  1. Incorrect, Allies do not equate to equality, but support for each other in times of conflict and peace. To denigrate the losses Australia has underdone during warfare fighting alongside the US is a deep insult. Australian forces have been held in high regard by both British and US commanders, It appears you have taken up the trump propaganda line. IMO the US will eventually regret supporting trump's isolationist policy trends and bullying tactics. It's now very clear trump and Co cannot be trusted; it will be very interesting to observe the status of the US domestically and in the international arena by the end of trump's term.
  2. MAGA continually striving to block check and balances... Donald Trump’s administration is asking the Supreme Court for permission to fire an ethics chief as the president and Elon Musk move quickly to gut the federal workforce, including agency officials and watchdogs. Trump asks Supreme Court to fire ethics chief as mass purge runs into legal roadblocks
  3. What's the definition of a Marxist in today's US culture; anyone who disagrees with the MAGA meme?
  4. Your first post referred to "The upside is they are thinning out their own fanatical garbage" which I took as referencing religious based motivation". Already mentioned so called 'Muslim' organised crime gang killing
  5. Nonsense. The inter Muslim killings are gang related, not religion motivated, Just like the non Muslim organised crime gangs.
  6. From the OP: a 24-year-old Afghan national, who was already known to law enforcement for previous theft and drug-related offenses.
  7. I assume from his criminal background the Afghan is a convert to ISIS. Why people can be transitioned info a Salafi Islamist in an attempt to bring about the Islam version of "The End of Times" I have never understood; basically it's an impossibility in modern times.. Thankfully no one was killed, but so very sad these attacks are ongoing from time to time. If it turns out to be an ISIS convert, they are still active in parts of Afghanistan and Africa, after all this time the West needs to refocus and wipe them out
  8. Donald Trump's press secretary warned that "nobody has the right to ask the president questions" after the White House blocked an Associated Press (AP) journalist from an event over the news agency's continued use of the "Gulf of Mexico" in its coverage. The organisation said it was given an ultimatum over its editorial decision to refer to the oceanic basin by its original name “while acknowledging the new name Trump has chosen" — the Gulf of America. Nobody has a right to ask the president a question, says Trump press secretary

  9. BS, which political parties in USA are Socialist? List of socialist states https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_socialist_states
  10. There does not seem to be one definition of "the Swamp". However in the context of the OP Musk is endeavouring to replace existing bureaucratic structures "the swamp" with trump loyalists. In parallel trump to Musk's activities he is firing departmental Inspector Generals to void any oversight by non trump appointees. Ergo creating a "swamp" according to his play book which no doubt will be riddles with corruption.
  11. e.g.: https://www.reuters.com/world/us/news-outlets-reject-trump-accusations-usaid-media-payoff-2025-02-07/
  12. I do, you and others disbelieve the denials and so it goes....
  13. Your likely correct, but maybe he can convince some State or a multibillionaire acquaintance or indeed himself
  14. Both articles I linked were denials of the allegations.
  15. As an example of the many unproven / unsupported claims in your post where's the proof? Eg. Several major news outlets including Politico and the Associated Press have rejected unsubstantiated accusations by President Donald Trump and right-wing influencers that the U.S. Agency for International Development paid millions of taxpayer dollars to newsrooms in exchange for coverage favoring the Democratic Party. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/news-outlets-reject-trump-accusations-usaid-media-payoff-2025-02-07/ BTW from your link: Biden administration didn’t steal $1 billion from FEMA for migrants. Trump’s claim is Pants on Fire!
  16. Of course why not just answer my original post.
  17. No evidence of PBS reporting lies?
  18. Please provide credible examples of PBS reporting that has been identified as lies. If your claim is factual, guarantee it will be far, far less than trump's 33,000 plus lies since becoming President, so where's your accusation of lying right of centre morons?
  19. First, US AID monies are primarily expended in the USA. A reality check on your scam claim.... Only 13 of the people are still getting Social Security benefits, the report said. But for others, their Social Security numbers are still active, so a number could be used to report wages, open bank accounts, obtain credit cards or claim fraudulent tax refunds. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/nation/death-stop-social-security-payments
  20. snipped for brevity. No I'm referring to organisations deemed credible by the Moderators of this forum. US AID was supporting a core principle in democratic societies of media freedom for reporting factual content. Unless the various Court cases being raised against trump's decision to cease support for USAID, USA will be partially responsible for shutting down freedom of expression in many countries just as they wish to do so within US domestic.
  21. Exactly what transparency and accountability is being provided by Musk & co? Terminating contracts, staff, contractors etc and implementing automated software tools does not come at zero cost, in fact probably costs billions. Project goals for cost saving often take a number of years to prove / disprove. Credible link/s are required to back up your claims
  22. Typical attempted smears from MAGA world which we will see a great deal more in the trump coordinated efforts to destroy US government institutions. . Following is Power's response which has to be quoted in full as behind a paywall.... We are witnessing one of the worst and most costly foreign policy blunders in U.S. history. Less than three weeks into Donald Trump’s second term, he, Elon Musk and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have halted the U.S. Agency for International Development’s aid programs around the world. In so doing, they have imperiled millions of lives, thousands of American jobs and billions of dollars of investment in American small businesses and farms while severely undermining our national security and global influence — all while authoritarians and extremists celebrate their luck. I am shocked by the gleeful assault perpetrated by our own government against U.S.A.I.D.’s programs and the public servants who work on them. But after running the agency for four years, I am not surprised that the attacks are being cheered by Moscow and Beijing. They understand what those seeking to dismantle the agency are desperate to hide from the American people: U.S.A.I.D. has become America’s superpower in a world defined by threats that cross borders and amid growing strategic competition. The assistance provided by U.S.A.I.D. comes in many forms, and with a budget of less than 1 percent of the U.S. government’s overall annual spending, it, alone, is no panacea for the world’s major challenges. Like all government agencies, it could be more efficient, and making it so was an effort I spearheaded during my tenure. Yet for much of the world population, the investments and work of U.S.A.I.D. make up the primary (and often only) contact with the United States.
  23. It's interesting media doesn't query the costs of Musk's activities. His organisation must be acquiring lots of software such as Enterprise Workflow Management, resources for consulting, integration, configuration and training. With size of Federal Departments likely to cost billions, so what's his cut?
