six months that they can obtain in their home country prior to traveling to Thailand. A lot easier and less mess than having to waste a day or two going to immigration to purchase another short term extension to stay in the country.
