  1. Why would you do that, when the data shows that the US economy does much better under Democrats than under Republicans? Economic performance is stronger when Democrats hold the White House
  2. "Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on August 15 that Ukrainian forces had fully captured the Russian town of Sudzha in Kursk Oblast. Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi confirmed that Ukrainian troops have seized control of over 80 settlements, with 1,150 square kilometers of Russian territory now under their authority. A military administration is being established in Sudzha, and Ukraine plans to create a "security zone" to safeguard its border regions and disrupt Russian logistics." Zelensky Announces Complete Liberation of Sudzha, Kursk Oblast from Russian Control Establishing a Ukrainian military administration in Kursk - interesting. I wonder what that portends.
  3. Saw this on another forum. "Russian armed forces, progress indeed... 2022 - second best army in the world 2023 - second best army in Ukraine 2024 - second best army in Russia"
  4. As has been stated multiple times on this thread already - yes, it was a one time thing.
  5. If @henrik2000 is a national of any EU country, they are entitled to 60 day visa exempt entry. All 27 EU nations are on the list shown.
  6. So far, according to Russian sources the Ukrainians have taken 28 Russian settlements and a total of 12 civilians have been killed. Even if Russian sources are not overstating the casualties (which one would imagine they have every motive to do) that's less than one person killed for every two settlements taken. While every civilian casualty is one too many, that hardly sounds like "rampaging" to me. Putin told Ukraine controls 28 Russian settlements
  7. Do you have sources for any of those claims? Not only are these required by Forum rules, without such sources these are totally baseless statements anyway. Just as a reminder, the rules for the World News sub-forum state as follows. "Any alleged factual claims must be supported by a valid link to an approved credible source."
  8. The post didn't say Russia was, "threatening the west with it's war in Ukraine," it just said they were making threats [to the west]. And if you've blinked and missed those threats, you must have been blinking an awful lot. Here's just a smattering of them (and there's plenty more where these came from). https://www.theguardian.com/world/article/2024/may/06/russia-to-hold-battlefield-nuclear-drills-after-macron-and-cameron-comments Russia threatens UK military https://www.euractiv.com/section/politics/news/russian-embassy-in-stockholm-threatens-sweden-finland-over-nato-accession/ Russian Embassy in Stockholm threatens Sweden, Finland https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/jun/29/russia-condemns-nato-invitation-finland-sweden Putin issues fresh warning to Finland and Sweden https://news.err.ee/1609332807/russia-blames-and-threatens-baltics Russia blames and threatens Baltics https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cn44r9zjnpjo Putin warns Russia could provide weapons to strike West
  9. According to info on MG's website the "lifetime" warranty covers the specified components of the vehicle no matter how far it has been driven. It also applies to the vehicle's subsequent owners, not just the original owner (unlike many "lifetime" warranties). MG announces an extended lifetime warranty for High-Voltage Battery, Electric Drive Unit, and Power Electronic Bloc
  10. It seems as though Trump was in an emergency helicopter landing with a black politician - it just wasn't Willie Brown. The other Black politician who says he was with Trump in that near-fatal chopper crash
  11. Did you watch the video? As far as I can tell from what I see there, this was a petrol-engined BMW.
  12. His electric boats/shark story wasn't even the best (worst?) example of his inability to string consecutive coherent sentences together. Just look at this gobbledygook from a speech he gave in January. I'm not sure how anyone could read this and not recognise the clear signs of cognitive decline. Trump keeps losing his train of thought. Cognitive experts have theories about why
  13. Seems not all Russians are necessarily all that unhappy to see Ukrainian soldiers in their cities. This one appears quite sanguine about it all. A russian living in Kursk ( russia ), sums up today's events in the Kursk region https://x.com/intermarium24/status/1821322068971094393
  14. You don't need to. Although one potential applicant was told a minimum 3 month course was required, another person was told there was no minimum duration needed. But nowhere was it ever suggested that whatever course you're on for the soft power option, would have to last five years.
  15. It came from @Hanaguma saying (or at least implying) that she does not share in the Black American experience, partly because she is not a descendant of slaves. Given that her father is Afro-Jamaican however, there is every possibility that some of her ancestors on her father's side, were indeed slaves.
  16. She was also elected president of the Black Law Students Association at her Law School, UC Hastings College of the Law. 'Black and proud': Harris has never shied away from racial identity And as that article also points out:
  17. Are you actually, seriously suggesting that you personally get to determine how dark a person's skin has to be before they're allowed to be called black?
  18. Since the Ukrainians are not officially confirming or denying that they have F-16's yet, they're hardly likely to publicise any action they may (or may not) have been involved in.
  19. One of her parents is Indian, the other is Jamaican. That doesn't make her "mostly Indian" as far as I can tell.
  20. https://x.com/trajaykay/status/1817126004717928953 Even Russian Duma members are commenting on how badly they're doing on the naval front.
  21. Biden was only the presumptive nominee - and so is Harris. She already has enough delegates to carry the nomination, which is the same situation Biden was in.
  22. The "Chevron Deference" ruling for a start. As the Houston Chronicle puts it: Supreme Court's Thomas delivers for Texan Harlan Crow And you're wrong, no-one cares what colour his skin is, or his wife's - they care about the massive and undeclared (until he was found out) gifts that raise much more than simply the appearance of impropriety that all judges are supposed to avoid. Let alone Supreme Court justices.
  23. You've got that completely backwards. The dictionary definitions (and it's not just the Oxford Dictionary) are based on the legal definitions used in courts everywhere - including in New York. Because in New York as elsewhere, convicted means found guilty by a court proceeding. The Cornell Law School (New York) definition says the same thing: Conviction
  24. You seem to be ignoring the fact that after ProPublica revealed these "allegations," Thomas went back and amended his declarations to show gifts from Crow that he had previously omitted. So Thomas himself has confirmed that he received the gifts. As for others getting gifts, no other justice has received anywhere near the amount that Thomas has. Let America Vote
  25. That's absolutely incorrect. The definition of "to convict" is: "declare (someone) to be guilty of a criminal offence by the verdict of a jury or the decision of a judge in a court of law." (Oxford Dictionary) As a jury found him guilty of 34 felony counts, he is most indubitably a convicted felon.
