The Pattaya Sports Club used to have a group of people that bowled on a weekly basis. I believe that it was a bowling league. You can check their website to see if the group is still going.

It's a sad state of affairs when the USA can only come up with these two old geriatrics to lead one of the most powerful nations in the world.

Western Engineer Assaults Pattaya Bar Women In Row Over Bill
Hanuman2547 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Maybe that is how you met your Thai wife, and that's fine, but I met my Thai wife back in the 80's when she was a graduate student in my home country. I had never been to Thailand until after we married. -
Myanmar seeks permission to land aircraft in Tak

Not really. In the world view this is just a minor blip on the radar. -
Western Engineer Assaults Pattaya Bar Women In Row Over Bill
Hanuman2547 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
I always check the chit entering my bin cup after it is placed there. It does two things. It lets me keep a running total of my bill and lets the wait staff know I'm checking the bill every time a drink is served. -
Are Thai men getting tired of foreigners with thai women?
Hanuman2547 replied to Elkski's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Younger working expat farangs have been dating and marrying university educated middle class Thai women since the 80's and probably before. -
Thai passport for daughter
Hanuman2547 replied to lost_in_space's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Oops wrong office. I meant the passport division of the Dept. of Consular Affairs within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Thanks for the reminder! -
I watched it too. It was a good video. I wonder what the other doggie cafe is like?

Thai passport for daughter
Hanuman2547 replied to lost_in_space's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Every immigration office is different and gives different advice on these matters. I have had my kids renew their Thai passports and ID cards both in Thailand and abroad and always got contradicting information. Their Thai mother passed away when they were teenagers so I've been through this when they were under the age of 20. I did have their mother's paperwork such as a Thai death certificate and her last ID card as well as her old (and now expired) passport to help facilitate the various immigration officers. Good luck! -
House in wives / girlfriends name
Hanuman2547 replied to TigerCat's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
When my Thai wife passed away, our house in Bangkok and others elsewhere were then transferred to our oldest luk krung son who had just turned 20 and has Thai citizenship. It was fairly easy to do. -
Yes, I read it. It was a fairly good read about someone who had his supporters and detractors.

Picture of Israeli soldier holding Thai flag causes a stir
Hanuman2547 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Just some random, and randy, soldier thinking, "I wish I was over there with my new found teerak instead of slogging around Gaza". -
Plans for Thailand's first nuclear power plant
Hanuman2547 replied to george's topic in Thailand News
Until the Thais decide that they are no longer needed because, "we got this". It may be 2024 but some people in the government that oversee such projects are still stuck in the 1950's. -
Plans for Thailand's first nuclear power plant
Hanuman2547 replied to george's topic in Thailand News
This is not a good idea on so many fronts. These nuclear plants need a lot of maintenance, safety checks, and constant monitoring. Are the Thais willing to commit to this? I am not so sure. I feel that the next thing we will hear is "Thailand's first nuclear clean up" after a meltdown. -
Bangkok, as well as the rest of Thailand, was quite a different place back in the 80's when I first arrived and on into the 90's. I liked Trink's column, Postbag, Crutchly's column, and a few others. Today so much has changed and the city is very different.

Thailand should stop all aid to the Myanmar government as that regime continues to oppress commit criminal acts upon the citizens of that country.

Thai woman flies to Thailand from Taiwan to stab cheating husband
Hanuman2547 replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
That so many women thought that what she did to her husband and his gik was a good thing speaks volumes about Thai culture and values. -
You do sound very well versed in ordering parts for a Chevrolet and what is available and also in where to have them serviced and repaired. I guess you kind of need to be if you are driving around a Chevrolet and/or other US engineered cars. I'll just stick with Hondas and Toyotas. A much better line of automobiles.

Russian woman blames period for assault on pregnant Thai shopkeeper
Hanuman2547 replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
Fine her the 40,000 baht and have her visa revoked. Then she can immediately returned to Russia. A blacklisting of five years wouldn't be a bad idea either. -
I flew China Eastern out of LAX back around 2017. Worse flight and airline ever. Ok, the price was why I took a chance. It was $558rtn. Left LAX on time and arrived Shanghai. Short wait for the connection and then boarded. Flight was taking an hour. Ok, I go back to sleep. Wake up about five hours later..............and we are still on the ground in the plane. Finally after sitting on the plane for seven hours we leave after a slight "mechanical" issue was resolved. No food or water served that I know of during that time. Once the flight was airborne they give us some type of sack lunch. Very crappy it was. Arrive in Bangkok much later than expected. Go to baggage claim and wait for bags......and wait some more.....and wait some more. Finally, the belt stops and that's it. Have to go file forms for bags not delivered. I then get a taxi and take it to my house. The next day they contact me and tell me that the bags will be delivered. That afternoon a broken down looking truck arrives and has my bag. That's great, where's the other one? Oops, no have. Can't blame them as it looks like it got subcontracted out. Call China eastern and explain to them I'm still missing a bag. They tell me they will check and call me back. Two hours later they call. They tell me that the bag will be on the next flight. Bag shows up the next day. Everything was there, nothing missing. So yes, I won't ever be taking that airline again.

I wouldn't buy a Chevy. Stick with Hondas and Toyotas. There's a reason you see them all over the world.
