Here's what happens when the world's richest man buys the presidency
simple1 replied to simple1's topic in Political Soapbox
You've totally missed the thrust of the article. The world's richest man refers to Musk. Musk has been nominated by trump to a major influencer Cabinet level role to cut costs, plus of course Musk will have the inside running for relevant trump admin contracts -

Nope the number is estimated at 200,00 'encounters' in the past year; mainly Indian and East Asian nationals. With 358 suspects on the terror watchlist were detained at ports of entry on the U.S.—Canada border during the 2024 fiscal year, I expect those on the terror watchlist are related to Indian internal political conflicts. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/donald-trump-tariffs-immigration-canada-b2653974.html -

In 2024, Democrats spent about $6.7 billion, Republicans spent about $7.6 billion, and third-party candidates, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr., spent a little more than $500 million. Adjusted for inflation, that’s more than 2.5 times as much as any third-party candidate since 2000, when third-party candidates spent nearly $197 million. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/live-update/election-news-2024/the-cost-of-this-election -

you've got the wrong member. Biden corruption has never been proven in a court of law, just allegations by trump world. -

Although Dems on the Board, a Republican partisan report. No mention of the increase to the national debt created by trump's tax cuts, which were also used to enrich corporates by share buy back schemes, not reinvested as proposed. -

Remember trump promised oil executives he would take care of them if they donated a billion dollars towards his election. Not long after we heard trump promising to "drill baby, drill'- 339 replies

Interesting opinion piece... GOP legislators are toying with reducing payouts under the system, including raising the retirement age and other benefit cuts. As one GOP representative recently told Fox Business Network, “we're going to have to have some hard decisions” on Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare. Trump’s GOP will be making “hard” choices, meaning they will be cutting benefits, in order to fund tax cuts for wealthy donors. Hopefully you're correct, but sounds like wishful thinking - got the link?

Israelis killing in Iran or a US once off strike is a very different scenario to US declaring war on Hamas and killing in Iranian territory or indeed in Gaza.
-
Have we seen the IDF decision making processes on whether to destroy a target or not? The IDF continually make the claim they are the most moral / ethical military in the world. That claim has worn extremely thin prior to and after Oct 7th to the point I and many others, including Israelis, no longer have any faith it that claim. A lot is now hidden by the Netanyahu right wing government with banning media critical of their actions (remind you of trump's threats?) . Any government banning critics of their actions, including local media, have some serious issues they wish to hide. I have made my point as have you, we disagree, no need to carry on.

Many organisations are of the POV Israeli forces have not complied to the Rules of War and in fact are liable for War Crimes prosecution though we all know that will not happen. One only needs to view the daily reports coming out of Gaza and the West Bank of the indiscriminate killings. Such as one bombing today killing twenty children at a school. Not interested in your deflection, excuses and so on - it is unforgiveable

Got a credible link confirming Hamas response to trump's threat will be to release the hostages? The only Hamas response I can locate is below.... https://www.newsweek.com/hamas-hits-back-trump-threat-1994943
-
Not going to happen
-
What, in your opinion can trump do by force, without in the process killing hostages, where Israeli combined forces have been unsuccessful? To date I don't believe Israeli forces have been constrained by Rules of War.
-
Thanks, but MAGA indifference to trump and co's actions contravening long established and legal protocols
-
No

I agree re hostages. But unless trump already has a secret agreement in place for when he takes the Oath Of Office and just red meat wind-up in the meantime, he really should keep his mouth closed otherwise conflicting approaches only confuse matters. The Israelis allegedly have already killed most of the Hamas leadership and fighters and presumedly know where any Hamas survivors are, just trump usual big mouth threats.
-
Difference of opinion - you deflect and post blah, blah trying too be a MAGA supporter

Go try, but Logan Act is very clear - one president at a time - it is also very clear trump is engaging in negotiations https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/trumps-envoy-meets-qatari-israeli-prime-ministers-ceasefire-push-2024-12-04/
