  1. WTF! Sure ICU is not cheap, but that's heart stopping.
  2. I made transfers to both Kasikorn and SCB accounts on Tuesday via Wise from Singapore. Transfer to Kasikorn took about 5 minutes, one to SCB took 3 hours.
  3. What's to debate, I just explained how it works in this household. If you have a faulty memory, and/or you wife and kids don't talk to you, sure prepayment is probably best.
  4. Nothing wrong with using COD just remember what you've ordered and how much the item is. If you didn't order it, don't accept the delivery.
  5. Those notes have the new King's portrait, he's only been on the throne since 1st Dec 2016, and currency with his portrait has only been in circulation the last six years.
  6. Songkhla is a peaceful little town. The issues of the southern insurgency seldom intrude, there have only been two incidents; in Apr 2005 a bomb attached to a motorbike exploded near the Green World Hotel, Songkhla, injured no one, in Dec 2018 two pipe bombs damaged the mermaid statue, again no injuries. The beach is popular with locals and Malaysian tourists at the weekend, but during the week it's a sleepy hollow. Good connections via Hat Yai airport to Bangkok, KL and Singapore. Depends what you're looking for, Songkhla is quite with clean air, but has few expats and little entertainment.
  7. I hadn't realised Thailand classified 100 Plus as a drug!
  8. So you can sneer across the aisle at the plebs
  9. After midnight, maybe the minivan driver simply fell asleep.
  10. If you're an Arsenal fan it's painful viewing. UTV.
  11. I have zero interest in what others might think, unless it's someone I'm talking to or someone I know, total strangers are of no concern. .
  12. Monitoring stations or websites? Can depend on whether the figure is a 24hr average or a live reading. Also varies on how the AQI is calculates, is it just on the PM2.5 reading or does it calculate a weighted figure based on several pollutants; commonly PM2.5, PM10, carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and ground level ozone. Then there's the location of the station to consider, is it street level or on the top of a building for example. Many variables.
  13. +1 for 19 Crimes, either the Red Blend or the Shiraz. Available Big-C, Tops, Villa Market and no doubt a few more. If you have a Wine Connection in your area then they have a good selection of wines at reasonable (for Thailand) prices.
  14. Similar problem here during the wet season. We've managed to shut off access in most places, but we've a couple of spots they always seem to find a way in. Mothballs have some effect, we tried traps but handling and disposing is an issue, best we found, but brutal, was to drop the trap into a large bucket of water and leave for 20 minutes. Glue traps laced with food and poison pellets is the preferred method, also brutal but more hands off. It's a problem that always seems to return, regardless what you do.
  15. You want a medal or what?!
  16. When I pointed the above out to immigration in Hat Yai earlier this year, when my paperwork for extension renewal was initially rejected over an out of date TM30 (I'd been to Bangkok), I was told "that is Bangkok, this is Songkhla". The OP needs to bite the bullet and make the trip to Chiang Mai.
  17. Hat Yai (Songkhla) even if you only leave the province you need to do a new TM30 on return. I was up in Bangkok last weekend, nearly forgot my TM30, wife went in today, officer threatened to charge the wife Bht1,600 because she was late, wife pleaded father's day holiday so was let off.
  18. You're wrong, it's financial profiling, nothing to do with race.
  19. Phnarr, phnarr
  20. No, it says your trip must be within 3 days of submission. When I went through KLIA2 in July there were plenty of people being helped to complete the online registration in an area ahead of the immigration desks. So it appears you can submit a MDAC right up to the point of arrival. The other post above says the same.
  21. Why? You just visit the website and take 5 minutes to complete the MDAC - it's not that onerous.
  22. I printed out the completed form but it wasn't asked for, it obviously comes up on screen when the IO scans your passport
  23. Had to do this for the first time on my last trip to KL in July. All very easy, just complete the details a couple days before arrival. Similar to the Singapore digital arrival card.
  24. I was going to say, given you've faced the exact same issue twice it's probably an issue with your phone camera rather than Wise or Bitkub.
